Strategically located between the "old" and "new" Ragusa, Villa Del Laura offers an excellent location and services to meet your every need and expectation.
Our room had a beautiful view and the bed was incredibly comfortable. Also, the breakfast pastries were the best we had in Sicily. Wonderful staff!
The bathroom could have been cleaner and the bed pillows were not comfortable.
A beautifully renovated building around a peaceful oasis of a pool and garden. Comfortable and quiet room. Great location for exploring Ragusa Ibla. Free drinks in the minibar were a lovely touch- we hardly touched them but it was nice to know they were there in case we wanted them!
Staff were pleasant enough but not always forthcoming with information. Some city maps in reception would be nice- we eventually asked after 2 days of struggling with a useless one in our guidebook and one was produced from a cupboard under the reception desk. Why not offer one to everyone when they check in? Finding a parking place was not as easy as the reception staff would have you believe!
beautiful and stylish. Location was good, staff were friendly.
this hotel needs some warmth.. Could do with seat in the garden, waiting Staff and breakfast that is manned. the pool was gorgeous however needs pigeon proofing.
really lovely hotel with great pool and gardens in beautifully renovated building
Lovely staff, thankfully, with really good English language to make up for my ultra basic Italian phrases. Modern, comfortable room (I had #14 with a nice view of surroundings including pool) very tastefully decorated. Loved the pool, manicured, lawned garden with some shade trees, too. Nice breakfast and good location, considering that viewing the old town Ragusa Ibla from the newer area is a must, but the return uphill climb is fairly strenuous so consider a bus or taxi if that is a problem for you or reward yourself with a swim afterwards. I wouldn't consider staying anywhere else in Ragusa - great value for money
Being really picky, the wiFi can be a little patchy around the pool and garden and non-existent in the ground floor room I moved to for a late check-out. Not a problem for a few hours, though. Water temperature fluctuated during my morning shower but, again, not a big issue.
There was a lovely feel to this place. It is referred to as a "villa with charm". It certainly is that and it is history that emanates from the bones of the building. It was obviously a big wealthy family's home changed very cleverly to hotel rooms but there was a mystery as to what other rooms looked like that would make you want to visit again. Everything was just exactly right, even the wonderful flagstone staircase and the view from the bathroom from room 8 of the whole towns charm. Yes it will remain in my memory. I must however mention the good nature of the staff who went out of their way to be helpful. We needed to get to Taormina and every effort was made to give us options and organise without expectation. Finally to again compliment the true goodness of the hotel, I left my passport there when leaving. They had checked with the taxi driver where we had gone and when I called to enquiry whether I had per chance left it there they were already getting it prepared to send it to me at Taormina and never suggested it was my fault and they would be charging me postage. It was just being done with a smile. One last comment, what beautiful girls doing everything with a smile, and particularly Francesca with the amazing curly hair. Even my wife was impressed with her natural charm.
Rather than leave this blank, I would have to say that that there was nothing we didn't like. We both, and our children 13 and 16 loved it. Thank you
A hidden gem in a truly Sicilian city. A getaway destination for those who really want a getaway.
Bedroom under the roof, needed to move bed to avoid banging head. Very poor wifi reception.
Lovely location and quiet swimming pool + very good staff
We changed our room after the first night and got room No 2 - fantastic!
Lovely surprise upon opening the doors. Beautiful interior lobby and pool area. Room was large, including a sitting and eating area with access to the garden and pool area.
Parking was not easy.
Friendly and helpful staff at any time, spacious, nicely furnished rooms, having a large garden and a swimming pool in the heart of an historical town - a beautiful place!
There is room for improvement regarding the frequency of garden and pool maintenance.
Very well located close to the old town : you just have to go down adn then up the 300 stairs near the hotel to reach the old town, but feasible. Very quiet, nice breakfast, very nice swimming pool. Boutique hotel. The description on the site is exactly as the hotel is.
Staff were charming and pleasant, surroundings superb. Best hotel breakfast ever with wonderful fresh ingredients every day.
Lovely room and pool area. Ideally situated between old and historic centre.
No lemons 2 days running for breakfast (hot water and lemon drink). In a country famed for lemons and in a huge city why could staff not buy lemons for day 2 at least? Just told 'no!'
Sense of space in entrance halls/stairs/corridors/the bedroom; the lovely garden on different levels, and pool - a surprise to find such a big enclosed area behind a continuous row of close-packed historic buildings, and very peaceful; the welcoming and helpful staff (finding out info on buses etc for us); the painted ceilings of breakfast room and the extremely generous breakfast including lots of fresh fruit
It is in a peaceful area and close to the steps down to the bottom of the gorge and up to Ragusa Ibla - warning, these are very steep!.... and we did walk in about 20 mins from railway station with our luggage, but it is a long steepish walk up to the main street (Via Roma). It was difficult to find much choice of restaturants in the area apart from expensive wine bars
Staff friendly. Excellent room overlooking the garden and the pool is a bonus!
lovely converted town-house in ideal location between Ragusa Superior and Ragusa Ibla. very secluded private garden with nice pool. fabulous choice of restaurants in both parts of town
access by car is challenging - we ended up leaving the car in the underground car-park at the bottom of Corsa Italia, from where it is a short walk to the hotel. also there is no lift so we pulled the bags up the stairs. this may put off older guests but it's worth the effort !
Lovely, stylish hotel in newer part of Ragusa with quick access to the old part - up and down hills (as usual). Very good breakfast. Lovely swimming pool and gardens. Highly recommended.
Nothing not to like!
the style of hotel. swimming pool and garden. room was big and well furnished
A very stylish hotel with a lovely garden/pool area and a friendly, helpful staff.
