This was the best accommodation we had during our 14 day Italy vacation. Small scale operation, ony 6 rooms, great personal service form the owners. Beautifully decorated room - and a large balcony with panorama view. Breakfast was superb, homemade bread, jams etc. Dinner was also excellent - we found not reason to eat anywhere else. Nice pool and pool area. We will be back!

Everything was great - very nicely decorated room, the view from the terrace, and the food - the best breakfast we had so far in Italy as well as great dinners. And the hosts made it a memorable experience. We can only support previous positive comments by other guests. We will be back next time we are in Tuscany!

Friendly - Ettore and Stella made us feel more like a part of the family. Great food. Ettore was extremely helpful in suggesting places to visit and how to get there. The location was quiet and very well positioned for getting to the main areas of interest. I would certainly go again.

Beautiful views and in the middle of the Tuscan countryside - very peaceful. There is ample space and you can really sit back and unwind here, though it can be a bit tricky to find with a long road once turning into Capovento in Castellini in Chianti. The villa owner is an excellent chef though more of a behind the scenes type while the staff are friendly and attentive.

A bit tough to find so do put it into your GPS or google maps on your smartphone.

The Villa gives a true taste of romantic Tuscany, with outstanding views, peace and quiet and evening walks along olive line paths twinkling with a million fireflies. Truely unforgetable. The staff are friendly but not overly intrusive. You are left to find and explore Tuscany at your pace.

The bicycles could do with a service and be careful the pool can be cold but otherwise we had no complaints.

Beautiful location and wonderful hosts. The breakfasts were very fresh and best we had on our Italian trip. Eat dinner at Capovento when there because the food is wonderful. Everything was great, would like to come back again soon

Villa Capovento provided us with all we had hoped for during our stay in Tuscany. Our room was spacious and lovely with large windows overlooking the countryside. The breakfast was fabulous, with so many delicious options each day. We also had our evening meal at the villa each night. We were surprised that there were so many options on the menu. Everything we ate was wonderful and they were more than willing to accommodate special requests. Stella and Etore were wonderful hosts and their delightful cousin Ania, who was there to assist during Stella during the final months of her pregnancy, made our stay even more memorable. We would highly recommend Villa Capovento to any couple who are looking for a special place to stay in the Chianti region.

What an amazing experience my husband and I had at the beautiful Capovento. The location is wondrous. The views breathtaking. The owners incredibly helpful. The suite with the spa was a true delight. The meals delicious. It is truly an experience not to be missed if you are visiting Chianti. We arrived at the villa after driving down this wonderful scenic road through the pines. The aroma itself sets the stage. The owners greeted us and were more than helpful in getting us settled in. Our junior suite with the spa (which had been filled and warmed prior to our arriving) was clean, comfortable, spacious and beautifully furnished. It has a homey, warm feeling and the bed was super comfy. Just lying on the bed you notice the silence and the chirping birds. Once we had checked in we took a wander around the property and were blown away with the simply breathtaking views across the hills and through the olive groves. We chose to have dinner in the dining room and was one of the best dining experiences we have had since arriving in Italy a week ago. The wine selection too was fantastic. Dinner the second night was also delicious. The owner fired up the outdoor brick oven and cooked the most tasty Florentine steaks I have ever tried. The food was deliciously fresh and superbly cooked. The lentil soup is also "to die for"! We were given suggestions on places to visit over the weekend and were not disappointed. Our stay will be etched in my mind for life. I cannot recommend this villa highly enough. Thank you for a wonderful, authentic, tuscan style experience.

    Nothing. It was fantastic.

Last minute decision to stay for 1 night due to TA recommendations. Very nice family run property in countryside. Nicely decorated rooms with an in- house restaurant a bonus. Room with the terrace was great. Very strange shower/jacuzzi/hammam/disco apparutus which is fun when you eventually work out how to use it!

The owners were very nice but there was way too much hovering. Breakfast was only just ok.

We enjoyed a wonderfully relaxing stay at this villa. The owners, Stella and Ettore are very welcoming and helpful. The dinner we enjoyed at their little restaurant was skillfully prepared and used fresh ingredients... delicioso! Also, the next morning, Stella served a tasty breakfast featuring her own homemade breakfast cake and a frothy cappucino. We also loved walking the hills on the extensive Capovento property. The rosemary and sage bushes that frame the pool are amazing, but the views of the Chianti region were the very best! We definitely would like to return here in the future.

It was a bit out of the way and hard to find.

Wonderful place! Charming villa located in a magnificent landscape, nice owners and good service. Being couple of kilometers far from the main road and town is a big plus as you really feel the serenity. We have seen a deer and a rabbit when we drove to the villa through the forest, close to midnight. This made the place even more authentic! As for the food, we didn't try the dinner (wanted to try Albergaccio di Castellina, one Michelin star, that was a disappointment), but some other guests we met at breakfast said the food was really delicious at Capovento. We will love to come back !
