Lovely quiet, restful location only accessable by car. Truly gourmet breakfasts as well as a daily changing and delicious evening meal option. Helfpul, friendly family business.
Great place, good food, friendly and helpfull hosts. We enjoyed every moment and felt sorry to leave.
The wifi was not always with strong signal
Room was small and dated, especially the bathroom. High price for a B&B (150£/night). Wifi was not working in the room. Long dirt road (about 2 miles) from the main road.
Peaceful, tranquil location but well placed to visit key areas of Tuscany
Shower in room was very small and there were a lot of biting insects around the grounds so come prepared with bug spray
An incredible human touch, amazing views, great food cooked by the amazing hosts and one of the most relaxing holidays ever. Not to forget the great Capovento olive oil and the true Master of the House - Nerrino, the overpresent sweet cat.
- Quiet, secluded, good base for exploring Tuscany, gracious hosts, personal service (like family), homemade treats for breakfast and dinner
This was the best accommodation we had during our 14 day Italy vacation. Small scale operation, ony 6 rooms, great personal service form the owners. Beautifully decorated room - and a large balcony with panorama view. Breakfast was superb, homemade bread, jams etc. Dinner was also excellent - we found not reason to eat anywhere else. Nice pool and pool area. We will be back!
The place is just magic, Stella & Ettore are perfect hosts.
Everything was great - very nicely decorated room, the view from the terrace, and the food - the best breakfast we had so far in Italy as well as great dinners. And the hosts made it a memorable experience. We can only support previous positive comments by other guests. We will be back next time we are in Tuscany!
That we had only booked 3 nights
The service provided by Stella and Ettore was outstanding in all aspects. Nothing was a problem and they were able to fulfill any requirement. The food was excellent. This is a great place and I hope to be back there again one day.
Nice, kind family runs the hotel. Great location and pool view. Breakfast with lots of fruit products which I admire. Definitely will visit again!
Friendly - Ettore and Stella made us feel more like a part of the family. Great food. Ettore was extremely helpful in suggesting places to visit and how to get there. The location was quiet and very well positioned for getting to the main areas of interest. I would certainly go again.
Beautiful views and in the middle of the Tuscan countryside - very peaceful. There is ample space and you can really sit back and unwind here, though it can be a bit tricky to find with a long road once turning into Capovento in Castellini in Chianti. The villa owner is an excellent chef though more of a behind the scenes type while the staff are friendly and attentive.
A bit tough to find so do put it into your GPS or google maps on your smartphone.
The Villa gives a true taste of romantic Tuscany, with outstanding views, peace and quiet and evening walks along olive line paths twinkling with a million fireflies. Truely unforgetable. The staff are friendly but not overly intrusive. You are left to find and explore Tuscany at your pace.
The bicycles could do with a service and be careful the pool can be cold but otherwise we had no complaints.
The room and the setting were beautiful. Our hosts and owners were kind and knowledgeable. The food was excellent. And the place was simply memorable.
Beautiful location and wonderful hosts. The breakfasts were very fresh and best we had on our Italian trip. Eat dinner at Capovento when there because the food is wonderful. Everything was great, would like to come back again soon
Beautiful Tuscan setting; the grounds are lovely and well kept. Food was spectacular; Ettore is a wonderful chef. Furnishings and decoration are beautiful antiques. A intimate and relaxed atmosphere.
A beautiful & peaceful guesthouse surrounded by olive groves and vineyards ,15 minutes to Sienna .The rooms are very nice , the food is excellent & the owners do a great job at creating a memorable experience .Each evening we looked forward to the very affordable dinner menu . Each meal was superb .We highly recommend staying here & hope to return someday soon!
Villa Capovento provided us with all we had hoped for during our stay in Tuscany. Our room was spacious and lovely with large windows overlooking the countryside. The breakfast was fabulous, with so many delicious options each day. We also had our evening meal at the villa each night. We were surprised that there were so many options on the menu. Everything we ate was wonderful and they were more than willing to accommodate special requests. Stella and Etore were wonderful hosts and their delightful cousin Ania, who was there to assist during Stella during the final months of her pregnancy, made our stay even more memorable. We would highly recommend Villa Capovento to any couple who are looking for a special place to stay in the Chianti region.
Excellent value for money and the breakfast buffe was fabulous with local produce and their own products. Owners very nice and friendly.
Ettore and Stella the owners are very nice. They were always ready and willing to give me tips about what to do and where to go in the area. The restaurante menu is complete as well as the wine list. Food is delicious.
Beautiful location, very quiet, and central for touring the Chianti region! Food was delicious and staf very helpful and friendly. Great breakfast!
Wi-fi connection unstable. Price for the room very expensive.
nice location in the center of the Chianti region. Beautifully and carefully decorated house, nice facilities. Nice owner of the house.
What an amazing experience my husband and I had at the beautiful Capovento. The location is wondrous. The views breathtaking. The owners incredibly helpful. The suite with the spa was a true delight. The meals delicious. It is truly an experience not to be missed if you are visiting Chianti. We arrived at the villa after driving down this wonderful scenic road through the pines. The aroma itself sets the stage. The owners greeted us and were more than helpful in getting us settled in. Our junior suite with the spa (which had been filled and warmed prior to our arriving) was clean, comfortable, spacious and beautifully furnished. It has a homey, warm feeling and the bed was super comfy. Just lying on the bed you notice the silence and the chirping birds. Once we had checked in we took a wander around the property and were blown away with the simply breathtaking views across the hills and through the olive groves. We chose to have dinner in the dining room and was one of the best dining experiences we have had since arriving in Italy a week ago. The wine selection too was fantastic. Dinner the second night was also delicious. The owner fired up the outdoor brick oven and cooked the most tasty Florentine steaks I have ever tried. The food was deliciously fresh and superbly cooked. The lentil soup is also "to die for"! We were given suggestions on places to visit over the weekend and were not disappointed. Our stay will be etched in my mind for life. I cannot recommend this villa highly enough. Thank you for a wonderful, authentic, tuscan style experience.
Nothing. It was fantastic.
