The view is spectacular from the top of the highest hills surrounding Taormina. Upon arriving, the hotel treats its guests to wine on the veranda overlooking the sea, then ushers them to quaint Sicilian themed rooms which are very comfortable. Breakfast is Mediterranian influenced and delicious and served on that same veranda with the great views. Driving is difficult on the very narrow streets of Taormina, so the hotel offers a free shuttle to town which is relatively convenient. Car parking is available at the hotel for a fee or you can park on the street for free. The Villa Ducale was my favorite hotel on a two week trip to Italy. Used the hotel shuttle in the morning to get to the ampitheater ruins and back before check out. We had packed our bags so only needed to use the bathroom to freshen up before we hit the road, yet we discovered that the hotel had moved our bags to our car and cleaned the room - essentially putting it off limits to us before we checked out- and we were not late in checking out. Even more disturbing, friends we were traveling with had not yet finished packing their bags and hotel staff put their belongings in their suitcases and removed them from their room as well. All without being late for check out. Nothing was missing but we did not feel the rush was appropriate - especially since this is a luxury hotel with accordingly high rates. |

The staff were amazing. We were running late to catch a bus upon our departure so a driver was ordered to speed us down to the bus station. Everything was superb, the view, staff, cocktail hour, breakfast & the room. |

Absolutely quiet and incredibly beautiful location in upper Taormina with phantastic view over the sea and Mount Etna. Very nice terrace oriented towards the South. There one can have the marvelous breakfast, an afternoon drink with stuzzichini or a small pasta dinner while enjoying the grand panorama. Very good cuisine. Staff very friendly and helpful. Nothing really negative, but the following information may be found useful for travellers: Takes ca 20 minutes to walk down to the city center, but very nice and easy walk over stairs. Taxi to go back up the steep hill is expensive (15 EUR for a 5 minutes ride). Public bus available, but rather long intervals. Hotel provides a shuttle bus a few times a day. |

Views from the balcony were wonderful. It was warm in the day time but quite cold in the evening, the hotel very thoughtfully provided shawls for sitting out after dinner. We watched the lava flow from Mt Etna in the dark, it was wonderful. Staff were hugely knowlegdeable and helpful. Breakfast was lovely. Plenty of snacks and good bar service. They could not do enough for us. I didn't dislike this as I found the exercise good, but it is 450 steps down into town if you walk. It would be a difficult place to stay if you were not active. There is a bus service, but it does not run in the evening. the hotel does have a shuttle service, though we did not use it. |

The staff here were fantastic. We have stayed in many hotels and this was by far the best for service. I would recommend the Villa Ducale to anyone. |

I had high expectations for this hotel, but we were still blown away by the conscientiousness of the staff, attention to detail in the rooms, and overall sense of precision. This is a lovely and very special place, and the breakfast doesn't disappoint! Even as a vegan, I found myself with more delicious options than can be properly sampled in a single meal. And a great view of Etna, too! |

Zeer huiselijke sfeer.

Take a 10-minute walk to Taormina from Hotel Bel Soggiorno, an elegant 3-star structure offering sea views, a splendid view of Mount Etna, and a large scented garden. |
