We enjoyed Moltrasio very much: it is a great location and all the locals we encountered were very friendly. It is not a tourist hot-spot. Moltrasio has several very good restaurants which are reasonably-priced and a couple of excellent local cafes. We are fit, older people and we loved our daily walk up the 300 steps to the best cafe Restaurant with sensational views, "Al Centrale", in Moltrasio, The ferries stop at Moltrasio often which is very important for planning your trips around Lake Como. Moltrasio is not crowded even though we were there at the peak of Summer.

It is one of the quieter towns of Lake Como. A bit difficult to get to other towns especially if the fast service of the ferry is not running but for the value we got on our hotel, it was worth it. We even stayed an extra night to take advantage of the lake more.

A lovely historIc village close to Como Town but far enough away to feel its own place. Lots of stone and waterfalls as steep hills rise from the waterfront. The main lake road bypasses leaving the town area less busy (though still busy enough!). The ferry is frequent and reasonable. There are top class and basic but stylish bistro restaurants all within a small area. Those up the hill have overarching views, those on the waterfront the scene on the water. Ferry to Como Town is quick (15 mins) but it is much further to the mid lake towns and attractions.

Moltrasio is accessible by Ferry and easy to get to all the other places on Lake Como without being with lots of tourists. There is a lot of history, great walks and stunning views. There are enough restaurants to
Choose from. We stayed two night but would have liked at least another night.

Moltrasio is a small town on Lake Como.
Moltrasio is a small town on Lake Como. It has great access to other towns on the lake via ferry. there a few restaurants but it is quite quiet so if you are looking for more of a night-life, you might be better suited to a larger town or city like Como. the views of the lake from the hotel (Darsena di Riva Grande) are breath-taking and there is nothing better than jumping into the lake on a hot, sunny day. We would go back to Moltrasio and visit other towns like Torno and Bellagio next time.

A lovely village above the lake with stunning views.
A lovely village above the lake with stunning views. There are some lovely walks from the village but you need to be mobile as they are steep and involve climbing a lot of steps. There is a small shop in the centre which sells a limited number of items including fresh milk, fruit and vegetables but it is only open in the morning. Next door there is a lovely restaurant which we can thoroughly recommend!
The village itself is car free but there is plenty of free parking available. Don't arrive with heavy suitcases though as you will have to walk up or down a lot of steps to get to your accommodation!
The property was perfect for us - two grandparents (70s), two parents (40s) and two kids (8 & 10). The view was spectacular and the pool was amazing for our small group. The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of space to relax and sit. The kitchen had great appliances and the washer/dryer was a game changer for us. I loved that everyone had their own bathroom and Moltrasio was a great location on Lake Como - we hiked and biked and toured easily.
- Hotel run by a family. Warm welcome and helpful assistance when needed.
- Rooms were very clean, daily cleaning service also very good.
- Room is pretty spacious for the price.
- Breakfast was superb. Daily outside breakfast with a view on the lake.
- The ferry to Como is right in front of the hotel. Easy to get to Como city.
- Underground parking available (contact the hotel upfront to arrange this).
We loved the location of the hotel. It was a charming place nestled in the mountains. There looked to be some old staircase behind the apartment that was a cool photo opportunity.
When we arrived, the apartment was clean and our host was very responsive and helpful. And it was puppy friendly as well!
Down the road there is a great pizza place, an awesome gelato shop, and a minimarket where we bought water.
The view and location was incredible, the dream you visualize before visiting lake Como. The facilities were modern and comfortable. A wonderful bar/restaurant and Gelateria just under your door to enjoy everything Italy has to offer. Moltriaso is quiet with little to no tourists.
most beautiful property in lake como, direct water access, incredible land and gardens, picture perfect. boat tours pick you up directly from the property dock. we were able to take day trip and make reservations at the fancy hotels for lunch and dinner
Absolutely amazing! The property is located right on the water and only 400 meters away from the ferry dock. Everything inside was clean and the hotel has a common kitchen which is serviced on a daily basis. The solarium was also a big plus .
The staff was very friendly and helpful. Enjoyed the food for the breakfasts and dinners. Having the ferry across the street made it very to visit the the towns on the lake. Also it was nice to have hotel parking available for our car.
amazing apartment with stunning views. clean and very spacious. fantastic wrap around balcony. washing machine wasn’t working which was disappointing, I advised the agent but not fixed and we were moving to a hotel by then.
Very good located apartment in Moltrasio with a fantastic view. The apartment is very clean and very good furnished. The host is very kind and hospitable. We felt like home and will definitely come again!
Absolutely incredible hotel that exceeded all expectations. The staff go above and beyond to meet your every need and the hotel has everything you could need for a relaxing and exquisite stay.
the view was spectacular, the town of moltrasio is charming and historic- the nearby passalaqua hotel is magnificent- the apartment was big, nice terrace and garden- dishwasher-washing machine
The lady who greeted us was very smiling. Hence we immediately loved the hotel. Everything was equipped in the kitchen. Coffee, which was very important to us, was available in the kitchen,
Perfect location on the shore of Lake Como. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was on the small side but comfortable. Hotel is a little tired in deco but very typically Italian.
Excellently presented apartment and very welcoming host. Apartment was full of character. Quiet location. Great central location in the heart of the beautiful village of Moltrasio.
The view was amazing, the room was well equipped and spacious. It was positioned in beautiful Moltrasio that has so much history but is not too touristy.
