Built in 1896 and completely renovated in 2007, Villa Carlotta is a small, luxury hotel, combining the warm Sicilian hospitality with modern comforts and traditional Italian design, elegance and charm.

The hotel features elegant rooms and suites with a sea view, and a beautiful Mediterranean garden with swimming-pool. In addition to this the hotel provides: a free internet point; American bar, surrounded by Roman catacombs; and a panoramic lounge for relaxing.

The hotel was lovely with fantastic views. The majority of staff were also very friendly and very helpful. There was one person on reception who was a bit rude and unhelpful, but in general, the staff were fantastic and the hotel was lovely.

There was one person on reception wo was a bit rude and unhelpful. Apart from that all were fantastic. The €15 a day for parking was a little much.

Breakfast from the terrace on the top is superb. I recommend to arrive earlier to spend some time inside the hotel not only for sleeping.

Our room was just underneath the kitchen... We woke up because of the noise in the early morning...

Good quality of service - excellent attitude of staff

It is a shame that they do not offer an evening meal service only snacks. The bath is undersized and in our room dangerous to use. there is enough space for them to add in a bath with another 10cm in width without compromising the layout of the bathroom

A lovely hotel with very comfortable rooms and fabulous views.The top floor rooms were wonderfully relaxing with spectacular views of the coast and Mount Etna, and delicious breakfasts. The staff were charming, always appeared to be happy and couldn't have been more helpful - nothing was too much trouble.

The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable of the local area. Everything we requested was actioned quickly and efficiently. The rooms and hotel areas were immaculate and definately the most delicious breakfast of any hotel I have stayed at!

The only thing I could find fault with was the sunlight coming through in the mornings. Would have been great to choose a room with shutters.

The location is most convenient - just a short walk to town. The staff was very friendly, most helpful with information. Exquisitely, tastefully renovated. Wonderful breakfast on a terrace overlooking the sea and Etna.
