Walking distance from the Pompeii ruins station. Lovely welcome from the family. Nice pool. Excellent meal in the evening.

Had to miss breakfast as early departure! Trains start at 6.30am and are very close and loud.

Loved the fact when we first arrived they offered us all a seat and drink to relax. Amazing hosts - so friendly and hospitable. You MUST stay for dinner. I'm still talking about it now. I think we had 8-9 courses. Menu planned by the owners so it was extra special adventure not knowing what was coming next. Delicious!! We stayed in the newer part which was excellent and extremely clean. We walked to entrance of ruins for 8:30 am opening as very close and easy walk. I've never come across such lovely people who were so helpful and considerate. They even allowed us to keep out car and luggage after check out until we finished our tour of the ruins and then allowed our children to have another swim. Breakfast wasn't until 8:30am but as we wanted to be at ruins for opening time they allowed us to have breakfast at 8:00am. Juice, yoghurt, coffee and fresh Danishes and donuts.

The only hiccup was our GPS wanted to take us up the one way road the hotel was on. Apparently it had changed from two way to one way about 6 months ago. Make sure your GPS is up to date. If not just make sure you take the road that takes you past the station and entrance which will loop around to the road you want to be on.

From the warm friendly welcome to the awesome dinner here, we all loved our stay. We were in the apartments at the front and found them lovely, comfortable and clean. The pool was a big factor in our decision to book here after days of sight seeing Rome we knew our teenage boys would love it. The proximity to the Pompeii site was another factor. We wanted to get there before the crowds and our hosts happily accommodated our request for breakfast at 8 am instead of the normal 8:30 am. I had been a little intrigued by previous reviews talking about the dinner. It was by far one of the best meals we have had in Italy. 9 courses later, we were so full. Its a different menu every night and you dont know what's on it which is part of the appeal. We had everything from deep fried anchovies (fresh, not those horrible salty tinned things) to Bruschetta, ravioli , baby octopus, antipasta ending with fresh fruit. We are already planning on coming back so we can visit mount Vesuvius and the other ruin.

Staff and ambiance, food, pool, value for money, family friendly.

Nothing. It's not a five star hotel. Just an exceptional family run hotel.

Very welcoming hosts. Always keen to help. We were so glad we ate here as The food was Amazing and extremely good value for 3 courses. The starter was a meal in itself - we were presented with a gorgeous plate of antipasti and several other plates of beautifully cooked starters to enjoy. We had been travelling round italy for several weeks and eating in various restaurants and this by far was the best meal we had eaten, and the best value. Very good location for all the sites.

The Villa Franca was not only close to the Pompeii ruins but also in the ideal location for a long and tiring visit. It was a short walk downhill to the entrance of the ruins. After touring the main sites we made the longer walk to the Villa dei MIsteri, exited from the ruins there, and then it was only a very short walk back to the Villa Franca! We were very relieved and could jump into the swimming pool to cool off. The food (particularly dinner in the garden) was excellent and tailored to our needs---plenty of seafood for my husband and lasagna for my son. The friendliness and helpfulness of the owners eased our arrival and departure for the airport. Strongly recommended.

Villa Franca was exactly what we needed - a value for money, clean, budget place to stay near Pompeii. We were able to stay in a triple room with our two children and the hotel provided a travel cot without any problems. The hotel was very flexible; they were happy for us to leave our car parked onsite while we explored the Pompeii ruins, even though we had checked out of our room. They also let us take away some breakfast since we needed to leave before they had started serving.

Although we were first to be seated for dinner, for some reason we were served last, and had to wait quite some time before getting any food - people all around us were eating by the time our starters arrived. This was a nightmare as our small children (2 and 3) were very hungry, tired and cross. Another guest took pity on us and gave us bread from their table in the end. Because we were served so late, we had to leave mid-way through the meal to put our children to bed, as they were exhausted and complaining. This meant we were not served all the courses on offer, but were still charged full price for our meal.

Friendly and welcoming staff. We travelled with children and the attitude from the staff was very accomodating. Dinner was excellent, especially the antipasti and the price was very fair. Will definitely recommend to others.

Pompeii is actually a pretty sketchy place. However, Villa Franca was a fantastic choice. It's hot in July and taking on all of the ruins in one day would have been overwhelming. Touring in the morning, and then swimming in the afternoon was a fantastic way to take on this area of Italy. We'd finish off the day with some of the best food we had in Italy, prepared by the owners of the B&B. Would recommend this place to anyone not wanting to see it all in a day. Perfect

If the air conditioner had been functioning just a little better, review would have been excellent across the board.

Warm and welcoming, friendly staff. Pleasant rooms overlooking the pool and fantastic home-made food, freshly prepared and of chef standard. This is a very well located hotel for Popeii, the bus and train station and for anyone who enjoys great Italian food.

Everything was perfect and great value.

The location is great—very close to the private train station (Circumvesuviana line, not the Trenitalia station, although that's not too far away, either) and a short walk to one of the ruins entrances. Very attractive and clean facility. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was simple, but very nice. Absolutely have dinner there: we had an amazing multi-course dinner for €15 per person, and a great bottle of wine for €12. The hotel isn't very close to restaurants, so this is especially convenient. The multinational clientele made for very interesting conversations at dinner and breakfast.

The villa was perfect for our group of 11 people ranging in age from 2 to 72! The accommodations are sparse but everything you need is there and clean. Pompeii was very hot so we came back for a swim/rest and we were treated to the best Bruchetta I've ever had! We ate dinner at the villa both nights and let the owner choose the menu. They were the best meals we have had in Italy!!!! Breakfast of croissants, coffee, and juice! I would recommend to anyone! We loved it!

Need bar soap in the bathrooms. It didn't bother us but the villa is close to the train tracks. Trains are frequent during the day but not at night and there are not horns only the noise of it rushing by.

Owners and their son were very helpful indeed when we had a flat tyre. Guisseppe cooked a very good supper served by the pool.

Our bedroom or indeed any of the bedrooms did not have a balcony as advertised. Our bedroom was Very near the railway line although the trains did stop between 10 and 7. It was dark and noisy. Other bedrooms were much better.

Very convenient for visiting all the sites as it is 5 mins from the main entrance to Pompeii and 5 mins from the railway station so that we could visit Sorrento, Herculaneum, Aplontis and Vesuvius all without needing a car. Good meals at around E13 for dinner.

    Nothing of note.

We were three people, the room was very big and so was the bathroom. Ten minutes to the ruins by foot. Very close. Good food.

There is no refrigerator in the bedroom.
