fantastic view bar and service
-very noisy and disturbing roommade -booking should have adviced us about restaurant close and other lack of service at this time (winter) -even close restaurant, they could offer a limited and better menu
Beautiful hotel - exactly was we expected and need
All was nice
Loved the location charm and so much style - every single item was carefully chosen with love and care! What's not to love about VILLA FRANCA.
Mirror at the dressing table would me an asset. More light in the bathroom.
Good breakfast and a stop in Positano is worth the adventure...small roads, southern Italy, sea side hill.
Staff was not helpful in planning events, they had very little understanding of area. Check in was a mess, they were not ready to receive a car with luggage.
Location, the views
so good experience staying in this hotel
Location, hotel, room, breakfasts, hotel ambiance
The staff, answered and addressed questions, but seems a bit cold and not upbeat. It was as if they had a job to do and that was it. When you work in hotel/hospitality, you need staff that are friendly. I found most of the people in Positano from hotels to restaurants not so friendly. When you are relying on the tourists money for income, it's best to change your attitude.
Amazing views. Accommodating staff. It was my friend's birthday and they treated her like a princess. Highly recommend
We had a delightful time at this lovely hotel.Very relaxing in a lovely atmosphere. The staff were very helpful and our room was cosy with an inviting balcony that looked to the sea.
Staff friendly and helpful; good breakfast
We came one week post season so recommend coming in season to enjoy all the amenities.
Breakfast was good, location and view were also good for Positano.
Some (Not All) of the staff can be nicer. There are no parking spot at the hotel you have to pay 25Euros each day for valet. Hotel has a pool but it's very small for such a hotel and also not clean. Shuttle hours are rare to downtown/return and very strict. Even when the shuttle is available in front of hotel they don't let you go if the time is not on timeline. I'd expect much better in a 5 star hotel, it's more like 4 stars.
Hotel restaurant was good for dinner. Views were amazing
Room was very small and shower was in the bath. Lift very small
The spectacular views from our hotel. The location was a short walk to everything.
restaurant was pricey
Location, excellent view Staff, very friendly The valet parking Nice bar
The food in the restaurant was not worth the price Noisy in the room becasu of no isolation of the door. People in the corridor and next room could be heard at detail. Breakfast not impressive
the view, liked the hotel overall, the pool and terrace was great, had lunch up there twice out of 5 days. Artwork and features excellent - particularly the busts with coral head feature. Breakfast was good, really liked the restaurant.
Got the impression that the staff were just going through the motions and not genuinely caring about us. Room staff for our room was very rude and dismissive to Ron. Once it was mentioned to management our room was not made up next day until 2pm. Was there anything in the spa you could just walk in and use? Still don't know.
Staff, rooms, food, views!
Comfortable, clean hotel in upper part of Positano with great breakfast and lovely rooftop swimming pool. Great view on village and coast. Parking of hotel is arranged by valet parking, take into account 15 minutes when leaving.
Swimming pool potentially too small to accomodate guests in high season. Interior might need a touch up.
The breathtaking view from the roof terrace. Breakfast good.
Difficult to get to. Only intermittent shuttle service. Why not every 30 mins all day? Restaurant seating very uncomfortable with very mediocre overpriced food. Unwelcoming reception area; staff sitting down behind large screens. Hotel seemed more concerned with style than guest comfort.
Views, hotel pool and rooftop bar, breakfast was very good, breakfast staff were excellent, views from breakfast area and restaurant are stunning. Shuttle service is very good.
Hotel restaurant far too expensive, range of food available for room service unsatisfactory. Great to have a gym but the air con was never working.
The hotel is gorgeous. Just heavenly. We didn't want to leave. Absolute best spot in Positano. I will stay there again for sure!
Views were amazing. Staff excellent and hotel fitted out beautifully but without a doubt one of the noisiest hotels we have ever stayed in!
So many things!! Hotel on highest part of Positano and even though a free shuttle bus service is advertised it only runs at certain times of the day. DON'T STAY IN ROOM 24!! We were underneath the restaurant and were kept awake with the constant clickety clack of the staff's heels as they walked around. The dragging of chairs and rearranging of tables was clearly audible as well. We were woken each morning at 6.30am by the cleaners having a conversation at the top of their voices outside our room. The whole place echoed and the walls are paper thin. No such thing as peace and quiet. We were charged £21 for a gin and tonic and a beer by the pool which is outrageous by anyone's standard! We have been on a five week trip doing lots of walking tours and were going to use Positano as our break. We booked at a rate of £310 a night thinking we would be staying somewhere special and we were SO DISAPPOINTED!!
Views, views, views!
the bed was rather hard!
Location is perfect, although we were jettisoned to the Annex. Breakfast buffet is still unrivaled.
Staff far less personable than the olden days. Communication between staff members could be improved. Genuine warmth and soul of Villa Franca from bygone days is largely absent.
Ignore the bad reviews! The staff were very friendly and helpful! Rooms were cleaned promptly! Food was fantastic! Pool area wonderful! We had a great time! Will definitely return!
Loved the views and the restaurant was superb as were the staff, Franco always so helpful We loved our time and can't wait to revisit
