The views from our room and the breakfast area were simply breathtaking! would definately return!
The view from the balcony is superb. Nice hotel, be prepared for some walking, Taormina is a hilly village.
No free wi-fi except in the bar area. I thought everywhere did free wifi these days! Teach me to read the small print!
Only the view
The room 29 not for guest Shower room not up to standard 2014 Wifi very poor Never go back
Splendid views of Etna and bay/sea/coastline. Nice room with its own terrace. Excellent breakfast. Very pleasant staff and owner. Limited but valuable parking. Handy for amenities and attractions of Taormina.
Numerous steps need to be negotiated - both down to and back up from sights and restaurants plus within hotel itself but definitely warrants the effort. Only three parking spaces - pre-booking necessary. Hotel now a little dated but remains good value.
Affordable Nice view from the top
Mattress was way past it's prime; Springs are gone. Limited breakfast, and items not replenished (could be because there was only 1 staff who had to man the coffee orders, service check outs and also look after the breakfast buffet table). First day there was fruit and unlimited coffee. Second day, no fruit and also told that coffee was limited to 1 order. Staff not empowered to make changes. Eg: we booked for 2 nights (7€ per night) and requested parking onsite. Ended up parking only for 1 night so I requested for one of the 7€ charge to be removed. Staff couldn't do that because she doesn't touch the invoicing. Owner not around and cannot be contacted when she tried to help me make contact.
Hotel situated very close to city centre, amazing views from balcony, friendly and helpful staff.
Everything..it was perfect
Food and accommodation were good, the staff excellent and the location and view is spectacular. For us the climb, both from the town and from the road up the steps into the hotel were not a problem, but not ideal if you struggle with steps.
Dinner Breakfast ok
If the main reason most people rate this place good is for the view, and it is cloudy..... Then there is no reason to be here. Shower tiny. We had the worst room: 6 flights down and 6 flights back up! You can walk to the sights if you are young and fit.... But not for 70-year olds! Availability of staff was poor. We were told we would have to wait until 11 am to check out. We had to insist that the one person there call the manager for us.
Disappointing. Did not have the family run feel as advertised and did not seem to be anyone in charge overseeing things. Felt we were in a completely different hotel to other reviews given. Rooms were basic and bathrooms only adequate. Wish I had read more reviews before booking this hotel. Would not stay again.
Located on a hill which has a good view of sea and Etna mountain. The lady staff of morning was a really gem of the hotel with a nice smile and quick response. A 5 - 10 minutes walk to city center by stairs was a good thing in the morning.
Breakfast at 8 a.m was crowded at the table a bit. No eggs.
This is the second time we have stayed at Villa Greta. We loved the views from our room, overlooking Taormina and Mt Etna,beautiful.... The staff were nice. Fantastic location. Lots and lots of steps down to the old part of Taormina, but well worth the effort. We stayed 4 nights but could have stayed longer. The rooms were clean and comfortable.
The location of the hotel is fantastic with wonderful views from the room across the bay and up to Mount Etna. Everyone in the hotel is so friendly and helpful and immediately you're made to feel very much at home. The food is excellent and the restaurant has the same stunning views across the bay. One of the best small hotels I've ever stayed in.
High in the hill situation but downhill walk in to centre of town. Restaurant put on superb dinner. Great view of bay from Terrace.
small bathroom poor wifi reception 1km steep uphill walk from town
Walking distance to town. Owners passionate about their hotel and endeavoured to ensure clients needs met especially in the restaurant. Home cooked food delicious.
Probably a little over priced compared with other Sicilan accommodation but can not compare to Taormina hotels and rates maybe higher than other regions.
Excellent view of Mt. Etna and Noxos shoreline, especially lit up at night. The staff was wonderful. Meals were delicious.
While the view was wonderful, and the staff very attentive, the B&B was farther from the town than we would have liked and parking was 'delicate' along the side of the very narrow road. But if you are experienced at driving in Sicily, this won't bother you. (We actually got accustomed to the driving/parking issues by the end our two weeks on the island.)
Staff were reasonably friendly Breakfast wasn't bad though variety was limited
Out-of-the-way location, poorly served by buses Lots of narrow steps making it hard to move luggage to and from rooms Bathroom cleanliness (wall tiles) Small parking lot
Views are spectacular. Rooms were very nice, clean and we had our own outside area. Location was good also when you found out the short cut to the town.
The only reason we stayed here is because Taormina is an expensive town to stay in and this place was within our budget
Paper thin walls, Don't stay here if you are a light sleeper
Nice and clean and had a great outdoor area in front of our room with deck chairs and a table. The place isn't too bad to walk up to if you can find all the shortcuts.
I wouldn't bother with the restaurant. It was overpriced and the lighting was too bright to enjoy the view. To the Owner. Try softer lighting/diffused lights and perhaps candles on the tables.
We had a small balcony but was enough to appreciate the sea view and the view of Mt Etna. I was impressed by its location.
Well, it's a 10 minute walk (down/uphill with many steps) to the town centre and back. However, it's worth going to. The views are great!
Really amazing place, set on the hills with stunning views! Great food and friendly staff! We will be back for sure!
Stunning views, great patio and fantastic restaurant. Friendly, helpful staff.
The stairs within the hotel and steep climb back from city centre. However, compensated by everything else.
Hated the amount of steps. Going back up and into the hotel was pure torture .
The view from the balcony.
Bathroom very cramped, the tiny shower and toilet leaked. No hot water and poor pressure and the shower was not clean. The service for dinner (good food freshly made) we waited 45minutes to order and then again for the meal.
