Hotel Villa Gustui Maris  

This was simply the best hotel we have ever stayed in. Staff are gentle and non intrusive yet willing to accomodate every request. The breakfast is plentiful and excellent quality. Dinner on the terrace is devine. Definately worth paying extra for the view over the bay - stunning. Yes theres a hill to climb after the beach or eating in town - but it is so worth it for that view. They even have beach umbrellas and towels to take to the beach at no extra charge. I really cant wait to be back there

Mario and his staff were fantastic! They were so helpful and polite. The hotel is very simple yet elegant and very clean. I think for the price this is fantastic value. The hotel is like a little oasis in paradise!

The hotel is on top of a hill so it is a bit of a workout to walk home after dinner in the village (but I felt I needed it after all that pasta and pizza so it wasnt a bad thing for me!) Plus that is why the view from the pool is so spectacular!

The hotel staff greeted us in an excellent mannor. The view from our balcony was stunning, we had the sea view. Short walk down to main town, maybe 10 minutes down, 12 minutes up. Rooms were very tidy and cleaned well every day. Excellent scenery and many things to do nearby. Lots of parking. Pool was amazing and very well kept. Looked great in the night all lit up.This hotel well out ranked all other hotels that I could see in the area in all aspects. 10 out of 10 definalty!

Some hotel staff smoked and if we had our window open in our room we could smell the smoke quite strongly. Couldnt get air con to blow out cold air only hot, so we turned it off. (Probably user error though rather than faulty equipment but not sure)

Not a walking distance to Cala Gonone center (on high hill)

Excellent and friendly staff who is always eager to help you and find good arrangements and provide perfect advice. They offer free sun umbrellas for the beach. We enjoyed our 6 nights with at a great location with a perfect view over the bay and the parking was also nice to have as free. Breakfast had a good choice but usually almost the same each day - we ate lots!

The aircondition in the room worked but was not very powerful. Do not expect a four star city standard, but the hotel is still great. We did not try the restaurant in the evening as it seemed to be too complicated to arrange the meal so early and the opening hours did not suite us.

The hotel was superb- the view and location better than on the website- quietly set above the village with marvellous views-the staff charming and helpful- couldn't be better for a Mediterranean holiday.

The location was amazing. Quiet and an amazing few to the ocean and the mountains. The service was great. Nice friendly staff who helped you with everything. The food was great and the rooms light and clean. All in all the perfect stay if I look for a quiet place and to relax.

All staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good, but not anything special.

We had on this hotel the worst room in all our travelling in Sardinia. It was very small and interior was like 2 stars. Bathroom was better, but there was all the time problems with water pressure and temperature. Wi-fi, was working only in about 5m size of area in front of reception. Overall feeling after visiting this hotel was very much overpriced.

First impressions were of a very well cared for hotel. We were made most welcome on arival. The staff were very helpful on how to get the best out of the areas, maps, booklets etc. Our room was very confortable with a balcony and view of both mountains and the sea. The food was good with variety at beakfast and use of local suppliers and the evening meal we had was excellent and reasonably priced. The pool was lovely and the loungers, shades etc very confortable.

The staff were very friendly and really helped us to enjoy our time in Cala Gonone. The hotel is in a great location with lovely views over the sea.

A great hotel with fantastic staff who are always there to help you with everything from restaurant recommendations, to trip bookings to free umbrellas to borrow for your trips to the beach. The panoramic views from many windows, breakfast and the pool are fantastic.

The hotel is quite far up a big hill, approximately a 15 minute walk up a steep hill (you can drive too...), so I would not recommend it for a family with small children or older people. For most other people though - it's worth it for the view and if you're not planning on drinking in the evening you can always drive down the hill to town!
