Two swimmingpools with a very nice view on the property.

A lot of mosquitos, even when you are swimming. No protection on the room's windows, which are difficult to close. Clearly, clean-up is not down every day (carpets were close from disgusting). In general, the property is not up-to-date and the bathroom was not really engaging. Breakfast is served in a dark space outside, where clean-up must not have been made since the 13th century... Breakfast was very basic, with no charm. The worst part was when the house dog came and peed on the wall! We were very surprised to compare reality with stated pictures on the hotel description! For the requested price, you can find way better deals in that region!

Ok, if you've read the other reviews you will be left scratching your head just like us. Well let me clear things up for you. So …. as I sit down to wright this review I am sipping my lattè in the second floor "parlor" outside our room. Beside me is an antique vase of hydrangeas on a rich blood red quilted cover over a wonderful round wooden table with turned legs. Sunlight is pouring in through the curtains across the colourful Persian rug. Layers of art from across multiple generations unravels a tale of rich european history from by gone days. It paints a beautiful image and every word describes the Villa perfectly. However …. The flowers in that vase are past their prime and the water should have been replaced a couple of days ago. The antique vase is cracked and the leaking water has left multiple rings of rust embedded in the silver tray under the vase. The red throw over the table is warn thin and the table is wobbly and leaning to one side. The sunlight pouring strongly across the floor does little to illuminate the dark room. But where the sun does shine a thin layer of dust that is covering the art is now illuminated. To some I have described a timeless scene made more beautiful with the patina of age. To others it is a musty, warn scene that time has not been kind too. And that is dilemma of Villa I Bossi. Charming or run down??? For us I am sad to say "the emperor has no clothes". The courtyard outside our window has weeds overtaking every crack and two iron bed frames are rusting against the wall. If you're looking for old and charming there are no shortage of rural or urban locations to choose from. And as wonderful as Franchesca and here daughter are there is also no shortage of interesting and delightful inn keepers with warm smiles, open arms and a wonderful story. I wish them well. Many of the guests we met have been there many times and plan to return many more.
