In a 16th-century building in the center of Venice, Hotel Casa Verardo is just 300 ft from Saint Mark's Square.
Score from 229 reviews Very good
Enjoy clean rooms, a welcoming atmosphere, friendly staff and a central location at Hotel Paganelli, which is within easy walking distance of the Bridge of Sighs and Saint Mark’s Square.
Score from 695 reviews Excellent
Opened in 1308, the Albergo Cavalletto & Doge Orseolo is one of the oldest hotels in Venice. It is set right behind St. Mark's Square, and features elegant rooms and a private pier.
Score from 1258 reviews Good
Bel Sito & Berlino is across from Santa Maria del Giglio Church, a 5-minute walk from Saint Mark’s Square. Rooms overlook the canal, the church’s façade, or the hotel's peaceful inner courtyard.
Score from 697 reviews Very good
Close to centre, looked over pictureque Campo St Zaccharia, excellent buffet breakfast
Shower wet bathroom floor, wifi not great for skyping
As we were three adults the room we had was enormous, comfortable with large ensuite. The shower had rain jets and bathrobes were supplied also. Fabulous !
Nothing really, but we had a few mosquitoes in the room.
Staff very helpful and kind
Beds too hard
I really really recommend this hotel. The interior was very good. good value of money. Just in front of the ferry boat station and in a walking distance from san mark square. The breakfast was amazing specially that it was in open air just on the main canal. The staff is very very helpful and welcoming. I had some personal issues and health condition and they helped me a lot. Really Thanks.
Great location, right behind the water bus stop and three min walk from st mark square. Breakfast was rich.
Dirty carpet, very very small room, could not unpack the suitcase as there was no space for puting things around. Bathroom is too small, i am 59 kg and could bend in the bathroom.
Well located hotel handy to St Marks Square, restaurants, shops and all Venice has to offer. Have stayed there on two separate occasions and would stay there again
Great location, close to San Marco Kindness of personal from front office Huge superior rooms Excellent breakfast at a wonderful terrace looking over the canal
Great location - 5 mins from at marks And very close to sea front. Breakfast on sea front at sister hotel - good variety of food too Cleanliness - maids are fantastic! Reception staff very friendly Upgraded to a room with a lovely view of the square
Toilet seat could be updated! Wifi sometimes dodgy Two single matresses instead of a double despite requesting this!
the room was exceptional value for money the breakfast was also good value the hotel is so close to the water taxi and shopping staff at breakfast very helpful and pleasant the room was very quiet
i had been in contact with hotel twice through email and not once did they tell us that we had to call at their sister hotel to register and get the key as we arrived at 11pm if it hadnt been for a couple coming out for a smoke we would have been outside all nite the sister hotel is very close but this wasnt mentioned in either email
Well placed hotel. Very hospitable staff.
Location, Breakfast view, room size, bed and bedding
Great location, close to water bus station and St Marco Square, lots of restaurants nearby. Staff was friendly and attentive, one of the staff could remember our family name by just seeing us once!
Room decoration is a bit old. The smaller bed in triple room was not comfortable.
Comfortable clean rooms in a great location. Excellent service from the staff. Reasonable cost for Venice
Breakfast was in a lovely setting but overall the quality was lacking.
Good location, room itself was clean and comfortable.
Breakfasts were not great and we were booked into a very small 3 -person room facing an alley in the back which was loud long into the night, making sleep difficult. Our biggest complain though concerns the "free" trip offered by the hotel to Murano. You get a nice ride there (the price you pay is being subjected to a very high pressure sales job at a glass showroom there), but no ride back was provided. Murano has no kiosk at the harbor to buy zaporetto tickets so we called the hotel, who told us we could buy the tickets on board. We tried and were ignored by the boat crew so we sat down. Two minutes later an zaporetto "meter maid" boarded to check tickets and we were cited 59 euros each (there were 3 of us) for not having valid tickets. When we tried to explain the situation (that we had tried to buy the tickets) to the official, we were rebuffed and when we complained to the hotel, we were told they didn't see why the situation was "their problem.". So be forewarned -- we will never use this hotel again.
Great hotel and fantastic location. Easy access from the airport you simply hop on the ferry and get off at San Zaccaria and walk directly across the street up the laneway and your at the hotel. Couldn't be easier. The hotel staff are friendly and informative and most of the city tours are run from the Royal Gardens which is a ten minute walk away. We departed by train and simply caught the ferry to the station. Liked everything about Venice and the location was excellent.
Paying a service charge at most restaurants. You need to look at the menu or ask what the services charges are as some of the restaurants do not apply these.
Location was excellent, close to everything but just far enough away from the hustle & bustle.
The room was tiny
Excellent location, very helpful staff and good breakfast
Reception only temporary manned
Location is excellent and was quiet at night
This was our second visit and the facilities were about the same. The shower/bath knobs were faulty and were repaired over 3 hours which when we are only in Venice for a few days seemed like too long. The reception desk was only manned 9.00 - 5.00 not really good enough. Also the staff seemed to be more interested in their computer screens and newspapers.
Brilliant location. Quiet room. Good breakfast with amazing outlook & friendly staff.
An excellent location, close to all the key spots and getting the vibe of Venice.
Location is perfect, just past San Marco - but on a very quiet square. We've been there 3 times and ask for the same room each time. Breakfast is next door at the larger sister hotel and is extensive and delicious. We've recommended Villa Igea to all our friends.
We loved staying at this hotel! It was in an excellent location: a one minute level walk from the San Zaccaria ferry stop (good for carting luggage) & a two minute walk to the Piazza San Marco. It was peaceful & quiet, about 50 meters from the busy waterfront thorough fare, opposite the beautiful little San Zaccaria church. The reception staff (Alberto and Leonardo) were very friendly and helpful and spoke good English. They took the initiative in organizing transport and tours for us, which took the stress out of having to work it out ourselves. Our room (702) was beautiful, with shuttered windows looking over the San Zaccaria square, a very comfortable bed and a freshly renovated ensuite, also with a view! Breakfast was provided by the 'big sister' hotel the Savoia & Jolanda, overlooking the waterfront. I thoroughly recommend this nicely tucked away boutique hotel!
Nothing negative to say at all.
Friendly good staff
The location and the buffet breakfast. Liked the updated bathrooms and the free wifi.
