The manager is a gentleman, very engaging and really helpful. He sets the tone for the team that work for him. A real pleasure. The view from the terrace across the sea and cliffs to Positano is picture perfect.

Its set up the hill so to get up and down from the road is 220 arduous steps, not easy after a long dinner. And you have to go down for everything !

Everything !! Simone and Julio were lovely, so friendly and helpful nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was delicious, fresh fruit picked from their garden and home made yoghurts. The view from our room terrace was to die for. This is the only place we would stay if we returned to Praiano.

The steps down to the main area. But my wife and I are in our late fifties so found it a bit of a struggle going back up. Do not let this put you off. It is well worth the effort.

What's not to like? This four day stay came at the end of a five week trip around Europe and was just such a perfect location to unwind and relax. The view from our room and terrace was directly over the ocean. The owners were lovely and helpful, breakfast was great with fresh fruit from the garden and home made yoghurt. Praiano was a lovely smaller town to be based in for the Amalfi coast with plenty of restaurants for dinner. It is less touristy than other towns but still easy to get to the others by bus.

We simply had a perfect three days in the dreamlike environment created by Giulio, the perfect host. His discretion yet presence when needed was very appreciated. Of course the view, rooms and personalized touches throughout the property were all first rate and Simona's morning smiles were an added bonus. Thank you and we look forward to coming back we our kids someday soon.

Everything about the villa was fantastic - staff, rooms, view, facilities. Stayed an extra day & was sad to leave.

Only downside was 200 steps from street but there was a bus sometimes & hotel staff very helpful with luggage.

Location - Villa Il Frantoio is situated atop the hillside of Praiano on the Amalfi Coast and has incredible views of Positano and well as the island of Capri in the distance! We absolutely loved staying in Praiano because it is far less touristy than the neighboring cities of Positano and Amalfi, and therefore offers a bit more serenity. In addition, because Praiano is less touristy we were able to find free parking for the three nights we stayed there (which would have been next to impossible in Positano or Amalfi). Yes, there are a few stairs to tackle with luggage, but if you drive your luggage to Villa Il Frantoio's taxi stand and walk down it is far easier than walking up the stairs from the main road. Also note, the free parking is essentially two streets up from the taxi stand where there are no markings on the road (neither white nor blue). Customer Service - The staff working the front desk were extremely helpful and gave us wonderful suggestions as to what we should do on our three night stay there. Two things we would highly recommend is #1) Rent a scooter for 24 hours (60 euros) and drive the entire Amalfi Coast (from Positano to Amalfi). This was the highlight of our two week trip to Italy and was so much fun! #2) Instead of taking the public ferry to and from Capri (36 euros pp), spend a little extra (55 euros pp) and take a boat tour through BOA tours to the island of Capri. We realized that we had more fun boating around Capri (stopping to swim in grottos) than we did on the actual island of Capri. Atmosphere - Relaxing and Romantic are what come to mind when I think of this place. Incredibly peaceful and the views are just breathtaking! Amenities - Beautiful pool overlooking the Mediterranean, mini-bar in each room, laundry and ironing services, private patio/balcony area with dining table.

Simona gave us the warmest welcome of all our stops in Italy. She was so friendly and helpful. Her English is excellent. The resort was quiet, clean and very relaxing. The views were incredible. Yes, there are a lot of stairs to climb, but I liked it.

    Nothing!

Everything was brilliant! Julio and Simona were incredibly helpful and welcoming, the rooms were perfecftly equipped and very comfortable. The private balcony with our room had chairs table and sunloungers, we couldnt have asked for more. The pool was fantastic and meant if we didnt feel like walking down to one of the beaches we still had water and sunshine. the breakfast was the best we had all week in our opinion, a buffet of fruit, cereals, bread, pastries, cheeses, hams, tomatoes, bread and omelettes. Super tasty and plenty of it. In short, we just felt like everything at Villa Il Frantoio was done with their guests comfort and ease in mind and that really came through.

The pool was a must in summer, the beach is a hike away. The quaint feel of just a few rooms. The staff was helpful. The grounds well kept. Good breakfast too.

Parking is not easy. Steps are many. (All of Amalfi Coast is this way.)

Amazing views from everywhere, less busy than Positano and Sorrento but still cool eating and beaches nearby and easy access to all of Amalfi. Our recommendation is get a scooter - great way to do the Amalfi with freedom. The Villa is a great spot.

Only issue were the stairs in the area both to the Villa and the nearest beach.
