We are a group of 4 seasoned travelers and I did wonder why there aren't many ( if you can find them) reviews. Perhaps visitors prefer to say nothing ? Villa La Fonte looks great in the pictures, but actually in reality, the layout is poor. The 2 bathrooms are badly laid out and the kitchen is small & under equipped. The lounge is overwhelmed by a huge snooker table and the decor is irritatingly cluttered! The space could be better used with more additional seating. The bed mattresses in both doubles need replacing , both dip in the middle! The location, geographically is fine. The views which, are hard to see from the villa, are rural, almost jungle! The Mosquitos are vicious, and the nearby caged hunting dogs, howl pitifully late into the night. Access to the Villa is, as we were warned, a rough dirt track, but beware of the gate stump too in the floor. We travelled a lot and saw some lovely sites. Value for money - overpriced we think, thougheverywhere in, 'Tuscany' is expensive !!
Good size swimming pool ( unheated)
Palaia which is walking distance,( uphill) has bars and restaurants, gift shops which are considerably cheaper than the tourist area. The locals are friendly and Lorena, the housekeeper, was lovely.
