Villa La Palagina    

Rented one of the apts with 2bedrooms. Everything was dry clean and the staff was very friendly. We rented a car and the location was excellent....convenient to everything we wanted to see in Tuscany

The location was great, 20 minute drive to Greve in Chianti, 45 minutes by car/train to florence. The villa was nicely renovated and the beds were comfortable.

Our villa was a 5-7 minute walk uphill from the main lodge. The kitchen utensils and bathrooms were dirty on arrival. Wifi was only available in the lobby of the main lodge.

After travelling for 5 weeks we needed some days to relax and rest, Villa La Palagina was spot on. The staff were proactive in meeting needs of guests, nothing was a problem, Restaurant and staff were great especially the menu. Swimming pools ( 2 ) and surrounds were excellent. Room and facilities were excellent. Really enjoyed the Tuscany atmosphere of the villa including the older furniture and the design of the building and grounds.

Noise from restaurant at night. Bedrooms directly above restaurant were disturbed by dining guest till after midnight. Hotel management need to take control of this.

The service was realy great. E very request we had they tried and succseeded to fulfill. We were traveling with a 9 monts baby and they helped us as much as they could. The breakfast was the same everyday but it was a good breakfast and even the baby had enough to eat.

The breakfast was the same every morning and there were no vegetabeles.

The Villa La Palagina is an amazing mansion, from the outside and hall and reception are very impressive. Very warm and friendly check-in and out. All the staff very friendly. Wonderful view over tscan landscape..

It is an old villa, restaurated. Unfortunately they forgot about the rooms. They still have the old italian style beds, meant for short ppl. Rooms could need a fresh painting and bit newer furniture. We booked a standard room via booking for 160€ per night (which isnt cheap!) and got a tiny, dark room, with a bed, made for a 1,50m person...when we asked fr another room, we were told that only superior rooms for 20€ extra/night were available.. Well, we preferred to pay the extra and get a decent bed!! Bed it's a disgrace they made us pay for it! A villa that charges so much per night should have decent beds as standard equipment!! Our new room was heading to restaurant, which was noisy in the evening. We had the choice to either watch tv or switch on air-co, as there wasnt enough plugs for both at the same time!!! Pool bar very expensive (french fries or beer for 6,5€!!), and served on plastic plates etc.. restaurant itself, very romantic, very nice, very overpriced and food qulaity not up to the asked prices!! The hotel charges a lot, but the standard going with it is definetily missing. I was disappointed an I would not go back.

The Villa is set among vineyards, up on a hill, with a very nice view over the surrounding area. The pool view is also very nice. The furniture is classical and all of the deco creates a very nice old-style and elegant spirit. I would definitely stay again at the Palagina and I can also recommend it to the ones who would like to have a nice, cozy and romantic weekend.

They don't have breakfast included, you will have to pay extra 13 eur / Person for it and unfortunately it will not exceed your expectations at all.

The grounds of the villa are just beautiful, sitting in the garden terrace for breakfast or dinner overlooking the magnificent postcard pretty views. We were lucky to get the garden /pool view room, it was just breathtaking to wake up and open the shutters to the views. The staff are very accommodating, special thanks to Maneula for all her help with our requests. The steak is really fantastic in the restaurant. We loved the way the villa is for a real getaway to just relax and switch off.

Our bathroom was very small but not a problem for us only a minor aspect. We didn't like that we only stayed for one night but as we had a wedding elsewhere we had to move on.

We stayed for three nights in one of the 2 bedroom apartments with our 4 and 12 year old, and it was one of the highlights of our trip to France and Italy. The dinners we had at the hotel restaurant were extraordinary; the best food we had while in Tuscany. The two infinity pools kept our kids entertained and cooled off after sightseeing in nearby Florence. The staff and service was friendly and efficient. Although the hotel was full, it never felt crowded. The views are incredible; Tuscan hills filled with olive trees and vineyards. We would love to return someday.

Location/view is great; room was ok, but nothing special.

No self brought drinks allowed at swimmingpool, however € 4,5 for a softdrink, €6 for a beer and €11 for a sandwich/ €6,5 for small portion of fries is a bit over the top. Restaurant is ok, €38 pp for menu excl drinks is high end as well...

Wonderful property, outstanding staff, unmatched landscape and setting.

Villa La Palagina has a great pool, stuff is very friendly. I would recomend it to anyone, who is looking for peace and relaxation.

I wish there were more different types of salami and cheese for breafast.

Sehr schönes Ambiente, tolle Zimmer, guter Service, sehr sauber (auch top-gepflegter Garten), 2 sehr gepflegte Pools mit herrlicher Aussicht, sehr gutes Restaurant, sehr ruhig aber trotzdem nah in das Stadtzentrum von Florenz (30min).

Osebje v recepcij je zelo prijazno lokacija je odlična še lepše je kot v katalogu.

Herrliche, idyllische Lage., alt ehrwürdiger Palast, sehr gepflegt. Sehr nettes Personal. Francesca von der Rezeption spricht sehr gut deutsch. Für ein Superior Zimmer mit Panoramablick ( Zi. Nr 20 hatte 2 Fenster mitToskana Blick) haben wir 10 Euro pro Tag Aufpreis bezahlt. Die Zimmer in der obersten Etage haben nur sehr kleine Fenster. Es gibt ein einziges Zimmer mit kleinem Balkon- dieser ist allerdings genau über dem Restaurant. Eigentlich haben alle Zimmer einen tollen Blick in den Park oder die Toskana. Halbpension ist vor Ort buchbar und kostet 29 Euro ( dafür kann man aus der regulären Speisekarte 3 Gänge aussuchen). Das Essen ist sehr gut und die Preise sind angemessen. Das Frühstück war wieder Erwarten toll - es gab ein Büffet das kaum Wünsche offen ließ und eine Kaffeemaschine die vom Cappuccino über Latte alles "konnte".Die 2 Pools sind sehr groß und es gibt genügend Liegestühle für die Gäste der 26 Zimmer.Greve in Chianti ist ca 9 km entfernt, das Outlet " The Mall" ist 12 km entfernt. Wir hatten eine tolle Zeit und werden sicher wieder kommen.

Geen internet op kamer (wl op wc !!) slechts kleine ruimte voor max 4-5 personen om te internetten onze kamers waren bescheiden (standaard echt te klein- superior was geen superior waard) maar wel in orde

Bello il posto e la villa immersa nelle colline del chianti!

Non mi e' piaciuto che quando siamo venuti via e siamo andati a pagare il conto,ci hanno chiesto 45euro in piu' per le spese di pulizia extra!!! Visto che era un appartamento,nel quale siamo stati solo una notte!scorretto e brutto senza avvisare!credo che non ci tornero' piu'!

La tranquillité,le cadre, la belle demeure typique toscane,la propreté, l'acceuil ,le personnel.

L'accès par un chemin de terre quelque peu dégradé mais sans plus.

La struttura è molto bella con un vista molto tipica della Toscana e del chianti. E' un peccato che la colazione, valorizzata da cornetti fatti in casa, sia appesantita da cappuccino/caffé da macchinetta, con una qualità da nord europa.

Staff gentile e disponibile. Accoglienza eccezionale e ambiente curato e pulito.
