Villa La Principessa  

The restored mansion is splendid in a secluded location, easily accessible from the autostrada. It is very close to Lucca, and on the lovely road to Pisa which is only 20 minutes away. We were really impressed with the quality of the food and wine in the restaurant, with excellent dishes of very fresh ingredients, all prepared with flair. A special mention of the restaurant staff who were friendly attentive and very professional. It was so good we ate there every night.

The front clerk was extremely helpful. The full breakfast buffet was amazing.

The soundproofing between rooms was lacking.

Beautiful hotel, gorgeous surroundings and gardens. Outdoor pool is very nice. The staff are all very courteous.

No room service, or at least, there was no information about how to order, say, tea or coffee to your room. This is a bit inconvenient because there are no tea/coffee/kettles in the rooms (for an understandable reason). You can, however, get refreshments via the bar.

Comfortable accomodacions. Better than Average breakfast. Very good dinner. Attentive staff. Attractive grounds.

Grand hotel in old style with plenty of original features yet with all the modern attributes normally required today. Most of staff were helpful and enthusiastic . Restaurant was good quality but expensive.

Great location, nice building and relaxing pool area and interesting art selection

Odd just of background music - Simply Red, which was often on repeat. English newspapers would have been nice

We were only there one night but found it delightful. Our room was a little old fashioned but fair value for money - dinner was lovely

The space, funky decoration and pictures which mix well with the baronial style of the villa; nice garden dinning area, the gardens, the pool looked good. Bedroom size was good with ample seating.

The lack of a terminal / PC for free internet access. The fact that internet access, wireless, was not free. I understand the management are looking to address this. Dinner prices are on th e high side and potions are not the most generous but staff are attentive. Its a shame they don't have any English language news paper, not even one.

Very good location, 10 mins drive to Lucca wall where all restaurants and bars are. Restaurant in hotel nice but not enough chose if staying for a few nights.

House wine 5eros but could buy the bottle in town for 6!! Expect a Mark up but this was a joke.

Family accommodation, pleasant staff, dining experience

The staff were very good, no fussing. The food was tastefully prepared and presented. Martino, the barman, was cool.

The magnificent setting & beautiful design & style of the hotel. The comfort & luxury, kind & attentive staff & delicious food. The lovely swimming pool area, well serviced & maintained.
