Villa La Principessa  

We thoroughly enjoyed our week's stay in this luxurious villa, its ambiance reminiscent of a bygone age. To sit in its beautifully furnished lounges, large gardens of trees and lawn, or by the pool was very relaxing. Our Standard Room together with the bathroom were both very spacious and well appointed. The staff were friendly and helpful and the service was excellent. We particularly enjoyed the extensive breakfast of hot and cold dishes which we ate on the terrace. The hotel is well placed for Lucca and local restaurants but one's own transport is essential.

Beautiful grounds and pool

Modern art seemed out of place with the heavy drapery/wallpaper. we had to switch rooms because of a broken toilet. the rooms were clean but there was peeling paint of the ceiling

Beautiful hotel, gorgeous surroundings and gardens. Outdoor pool is very nice. The staff are all very courteous.

No room service, or at least, there was no information about how to order, say, tea or coffee to your room. This is a bit inconvenient because there are no tea/coffee/kettles in the rooms (for an understandable reason). You can, however, get refreshments via the bar.

We liked the size of the room, the architecture, and the building itself. The included breakfast is excellent!

We thought there could have been more community among guests.

The garden around the pool area allows for you to relax amongst wildlife. Clean pool area. Staff were very professional and very helpful.Parking is good. There are no tea/coffe making facilities in the hotel which was disappointing and when we stayed there in Oct the hotel did not offer lunch. Overall though a very pleasant stay.

Grand hotel in old style with plenty of original features yet with all the modern attributes normally required today. Most of staff were helpful and enthusiastic . Restaurant was good quality but expensive.

Odd just of background music - Simply Red, which was often on repeat. English newspapers would have been nice

Very nice hotel in a quiet garden. Friendly staff. Good location for a visit to Florence, Lucca, Pisa, ...

We were only there one night but found it delightful. Our room was a little old fashioned but fair value for money - dinner was lovely

The space, funky decoration and pictures which mix well with the baronial style of the villa; nice garden dinning area, the gardens, the pool looked good. Bedroom size was good with ample seating.

The lack of a terminal / PC for free internet access. The fact that internet access, wireless, was not free. I understand the management are looking to address this. Dinner prices are on th e high side and potions are not the most generous but staff are attentive. Its a shame they don't have any English language news paper, not even one.
