Tremezzo is a perfect gateway for a city escape.
Tremezzo is a perfect gateway for a city escape. We drove around the entire lake and realized that Tremezzo’s view is indeed the most impeccable while the convenience is still there. Compare to other small towns alongside lake Como, Tremezzo is in connection with nearby towns that has more than enough stores for shopping, groceries, laundromat, banks, eatery, and views (Tremezzo too has sufficient stores that support a longer holidays). If you are on foot, this is perfect.
If you are on foot, this is perfect. If you are looking for a base to explore the area by car this is a disaster as there is no parking but then again I dont think there is anything in Lake Como that is not 10x more expensive that comes with free parking. You are better off going to Lake Garda or Maggiore

Stunning landscape.
Stunning landscape. Absolutely beautiful, but I hated driving around Tremezzo and Lake Como, I would stick to the speed limits and locals would overtake on blind bends. Very stressful. Some excellent food, expensive but worth it, but a lot more occasions poor food overpriced. And my life! there were some very unkempt toilets even in expensive restaurants. Shocking.

Tremezzo is the perfect place to stay on Lake Como for those...
Tremezzo is the perfect place to stay on Lake Como for those who want easy access (via ferry) to the most popular destinations, but want to be away from the crowds. The Lake Como Greenway path runs right through town and provides walking access to nearby towns along the west side of the lake including Lenno, where the wedding scene from the Star Wars prequel was filmed. There are several great restaurants in the area, ranging from fairly casual to fine dining.

Tremezzo is a tight little “village” with a beautiful “web” of old pedestrian streets connecting the area, dotted with very good restaurants, a nearby botanical garden and with easy access to various boat tours. In fact it is not a must to arrive be car to Tremezzo. Take a boat from Como and enjoy the many walking opportunities. May is perhaps the best time to visit the Como Lake due to its magnificent surroundings.Anne SarahDenmark

Facilities are great, and while the decor is an older style, the rooms are beautifully kept and clean. Note the hotel is up on the hill and not down by the lake's edge so getting up there with your bags is difficult by foot as it is a bit steep. But the hotel was fantastic and organised a taxi to pick us up and bring us to the top once we arrived in town. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Tremezzo and would come back again!!TarannumAustralia

I strongly recommend Tremezzo and Villa Marie as a place to stay: (i) Unlike a lot of other places around the coast this has a pavement on the road (so you can walk or run about without fear of being run over) (ii) the ferry stop is about 5 mins walk away and is very convenient for getting to all the main tourist spots (iii) there's other things to see and do around - Villa Carlotta is just up the road.

Charming apartment, with real character and an amazing view. We didn’t use the kitchen (we ate out) but it seemed well equipped. The bathroom was large and the washing machine was appreciated for all our laundry. The bed was super comfy too. Great that they had Netflix for the nights in too. We kept having those “pinch me” moments, staying at there. Wonderful stay.

The views from the living area were just as beautiful as the views from the hotel rooms. the AC’s are actual split units- not portable- and worked great! The stairs are a lot for someone with mobility issues; however, they are broken up between levels. The pool is 2 flights up higher but worth it for the privacy and views (if they would just trim the plants to see even more)😌. We would rent this again!

Because there were high temperatures this August. Very good location to take the ferry to Belaggio or Varenna. Perfect place for a family or 2 couples. Also, the very best is the attention of Matteo, the owner, really friendly and helpful and ready to explain to us how to make the most of the Lake. Totally recommended place.
