The rooms are spacious and comfortable, huge relax area with great view on the city, convivial breakfast, the owner Antonio is always ready to solve a problem or give suggestions for a good restaurant, adorable fluffy cat owns the place
You need a cab for reaching the centre, the showerhead was fixed on the ceiling for this reason it was a bit difficult not to wet the hair taking a shower (very minor issue!!!)
Staying at a charming villa where the owners live themselves. Lots of useful advice on where to go that really helped us. A quiet cosy place without all the hordes of tourists around. Free parking on site. Different niceties like an option to keep the car at the villa for some ours after checkout or providing guests with umbrellas.
Nothing to write home about. If you like walking like we do mind that there is some climbing on the way back to the villa. There is a bus, however, and the owners can provide you with tickets.
Everything. Very good position, just 5 mins by bus to the city center (Museo dell'Accademia). Parking. Wi-Fi. Shared room for dinner or relaxing. Will come back!
All perfect, keep these standards thank you and see you again
The hosts Josephina and Antonio were very informative about the Chianti wine region and some local restaurants in which to dine. The upstairs atrium was a great place to meet other guests. We took a short bus ride from their house to downtown Florence (bus stop right by the house) and having a car made side trips easy.
The breakfast was good but after 5 days we were looking for some eggs. Would definitely stay there again.
Everything was perfect and Antonio was a very good n' informative host..
Already enough has been written about the fantastic hospitability of Antonio and his sister - great hosts, can only add that he recommended a fantastic restaurant in town Fiesole nearby where we had excellent steak with view over Firenze, many thanks again. Breakfast is simple but was sufficient for us, great espresso basically enough by Italian standards :) Villa itself incl. the shared room upstairs fantastic, distance to city with bus easy to manage, just need to inform about bus times upfront (and can buy bus tickets from Antonio directly). Had trouble finding right number in the street given both car integrated navi as well as google maps had the number in a total different spot that made it a bit difficult in beginning to find, which is of course not the Villa's fault.
For people who like privacy and long sleep the sharing atmostphere during breakfast and the openness of the villa might need some getting used to. Starting 6.30 there was activity in the house with people going to breakfast which you can hear in the room but depends on personal preference. Personal taste but not a big issue: Not recommendable for people with animal allergies given they have cat/dog around and if you leave door open then cat will run into your room.
Staff was very friendly and helpful with our requests. House is a great setting with both antiques surroundings and modern enough for comfort. Bus stop right outside the house.
Nothing, everything was perfect.
Our stay there was exceptional and the owners of the villa (we met both) have contributed a lot to it, they were extremely welcoming helpful and treated us not as another set of guests, but gave a feeling of being "special" guests, although we stayed just for 1 night. The villa has a special atmosphere. It is located on one of the hills of Florence in a quiet area among other villas. The bus stop is just next to the villa gate and in some 10 min will get you to the city centre, but it is also possible to walk (20 min). Also, very useful, there is place to park your car safely. In addition, you can enjoy evening drinks or breakfast on the terrace or when the weather is not so nice, relax in the attic lounge room. The villa shows signs of time, do not expect something extremely posh, but that's exactly the beauty of it and if you want to have a memorable stay in Florence - this is a place to be. We would come back, I'm sure. Thank you, Josephina and Antonio!
Nothing in particular. Some small details, but they are well compensated with all of the +++++
Everything was just perfect, but most of all the very helpful and sweet owner Giuseppina. If I ever visit Florence again, I'll definitely choose Villa La Sosta for my stay
all perfect fantastic atmosphere and the owner always keen to help
We spent 3 nights at this villa. It was amazing! Villa has own beautiful garden and relax room with great view on the hills. Breakfast was great, because villa's owner every day get fresh pies at local bakery. Very clean rooms. Villa has big privat parking. Great location not far from center of Florence, but beyond ZTL (Zone Transporto Limitado). Antonio is the owner of villa, and he is very friendly and charismatic guy. Villa La Sosta is one of the best places in Florence. Thank you, Antonio!
This was a well appointed B & B with everything you need to make your stay comfortable. Air conditioning was great. Bus was right outside.
The hosts of Villa La Sosta are just incredible. They are always friendly and helpful. From the first moment you arrive you don't feel like a stranger but like a part of a big family. Thank you Guiseppina for everything you have done for us, you will always stay in our hearts! Best wishes;-)
So many things to like. First of all, it was an oasis of calm after a busy day in the city. The owner was extremely helpful arranging reservations for tours and museums. Her recommendations for finding great Italian food were spot on. Our room was wonderfully quiet and comfortable. We arrived in Florence on a very late flight, however the Villa "waited up" for us, so there was no problem checking in late. We really appreciated their flexibility.
Nothing to say here!
very nice interior with old furniture. But you can also sit outside and have breakfast on the terrace and watch the beautiful garden around. Great host. You can park the car safely in front of the villa for free. That is a good bonus for the ten minute bus ride to downtown...
The host, location, wifi, villa, breakfast, decoration... It was all fantastic.
Sad we only stayed there for one night.
Cleanliness, friendly owner who when she realised that we were three in a quadruple room contacted Booking.com and reduced the cost. A wealth of knowledge re local information. nothing appeared too much trouble. An excellent stay
The hospitality of Antonio and Josefind!! Very warm owners who do everything to let the customers feel at home! I even left some shirts and Antonio send them to my home adress as a service!! Great place, lovely owners and just 8 min from Florence's city centre!! Must stay...;) Ciao, Don and Carola
Every thing was very good
The villa is wonderful, Giuseppina is super-nice, it was rather like visiting a friend than a B&B! We had wonderful days, the babies loved the garden and the upper floor. Thank you Giuseppina!!!!
I like it everything here. A gorgeous villa to spend nights in Florence. Absolute great value for money. Antonio is the best host I've met ever! On arrival he would note down all the places to visit in Florence and recommend local restaurants, which are great and you can't find it any traveler's guide. They are local so may only have Italian menu. Antonio is a brilliant guy and a great friend. He even invited me to his party, sharing great prosecco and gelato. Overall, wonderful memories and brilliant time staying in La Sosta.
The B&B is in a lovely old home. Beautiful outdoor space. Breakfast was excellent. Antonio took excellent care of us. Room was spacious, clean and well appointed. Bus stops right out front and free parking is available. Quiet for sleep.
Distance from centre of town. Bus or Taxi required to come home at end of day/evening after long days of walking.
Our room was lovely and as we were there during an especially warm June, the a/c was a treat. Antonio was a wonderful host, even inviting us to watch the football game with he and his friends. He kindly invited us to his families' other property in Pisa, which we had the pleasure of enjoying for an afternoon. The bus stop right outside the Villa was an added bonus since there are restrictions on driving in the old city. Thank you for everything, Antonio and Josephine!
