Navigation, how to get there
- Food - View - Quality of the surroundings, attention to detail - Friendly personel - Bed - Breakfast
- In the street at the back live some noisy people
Food; friendly service; views and grounds; lovely pool; spacious, quiet bedroom; excellent spa bath, shower and bidet toilet. Short drive to access Villa Taranto gardens and lake ferries for Isolas
Tricky to find - directions and maps from Google not detailed enough. Vehicle access to parking not for the nervous driver!
The character of the buildings and landscaped gardens, padded loungers in the garden and around the pool, very peaceful with views of the lake in the distance. Wonderfully comfortable bed and amazing jacuzzi bath and facilities in our ensuite.
Oggebbio is a very small place set 300 metres up the hill with not much else there.
The view from the living room The restaurant The pool
Very small room View over a very tiny street
The location of the hotel is great. Easy to reach with enough parking. The park area is immaculately groomed and the the whole property was built using the best materials. The open space restaurant provides a beautiful view over the lake and surrounding hills. The food was good, the wine on offer great. The staff very helpful and friendly.
The wifi is depending on the weather (it comes in by radio signal since the village has not received their DSL yet) and often not easy to log on.
We stayed for one night, it was a beautiful place to stay. Everyone was friendly, food was very good.
The whole ambience of the hotel- the gardens and location. Excellent generous breakfasts and high standard of housekeeping. Reception most helpful with good suggestions about the local area, being multi-lingual helped. Would recommend.
In view of the high standards set and mostly achieved, was surprised when an armchair in our room that had a broken arm half-way through the stay was not removed/replaced.......
Everything!!!!!..... One of the best hotels I've ever stayed at....
Situation - with beautiful lake views and set high enough above main lakeside road to be very quiet. The room was excellent, food and wine very good, staff very welcoming and helpful, and the garden terracing layout was superb (and the scent of the jasmine in June was wonderful).
Only one minor complaint - coffee and tea was never hot enough!
Gorgeous location with a view of the lake from the room and the restaurant. Very helpful staff.
The room was small, no curtain in a shower.
This is a paradiese ! For us as individuell tourists perfect. The Personal is very very friendly, and the owner family have a "perfect gusto" for all. Every detail ist perfect, the Villa, the garden, the pool, the dinning, the rooms with view on the lago. If this place would be for selling, we would buy this place and would not change anythink. Thank you for a nice staying in your house.
As a garden lover, the Villa Margherita was situated in lovely wel maintained garden overlooking the Lago Magiore. It was really a silent place. We hope to return some day.
Gorgeous villa with lovely gardens and pool overlooking Lake Maggiore. We had a very spacious room with a lake view and a spa. Good value for money. There is a restaurant onsite and the meals were lovely. We had the beef fillet with porcini mushrooms (very tender & perfectly cooked) and requested a side of vegetables (the Chef cooked us spinach and potatoes, which were delicious). The second night we had pasta and ragu, which was tasty. The breakfasts were very good; lots of choice, including fresh fruit. The only negative was the water for tea and the coffee was not hot, but had we asked, that would have been rectified. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
You need a car to get around. A bit of a hike up steep stairs from the car park, but if you ask the receptionist on check-in, a nice young man will carry your luggage up to your room.
