We were delighted with this hotel. Very spacious rooms - very tastefully decorated with beautiful furniture. Very welcoming owner and staff. Easy (free) parking in spacious grounds. Barga's historic centre and some excellent restaurants an easy 5-10 minute walk away. Large pool not yet in use in early May but would be great in summer. Excellent value Excellent value - highly recommended. ery e ry nice welco

This is a buatiful 1920s house, carefully restored and full of lovely Art Deco features. Rooms and public areas are very airy and spacious. It is very much a family run affair and everyone is friendly and helpful. The pool and gardens are lovely. all in all, a very peaceful and relaxing place.

A grand old building in a wonderful medieval town. Barga is a great place. Villa Moorings won me over. Great location and I love the staff and warm friendly environment. We made friends with the hotel staff and a visiting Grandma who talked to us in Italy (and we talked to her in English). Not a new hotel - but tons of charm.

The welcome was very warm, and all our dealings with Beatrice and her team were warm, friendly and very helpful. There was an unavoidable problem with our room on arrival - not major. Beatrice was very obliging of us and moved us to a bigger room. She also helped us call Australia on a banking matter (we had no mobile phone! Never again.). The breakfasts were to die for. Beatrice makes the most wonderful cakes and biscuits - where are my recipes, Beatrice?! The lady doing the breakfasts loves her job, the pride shines through. Villa Moorings was a highlight of our 6 week trip. We will be back - if just to prise the recipe for the apple ricotta cake from Beatrice personally! We were there in high season for European holiday makers, and the children dominated the pool a bit, but that's what you get for traveling in August!

We booked this hotel as we were invited to a friends wedding in Barga - the main reasons for booking this hotel was that it had a swimming pool, we have young children & it was close by to all the amenities. All of the staff at the hotel were so helpful - they helped my family & I with the random things that having a young family throws up, nothing was too much bother - Beatrice the owner is a very genuine person who is down to earth & approachable as a hotel manager, she even joined us for a drink beside the pool. The hotel itself has a charming character with oddles of traditional tuscan features - my children called it the Museum!! My children loved the fact that there was a TV & a fridge in their room (mini-bar).

I loved my room. Gegli. Great views. Wonderful weather so used swimminh pool all the time. Peaceful. Didnt feel like a tourist, felt like family home. No one to help me carry luggage upstairs. Heavy case. Taxi driver dropped me on road and had to struggle up driveway also. They need to come up driveway to park.

Stayed there during jazz festival held in Barga- there was a dinner and live music which really made the stay special. The owner was very helpful and friendly, as were the other hotel staff. The building itself is beautiful- elegant and imposing internally. Our room was spacious and comfortable.

We enjoyed a very comfortable stay at Villa Moorings. There was a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, the rooms were comfortable and it had the bonus of an excellent outdoor pool. The breakfasts were amazing with fabulous fresh products. I hope to be back next year for an even longer stay!

Pretty much everything. Great room with a balcony to relax on. Nice pool with lots of loungers etc. Wonderful location. On edge of Barga suburbs so can stock up on the odd beer/nibble or even food and a very short walk into Barga which is a lovely place. Would happily base myself here for a few days and explore surrounding countryside Thoroughly recommend.. Staff a bit hard to find at times if you wanted coffee etc. not really a negative

Beautifully restored villa with beautiful views, very centrally located-and a pool! The staff and owner were very polite, friendly, and extremely helpful. The breakfast was plentiful and included homemade baked goods. I have already recommended this place to friends and plan on staying here again on my next trip to Barga.
