Set 9 km from Siena, this 19th-century country house features a restaurant and outdoor pool. It offers traditional Tuscan rooms with wood-beamed ceilings, surrounded by sunflower fields.
Score from 315 reviews Wonderful
In the hills of the Chianti wine district, this 15th-century villa is now a 4-star hotel with swimming pool, tennis court and Tuscan restaurant with terrace offering panoramic views.
Score from 337 reviews Excellent
Villa San Giorgio is set in a recently refurbished, typically Tuscan country cottage of the early 20th century, located in the heart of the Chianti area, overlooking the Elsa valley.
Score from 354 reviews Very good
Very welcoming and genuine atmosphere. Beautiful surroundings and a nice swimming pool.
The bathroom wasn't as clean as we'd like it to be.
We had great time at the place!! The location is amazing if you have a car and GPS, otherwise it'll be hard to find... The breakfast was excellent (both tasty and various)! For dinner it might be better to arrive early or go to eat in one of Tuscany's towns. The red wine "rogaia" is really really good: ) Staff is very helpful during the morning but in the evening you'll find little help if you only speak English so ask all of the questions you have for advice tips in Tuscany or the villa facilities Bottom line- very good place only for car owners
Staff very friendly and helpful. The room was not completely finished but clean nevertheless.. We enjoyed our stay and think the villa was good value for the money paid. Fine meals in the evening too!
2 chairs and little table in and outside would have made the stay more comfortable.
Location and style
The food was great. the staff were helpful in the context of a lack of organisation.
The rooms we were initially given did not have the facilities that we had reserved. The solution we were offered to the problem was virtually a dungeon. We had to insist repeatedly, being shown a series of 4 rooms that were progressively less horrible, until we were finally offered accomodation that came close to the description and the photos in our booking.com reservation. Even then there was seldom any hot water. To their credit the hotel did offer us free breakfast and evening meals to compensate for the inconvenience.
-Very good service from the hotel staff, good breakfast (but if you arrive late you will find almost nothing to eat; you have to ask for what you want if you want to eat), beautiful location - Cristina, the receptionist, is very kind and helpful
- Wifi is very intermittent and almost never works late evening or early morning; - the pool was dirty (many leafs on the weater) and nobody cleaned it; so in three days we didn't enjoy any bath
Location (quiet, nature) swimmingpool (cold water) Friendly Staff Spatious rooms Everyday cleaning
Diner isn't special, sometimes even disappointing. The closest place to eat is a pizza picknick area (nice pizza) or at least a 15min. drive to a restaurant. Maintenance of the grounds is below average. Also the maintenance guy is doing half work when cleaning the pool or fixing an problem with wasps in our room. We had a lot of creepy crawlies in our room, maybe it was the season. Wifi wasn't working half of the time. Looking at the details our room seems not to be finished yet.
Nice place. Close to many Tuscan attractions.
Staff very incorrectly solves the problem. Tried to accommodate us in a category lower than the room we had ordered. After our complaints as a reason reported for failure in the kitchen, then a broken bed. None of it was true.
The breakfast was an excellent selection of sweet and savoury bites, tarts, great omelettes, local charcuterie, fresh fruits and vegetables. Great swimming pool. Nice environment overall. Helpful and friendly staff.
Everything was perfect, but just a little hint. The water in the swimming pool horribly irritated our eyes. Understandably it must contain some chemicals to avoid getting green, but perhaps it could be handled in a better way (other swimming pools in Tuscany had reasonable fresh water).
Nice layout...lovely staff
Weather.....not that anything could be done about that!
Very beautiful Tuscany villa, looks in live even better than the pictures. Excellent breakfast.
A car is a must. The Villa is best be found by using the location coordinates in your GPS.
Location, pool, staff
WiFi did not work
Very good service from the hotel staff, beautiful landscape and nature!
Wifi is very intermittent and almost never works late evening or early morning.
Nice people, nice atmosphere and very nice accommodation. Go there!
The location and villa is beautiful, very tranquil place, ideal for a romantic or a get-away stay. Staff is very friendly, English speaking. Food excellent.
The entire place was beautiful. Upon entering the gates, we could see that this was going to be a very nice place. Nestled in the hills of Tuscany, it was beautiful land and what we thought a villa could be. We the room was comfortable and adequate space for two; bedroom and bathroom. Fresh towels and linens every day. We had dinner the first night there. It was delicious. Breakfast every morning was a buffet of meats, cheeses, pastries, juices, fruit, café, cappuccino. They would always ask what type of beverage we would like with breakfast. Gabrielle, the mgr was very helpful in suggesting a place to go and do wine tasting, which was great!! All the staff there was helpful and very accommodating. It was quiet, peaceful and tranquil. I would definitely recommend this a great place to stay and would go back.
+ Very peaceful and quiet + Central location between Sienna, Monteriggio, Volterra, Colle Val D'Elsa + Service, hospitality and friendly staff + Beatifull environment
- Had to go back home :-(
The manager & chef put heart and soul into making our stay excellent. They are very good hosts and gave us good personal attention.
The wifi connection was intermittent.
Great staff, excellent food (morning and evening), nice building
Far away from the next village and next restaurants.
Quit surrounding only.
Breakfast low averige, industrial marmelade, butter, yoghurt, juice. Only 1 white brad with no taste. Never eat dinner - they cannot provide their guests with complete food as ordered nore bring quality or even the menu complete! We like most of guests left angry the dinner room but personal did not take notice and just ate themself dinner in the kitchen! The pool was dirty and not maintained.
Beautiful garden. Friendly staff. Rooms are clean and have much space (very important for guests with kids). Tasty breakfasts (various dishes) and attentive service. Thanks a lot!
-Very friendly and helpful staff (especially massimo because of his great english language skills and knowledge about the region) - quiet place, not crowded. -great value for the money - fantastic breakfast buffet - delicious menu for dinner which is definitely worth the money - new bathroom - beautiful historic villa with a nice garden and swimming pool (the alley looks very fancy when you arrive there - tv channels in different languages -
- a little tricky to find and only accessible about a long narrow winding road. But you will be rewarded with a quiet piece of nature and the great hospitality of the staff. Don't hesitate to book this place. It is definitely a good choice.
In a very quiet area and made for a peaceful stay. Easy to get to all surrounding villages including Volterra, San Gimignano, Sienna and Florence. Continental style breakfast was good and the 1 dinner that we had was great and was reasonably priced.
Upon arrival the grounds were unkempt. After 2 nights the grass was finally mowed and the outdoor dining area had tables strewn about with no chairs. We were there May 9-13 along with a handful of other rooms and it was almost as tho they didn't know were all coming. The landscaping definitely could use some tlc because it could be fabulous.
Excellent hotel if you want to get away from it all. Friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast and dinner if you choose to eat at the hotel. My only complaint would be the showers as you need to use a handheld shower head rather than have the shower head attached to the wall fo the shower. While this might be easy for men, for women with long hair, it can be a pain.
Very remote. No village within 40 minute drive from the villa.
