Relax on the grounds at this friendly hotel, in the popular area of San Lorenzo in the center of Rome, surrounded by typical restaurants and cafés.

Hotel Villa San Pio is on Rome's green Aventine Hill. Made up of 3 separate villas, it offers free parking and quiet gardens. The elegant rooms feature hardwood floors and decorative walls.
Score from 698 reviews Excellent
Room very comfortable, staff extremely friendly and continental breakfast choice excellent. It was lovely sitting outside during this time. Private car booked for transfer to airport was wonderful.
Apparently at this time of the year mosquitoes are very bad. We were given some spray to use but still had a few problems. However neither of us have adverse reactions to mosquito bites. It is a pity there aren't wire screens on the windows, but this may not be easy to do.
the staff and the hotel. Hotel very clean, well presented, reception staff and service excellent; friendly but professional. Room presentation excellent with nice finishing touches and mini-bar not a rip off. Breakfast range and ambience in conservatory wonderful.
We had only booked two nights
We needed a new passport and this hotel is located 50m away from the Australian embassy. Very friendly staff and nice, clean room- very quiet!
the terrace is nice
windows are not very soundproof..traffic noise outside all the time
The environment is very calm and the security of the area is very good. I like the facilities in the room and the attitude of the staff. The location is few minutes walk from the metro station but since every bit of Rome is marvelous to behold, we decided to walk into the city; appreciating the beauty of old Rome. Another option is the availability of taxi to and from the airport.
Breakfast, staff, confort of the room.
The equipements of the bathroom were a little bit obsolete (radiator, silicone seal of the bath).
i liked : - kindness of people who works in the hotel - Price !!! - Breakfast very good - Rooms are good, confortable and clean - A/C and wifi run well - You walk 10/15mn and you can take the metro (Bologna station) to go to center of town
- shower cabin is very very small....I'm not big but it's impossible to bend down without touching the cabin. - nothing else !!
Hotel was clean, staffs were so kind and helpful!! We were so happy to stay there. Also, the breakfast was nice with the price(including). I recommend this hotel!!
Wi-fi, the connection is not strong. Shower room is quiet small.
Villa Pirandello was great - very clean rooms, great staff, very helpful, wi-fi worked great. The place was close to a main bus station with only 5 bus stops from termini. You could take metro as well but it was a bit further than the bus stop. I would use bus rather than metro. The staff had ready for you printed maps on how to get to the metro, maps of close by restaurants, which was very nice of them. One morning, we had to leave early and one night before they prepared breakfast bags for us to take them with us. All the staff were very friendly and you felt cared and at home. The location was surprisingly next to many embassies like Australia, Qatar, Malaysia, etc., meaning the area was upscale, safe and quiet. The price I got cannot be beaten so, it's hard to complain but here are some improvements that may not cost much...
The breakfast was very basic, it was enough not to leave you hungry but, with mostly sweets, I wished it had eggs and more choices of bread and meat (example, to have at least turkey or chicken, not just pork based meat). We got two recommendations for restaurants but none turned out good in both nights! In one, a family run restaurant and seemingly Hotel Pirandello's top pick as I was recommended by two different people, waiter and owner were very rude just because we didn't get wine and treated us very badly afterwards ignoring us; the other was very simple, a somewhat creepy place that didn't inspire, and didn't have any good or variety food. According to my GPS, there were many other restaurants in the exact area with much better views and reviews. I recommend the hotel to either change their list of recommendations of the restaurants or to simply give their guests a list of restaurants for them to choose, but definitely not to recommend the ones they currently do!
The hotel is close to Bologna station( metro), quiet, beautiful place. Friendly and helpful personnel.
When checked in the room had a weird smell( we had the ground floor) but went away after opening the windows. Beware of mosquitos !
I loved the location for it's feeling of being away from lots of tourists. The staff were helpful in booking a taxi for us when leaving. The terrace was just a beautiful place to have breakfast each day, listening to the birds and smelling the sweet fragrance of the flowers. A lovely Yate of Rome!
Very helpful staffs
WIFI connect is not so good
In no particular order.... The room, the neighborhood, the staff, the breakfast, the decor, the towels, the natural light.
Hope I am not being picky but...shower stall needs a soap dish
Perfect location, perfect room, perfect service, perfect breakfast, perfect and friendly staff.
We loved everything about the hotel!
Staff remembered special little things, always helpful and available. Rooms kept very well. Not interrupted by staff, so could have quiet moments. Everyone seemed happy. Hotel was in a great spot.
Airconditioning in the lounge area was not on during very hot days.
Public transport close. Easy to get to all attractions. Enjoyed the cakes at breakfast.
Buses to/ from hotel very crowded and in the Roman extreme hot, travelling was uncomfortable.
Nothing to add to the more detailed descriptions - we have been some times in Rome before but discovered something new and pleasant (hotel and surroundings).
Although the hotel has been refurbished with some style, budgets seem (to have been) limited. For example, in our room there were the ancient single-pane windows, of which one even did not close properly. That's only no problem if you normally sleep with windows open. And for a superior room we would have expected a little more space.
Excellent breakfast, obliging staff, pretty residential area close to the tube station The sweets and chocolates in our bedroom were a nice welcome
Staff very very helpful. Facilities excellent...
We liked the warm friendly staff, the friendly welcome, the large spacious room, the attention to detail was excellent including the daily breakfast which was superb.
Lovely and quiet room, close to transport. Staff very helpful and friendly. Breakfast very nice and good variety. Loved our time there.
We loved the look of this place. Really cute and nice outdoor patio for breakfast. Their included breakfast was great - best hotel breakfast we had in Italy. The staff went out of their way to be helpful, including storing our bags for the day after checkout. We liked that the location was more suburban and out of the chaos if Rome.
The hotel was about a 10 minute walk from the metro, which is a little tough to walk with luggage. It's in a more suburban area, so not walking distance to any sites. The walls were thin and lots of outdoor noise could be heard and may wake up a light sleeper, but we found this to be the case at most Italian hotels. We didn't like the shower because it leaked a lot of water into the bathroom (didn't have a good shower door).
Clean hotel; way over 3 star rating expectation. Convinient location, fresh food, lovely staff.
We needed a hotel room for only one night before joining a tour group at another hotel. We chose Hotel Villa Pirandelllo because of its reasonably priced rooms. We arrived late (about 7pm) and left after breakfast so didn't have to catch the train into the city. The hotel arranged a car to pick us up (20 euros if I remember right) from the airport so we avoided having to figure out the train system in a new city. The breakfast was quite impressive with a variety of things to sample. Nicola prepared hot beverages to order, which was very good.
We joined our friends, who had arrived earlier in the day. They had caught the train to the Colleseum but on the way back to the hotel, after getting off the train, lost their bearings and had the hardest time finding the hotel. They also said the nearest restaurant was many blocks away so we ended up eating the snacks we brought with us for our dinner but had a nice breakfast the following morning.
