This refined villa resides on one of the most fascinating hills around Florence, 6 km from the famous city and surrounded by a tranquil landscape of flowers and olive trees.

Built for a noble military family who were political and economical allies of the Medici, this villa is an elegant historical residence dating from the 16th century that is set within serene scenery. The family added to the artistic and architectural value of the villa. The present owners, in collaboration with an expert Florentine architect and Tuscan craftsmen, refurbished the natural historic heritage of the property.

Housing elegant apartments and sumptuous suites, this luxurious residence is improved by a gorgeous swimming pool, peaceful ambience and thoughtful facilities. Its proximity to Florence, 6 km from the Duomo, and other places of interest make for a perfect base from which to explore this beautiful region.

Our large and refined suite offers guests the opportunity to experience a stay in an enchanting Tuscan villa. Our luxury apartments combine comfort with privacy. Every one has been individually and tastefully restored. Each unit is bigger than 50 m². Attention was given to every detail and fittings such as the Persian carpet, antique furniture and valuable ceramics, as well as the interior decor in Serena stone and marble. The majority of the sitting rooms include a fireplace, double sofa bed, outdoor area and breathtaking views of the Florentine hills. Our leading points are surely the professional daily cleaning service and the in-room breakfast.

Area information

In the vicinity of the villa there are famous restaurants and typical trattorias, recommended for their excellent Tuscan food and prestigious wine cellars. Also nearby there is a tennis club, a covered swimming pool, a riding school, an open city market, a supermarket and a laundrette.

We went to Venice, on a 7 day cruise and then we drove to Florence for a few days and stayed at Villa Poggio Ai Merli. Everyone was friendly, the grounds were beautiful, and the room was perfect. My husband and I wished we had more time to spend at the hotel. I would recommend to anyone to stay here if they are going to Florence.

Make sure you have a car. The hotel is about 8 miles from the city and there is really nothing in walking distance.

In particolare l'atmosfera di serenità e la cura nei minimi dettagli, dal giardino agli appartamenti. Lo staff è non solo disponibile e professionale ma importantissimo a mio avviso, amichevole con discrezione, pronto a risolvere il minimo e più "banale" problema, seriamente interessato alla cura del cliente in qualità di persona. Tornerò per godere di questa sana ospitalità per più tempo!

Nessun aspetto non gradito anzi consiglio a chi desidera visitare Firenze di approffitare di questa struttura, immersa in un piccolo pezzo di paradiso.
