Internet is sometimes slow and coverage inside room is not very good.
Room is dark because of inside and outside shutters on all windows.
This is a farmhouse in an olive grove just outside of Scandicci. It
consists of several buildings. We were the only guests at this time. It
is a very rustic place, lots of history with family portraits on the
wall, antique furniture, wood beam ceilings, stone flooring, wall
paintings, old window shutters, interesting faux painted walls imitating
frescoes etc. Room was big with desk and chairs. Private bathroom was
outside the room just down the hall, newly renovated and large.
Breakfast was served in the dining room downstairs, fresh croissants,
home-made marmalades, prosciutto, salami, cheeses, egg, cake, bread,
coffee and juice. The owner is friendly and explained some of the
history. There is a library with lots of really old books.
Parking is onsite.
The location is perfect for visiting Florence. The B&B is a short drive from the tram station with free parking in Scandicci. From there you take a 15 min tram ride for Euro 1.20 into town and don't have to worry about parking in Florence. Also there is a large Coop supermarket next to the tram station, a great place to stock up on Tuscan food items.
