The only minor criticism we had was the lack of tidying up and sweeping of the terrace and paths outside the hotel.
We had a large very comfortable room in the main building and it was well worth paying the extra room rate for it as the rooms in the annexe are small and unexciting. The buffet breakfast was fine with all the usual breakfast fare (juices, yogurts, fruit, cereals, cold meats, cheese, rolls, croissants, scrambled and boiled eggs (cold) but no hot dishes. The dinner was excellent and extraordinarily good value at only 20 euros for 3 courses with a choice of 4 dishes on each course and the menu changed daily.
All the staff were very friendly and welcoming, and were a great help with planning sightseeing days in Pisa, Lucca and Florence.
