Lovely courtyard garden. Receptionist had very good english and was happy to help. Breakfast was good esp sweet cake. Room was big and clean. Shutters made room totally dark which was great for sleeping. Very difficult to find, it's up a tight alley, which tou have to drive your car to get to the locked garage( which you really need). Area around the Hotel is really dirty and we felt very vunerable walking around streets in the evening just trying to find a restaurant, not a pleasant experience. Staff were slow to replenish breakfast food when they ran out (which happened everything a lot). Toilet was noisy, and hairdryer was held together with brown tape.Very busy main road outside our window, could hear traffic all night including lots of lorries etc.

Friendly staff and the way the rooms were decorated and furnished. This is the second time that I have stayed at the hotel, and it was mainly because I enjoyed my first stay there so much. This visit though was not as comfortable as the first. This time I was given a room facing the street and it was very noisy. I was awakened by traffic several time during the night. There were alot of tv channels to chose from if you were not planning on going out in the evening, but they were all in Italien (Yes, I know I was in Italy, but it would have been nice with one or two English or German channels, especially if you don't speak Italien).

Location is really good for travellers using both train/ bus. The hotel is easy to find and reach from the main train staition. The staff was really kind. Room facilities are quite old. Noisy sound comes from the bathroom when using water, and too small places to shower. Light of the room is not really bright. I think it need to be improved.

Was lovely room for a good price. The city centre is in walking distance (10 to 15min) and there are a lot of pubs and restaurants on the way into the city Was quite noisy on a Sat nite because the main street is just one junction away (even though the main station is also just 100m away there was no train during Sa nite)

Staff was very helpful; interior surprisingly well-desiged & maintained; courtyard & breakfast room were very pleasant. The location was good for us because we wanted to be near the train & bus station. Neighborhood not scenic (but about what one expects near a train station). Basically there were no problems.

Staff were very helpful. Location was close to transport. Lovely garden areas with piped music...very restful. Over decorated and gaudy to the extent of being oppressive.

I have stayed in lots of hotels during my 5 week stay in Italy so have a good idea of hotels in the £50 - £60 price range. This was the best by a long way - beautiful hotel and helpful friendly staff. If you are lucky to get Francesco on reception you will be very lucky. He was so friendly and helpful - the nicest person I have met in Italy so far. Should have stayed longer!

The room was very nice, the location fabulous for those without a car and the staff friendly and helpful. It is within walking distance from the train station, bus terminal, to major attractions, shopping, food and a wonderful market.

The staff was really kind. I have choose this hotel because it is near the bus and train station but for those who don't like to walk, it is a 10 to 15 minutes walk to the center. In late evening or at night for a single woman, it is not really fun to walk back to the hotel.

It is situated near the bus/train terminus and not far from the main roads of the city. The room was very comfortable and with a nice view of the internal garden, very relaxing. The staff was very very helpful and nice. Good value for money. Although breakfast was good, when some of the tings finishes like the ham and cheese and the croissants, they aren't replaced with others. You have to go early to get the best of it.

The room was very spacious and classic in design. Although promised to have wifi in the room, it was never fixed till we left. Lots of visitors have to use wifi in the common room.

Grazie molto to Francisco, Carlo, Umberto (hotel reception employees) who literally went out of their way to help me from securing a Catania football match ticket to opening the lock in my luggage that even local mafiosi were unable to break open lol.

We loved everything about this Hotel. The room was spacious, clean, and the location were super. Great buy for the price. The front desk person, Carlo, was very accommodating and helpful. He spoke excellent English and helped us with getting transportation for a very early flight the next day. There were plenty of eating places close by the hotel. Do not "judge a book by its cover". When we first approached the hotel from the street I was quite apprehensive about it. However, when you actually get inside the building the Hotel is quite beautiful. There are relaxing sitting areas outside. We had access to one from our room. We give the Hotel and Carlo an a+. Missed breakfast due to our early flight. No complaints about anything!!!

The location of the hotel was very good, very close to the railway station and bus terminus. It was very clean and the rooms were big and spacious and very nicely decorted. I really liked this hotel and will surely book again here for my next visit in Catania.

The staff was very helpful and competent. The style and furniture of the hotel much exceeded the promised category. The Platamone street itself is rather run-down, but since the Hotel is on the corner of a nicer street, this fact is not disturbing.

Clean, staff friendly and professional, good position close to railways and bus station, my room open to the internal patio ( no noise ), decoration maybe a bit kitch but well manteined and somehow charming. Rooms on the street could potentially be noisy ( better to select at the moment of the reservation). Some smell from toilet pretty unpleasant .. same smell in road so not a fault of the hotel itself but it could be pretty annoying to someone a bit sensible

“It was very well positioned, right in the main street of Catania (Etna) with a great view to Mount Etna. Excellent view towards Etna Av. Very clean room and bathroom. Hotel staff was helpfull and were able to talk in English. The breakfast was very well served and they would even make capuccinos for us. The room had a fridge and air conditioned. Definitely a place where I would stay again and recommend.” Bruno, Gemunde |
