The Twentyone is a modern boutique hotel on Via Cola di Rienzo, one of Rome's best shopping streets. Castel Sant'Angelo and the historic center are just a pleasant 10-minute walk away.
Score from 1553 reviews Very good

The staff is really friendly and helpfull. Almoast every day we were asked if they can help with suggestions for our daytrips in Rome. Specially the help which tram and bus brings us to our destination was always helpful. Breakfast was enough and the staff was friendly as well. Our room was small but comfortable and clean.
The location is a bit out of the center. Therefore a tram station is almost in front of the hotel door and the guy at the reception always helps with directions and tram-numbers to take.
Really clean room. Old fashioned Italian style in a hip location.
Very friendly and helpful staff nice roof terrace
The staff was extremely polite. Breakfast.
The staff would be an assett to any hotel. All of them from reception to the cleaners were excellent.
I'm afraid the location was for us too far out of the city and in a district, although safe, was covered in graffiti. The bus and tram service was ok but twice we were abandoned by public transport and had to walk back. Just as well we were fit enough to do this.
A little out of the centre
Warmth and helpfulness of staff....outstanding.
A little away from main attractions
Very straightforward and very good value. The hotel was very clean and the staff friendly, helpful and efficient. The breakfast was excellent and everything worked well.
I made an error with my booking which wasn't entirely cleared up even after phone calls and emails. The area is not the most glamorous in Rome but is very convenient for Termini and for Tiburtina stations.
All the staff were fantastic. Very helpful and very kind. We were there for six days and could not have asked for a nicer time. The elevator was a blessing. Don't miss Happy Hour outdoor cafe style. Great fun. The breakfast was just right to start each day. Wonderful stay.
The showers were the size of a typical RV shower stall. We found out half way through our week there is the option of a open shower. Our son was moved. The staff were very willing and helpful in the transition to the new room.
The hotel is a little far off from the city center, but near to Colosseum and tram and bus are near to approach all places. Super nice staff, cosy hotel, price is great for what you get!
Very helpful staff, especially reception and hotel manager. Hotel is clean, very nice quality of sleeping. I was expect the way to the centrum longer than was it, by tram you are there really quickly.
This is a super boutique hotel. The hotel was quiet; the staff were outstanding; the breakfasts were delicious (lots of choice); the rooms clean; and the lounge area, roof top deck and outdoor patio in front of the hotel were pleasant retreats. Good restaurants, all reasonably priced, were a 5 to 10 minute walk from the hotel - the advantage of staying outside the main tourist area. An excellent grocery store was right next door. All in all I'd highly recommend this hotel!
Although the location was some distance from Roma Centro a tram was a few steps away that ran to the Colosseo - a good entry point to the old city. Two complaints: the beds were very firm and the shower was extremely small.
This hotel was really quaint and authentic. The staff were so eager to please, offering us welcome coffees was a really nice touch. They also made it clear they were on hand to assist with any questions and advice on Rome. Our room was fine, it was a generous size and decorated nicely. The breakfast is really generous! Definitely enjoyed that
Our bed wasn't a double but two singles joined together, this seems to happen a lot in Italy but it can make for a bit of an uncomfortable sleep. Also the hotel is a bit of a hike from terminus station, maybe offering a pick up/drop off service from the station would be a nice touch?
Very welcoming, friendly, helpful staff. Comfortable, peaceful and traditional setting.
Lots of graffiti in surrounding area.
The staff are lovely and all very helpful, the room was good, well decorated, simple but clean. Breakfast was good.
The area around is not that great, but when you get to the hotel it's an oasis!
Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this lovely boutique hotel. The staff were outstanding! They arranged taxi pickup at the airport and booked three day tours for me. They went out of their way to make me feel comfortable and at home. My room was cleaned thoroughly each day and sheets were changed every other day. My room at the back of the hotel was very quiet - a condition I had requested when booking. Breakfast choices were excellent. Particularly enjoyed two selections of fresh fruit and varieties of croissants every morning. Although the hotel was outside the old city, a tram connection to the Colosseo was a short 3 minute walk from the hotel. A number of good local restaurants within easy walking distance from the hotel. They tended to reflect neighborhood prices. All in all a very pleasant hotel. Highly recommended.
Compared to American hotel beds, the bed in this hotel was very firm - presumably an Italian standard.
My Friends and I loved sitting on level five after long and exhausting days in Rome. The area in front of the hotel and the rooftop were delightful for relaxing. The staff at the front desk were incredible and went way out of their way to assist us with all kinds of requests - from eating suggestions to transportation. Their suggestions really helped and we found "right on." I loved that the neighborhood felt very "Italian" - not like I was in the middle of a "tourist zone". Transportation convenient and an adventure. Breakfast, staff, cleanliness were all outstanding. I'd stay there again. Very reasonable cost.
Step up into the bathroom concerned me at first. I was concerned I might forget it in the middle of the night, but I got use to it. Not a big issue really. Bathrooms very clean.
This hotel was so quaint and everything we wanted. The room had character, the rooftop deck was peaceful, Antonio and Alessandro were so helpful, we loved the stay here. Breakfast was good. A block from the tram which went to all the major sights. Great value for the money.
Room size was ok, a little small, but the shower was really small. If you get a room facing the street you will hear a lot of street noise during the day. At night, it's pretty quiet.
Nice outdoor area, pleasant staff, good breakfast, walking distance to the railway station and about 20 minutes walk to the Colosseum.
The room was on the small side, which was OK for a short stay, but maybe not ideal for a longer time.
The staff was extremely kind and helpful. They all speak English. The hotel has a nice inner courtyard, a little heaven in a rather dirty, poor neighbourhood.
The walk from Termini station is rather long. The hotel's location is rather far from tourist attractions and Trastevere.
Convenient location to bus/metro to get to tourist sites. Great, helpful staff and good breakfast.
The venue was very nice and the staff unbelievably helpful. I recommend them 100%.
My wife and I stayed at Villa San Lorenzo for four nights while we were in Rome on our honeymoon. The staff was super helpful and gave us great tips on all of the tourist sites and how to get there as well. One of the greatest features of this hotel was the fact that John Franco, our pseudo concierge, and his counterpart (who's name I forget) drew out a map for us of the entire city in relation to the hotel and told us what public transit to use. They also gave us great recommendations for restuarants that were off the beaten path and authentic. The hotel itself is beautiful and charming, we enjoyed many Aperol spritzes in the garden bar during happy hour there, and the room was just right. The breakfast in the morning was also delicious and fueled us for a full day of sightseeing. Will definitely be back!
Italian beds are not the most comfortable in comparison to American ones... Held true for most everywhere we went in Italy (4 cities, 3 regions) but these were the most comfortable of the least comfortable probably.
It is ok because it's near to Roma Termini ( 20 minutes walk), also you are close to tram station and near to supermarket. The staff are very polite and they give you useful information about how to get to touristic attractions. Variat breakfast. Nice garden ( small but nice)
Very, very, very small room and bathroom, old furniture ( the bathroom door was rotten). The room did not have any view, in front of the window was a wall.
Charming, helpful staff, comfortable room, excellent breakfast. Tram journey to city centre, just a bit too far to walk.
