Just 650 ft from Re di Roma Metro, this modern hotel is in Rome’s San Giovanni area. It has an elegant lounge, free Wi-Fi, and air conditioned rooms with satellite LCD TVs.
Score from 744 reviews Excellent
The staff was extremely kind and helpful. They all speak English. The hotel has a nice inner courtyard, a little heaven in a rather dirty, poor neighbourhood.
The walk from Termini station is rather long. The hotel's location is rather far from tourist attractions and Trastevere.
Convenient location to bus/metro to get to tourist sites. Great, helpful staff and good breakfast.
My wife and I stayed at Villa San Lorenzo for four nights while we were in Rome on our honeymoon. The staff was super helpful and gave us great tips on all of the tourist sites and how to get there as well. One of the greatest features of this hotel was the fact that John Franco, our pseudo concierge, and his counterpart (who's name I forget) drew out a map for us of the entire city in relation to the hotel and told us what public transit to use. They also gave us great recommendations for restuarants that were off the beaten path and authentic. The hotel itself is beautiful and charming, we enjoyed many Aperol spritzes in the garden bar during happy hour there, and the room was just right. The breakfast in the morning was also delicious and fueled us for a full day of sightseeing. Will definitely be back!
Italian beds are not the most comfortable in comparison to American ones... Held true for most everywhere we went in Italy (4 cities, 3 regions) but these were the most comfortable of the least comfortable probably.
It is ok because it's near to Roma Termini ( 20 minutes walk), also you are close to tram station and near to supermarket. The staff are very polite and they give you useful information about how to get to touristic attractions. Variat breakfast. Nice garden ( small but nice)
Very, very, very small room and bathroom, old furniture ( the bathroom door was rotten). The room did not have any view, in front of the window was a wall.
Charming, helpful staff, comfortable room, excellent breakfast. Tram journey to city centre, just a bit too far to walk.
Small boutique hotel Good breakfasts Superb roof garden
The area of San Lorenzo itself is a bit iffy, but did not feel unsafe at any time when walking around
Staff were so helpful. So easy to get n abduction out of city centre. breakfast perfect.
Lovely character hotel, friendly very helpful staff, cozy bar with lovely cocktails!!
This hotel was a great find, has a nice little bar and courtyard and really felt like a little oasis in the middle of Rome. Good location, just a short 10-15 minute tram ride from the main sights of Rome. The best part were the staff though who were just so helpful, some of the nicest staff at any hotel I have stayed at. Also short 10 minute walk to the train station (although wouldn't necessarily want to do the walk late at night). Also some nice restaurants nearby
The location/street on which the hotel is based looks a little sketchy initially, but once inside the gates of the hotel, you completely forget about it.
The friendly staff
Everything in this hotel is good. And especially breakfast was too good so many varieties... Nice stay .Value for money..
Old bed and Lift
The hotel is located 200m from a train stop, easy to travel to historic landmarks. Hotel staff very friendly and helpful. They have some free parking on site. The balcony made the room. It doubled our space and was great for our 3 year old child.
It was perfect.
Excellent service from friendly, knowledgable staff Lots of help to plan our activities Clean localities Fantastic coffee!! Garden and roof top solarium Close to tram station Value-for-Money-restaurants in neighborhood
I loved our small balcony where we could spend the evenings talking. Really good communications with the tram 3 and 19 just outside the door. Great staff and very friendly atmosphere.
They cleaned outside early in the morning so my mother woke up (not me), but probably that effected just our room that I think was facing the street and the garden.
The hotel is nice, with a small garden. The room are clean and quiet, with stylish furnitures. The staff is very kind.
they have a wonderful terrace for an early morning coffee ora late drink before sleeping. The staff are so friendly. Location is fantastic to move from hotel to Roma Termini or to Collesseo to start a journey with the Hop-On-Hop-off buss
The smell of the Toilet as I noticed there was a leakage from the steel. For people not eating meet or chicken I expected to find more option in the breakfast
Location External design
Shabby old furnitures Very basic bathroom Staff can be nicer
The boutique villa atmosphere is all italian and way more classy than the price indicates. The backstreet local restaurants are the genuine thing.
Back street local makes findong it on the map challenging, but those that use a taxi will have no problems.
The staff were great. Loved the cocktail bar and the little garden. Nice roof terrace. Breakfast was good and better than I was expecting. Very good value for money.
It was not the easiest place to get public transport from, although the number 3 tram to the Colloseum was good!
Helpful, friendly staff
The very helpful staff, the hotel courtyard.
The staff were fantastic - so friendly and very helpful. The location is great - right near the tram to get you into the city. The location is also good in that San Lorenzo has cheap restaurants. I also think the hotel rate is very reasonable for Rome.
good service good value for money
little bit far from city center single room offers enough but limited space
very helpful staff; quiet; excellent breakfast; lovely courtyards; comfortable beds.
quite a long walk from Termini station; not near the metro;
Very helpful staff, pleasant staff contact, nice decor and outside facilities, excellent breakfast. Area was lively, ability to get transport was reasonable, newspapers were made available. Cocktail hour.
Wifi was erratic, in some places difficult to download, sometimes too weak.
