very good hotel, friendly staff, close to train, sites. great breakfast clean rooms, quiet neighborhood close walk to restaurants would very much stay there again.
Excellent breakfast in lovely garden situation with friendly staff. Comfortable room, good air conditioning.
Wi fi not consistently good in all rooms.
The location is excellent and quiet. The free parking is a plus if you travel by car, like us. The garden certainly creates a beautiful and relaxing atmosphere. The Aventino area is riddled with old and gorgeous villas. If you choose to travel by subway you are only about 10 min away from the nearest station. The Colloseum is accessible on foot, about 15 to 20 min away. If you want to dine out you have a variety of restaurants in the area. We enjoyed Rosso very much. A very happening restaurant, right next to the subway station Circo Massimo, with a great choice of food and drinks.
The bed was a little hard to my taste. The cleanliness could have been better. The breakfast could use a little more variety - for example they could offer olives, this being Italy and all.
Total tranquility in the Aventino after the crowded city. Breakfast, afternoon tea, late coffee in the shaded garden. A very pretty location. Without exception the staff are friendly but importantly knowledgeable. You can rely on the Villa San Pio.
We have no negatives.
Desk staff extremely helpful.
The breakfast in garden, the spa bath, the fab terrace on our sons bedroom, mini bar good overall loved it and would stay again
Wifi bit slow, small slow lift for size of hotel
The ambiance, the staff helpfulness, the beautiful peaceful garden terrace, the breakfast. So close to the city centre,,,10 mins walk to the Colosseum. Free car parking Wonderfully Italian rooms in a most stunning property.
Not a thing !!
The garden, roof terrace, breakfast area outside, and the location within a residential area, also handy for bus and metro.
Nothing all good
very bad internet access room 429 Small slow cramped elevator
Beautiful location, confort, friendly & efficient staff, great food, smooth sleep, bedroom design
No wifi in rooms
The area was very nice and convenient for lots of places to visit within walking distance. Great breakfast in hotel and staff very helpful. A little hilly in places but the view from the park at the top was fabulous overlooking a vast area of Rome. Trastevere was great for lovely restaurants with so much character. Can recommend the restaurant Perrilli near hotel very friendly, food good and friendly staff.
The green surroundings, the quitness-almost no traffic, inner garden, views from upper floors
Large comfortable room for 3 Quiet neighborhood Lovely grounds Great breakfast Attentive staff
After ten plus hours in transit, being handed a glass of cool refreshing grapefruit juice at reception brought my stress levels right down to zero and reminded that yes indeed, it was time to begin enjoying our holiday. Hidden in a grove of tall cyprus, palm and pine trees, San Pio is an oasis of calm. Our room, while perhaps in need of some updating, was spacious, clean and quiet. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom fabulously appointed with shiny green tile from wall to wall. Best of all, San Pio is within walking distance of the Circus and Palatine hill, while still offering guests a view into the day-to-day of an authentic Roman neighbourhood -- more upscale than most, but authentic. Top marks to San Pio: a definite gem in our family's travel chest.
The Wi-fi, particularly in our room, wasn't terribly reliable.
Staff very willing to accommodate
Friendly and helpful staff Relaxing surrounding
The staff were so attentive. Lovely surroundings.
Really-really nice hotel to stay in Rome:beautiful place with wonderful terrace on the roof with the personnel who always are there for you. Close to Circus Massimo and Colosseo. Beautiful! Highly recommended!
A little bit noisy in the mornings( cleaning stuff).
The breakfast, service, the location was quiet and the bed was large and firm.
The room and bathroom was not as accommodating as the previous time we had stayed over ten years ago (in a different block); location although quiet was not in the heart of things.
Everything. Marvellous breakfasts, excellent staff. Great location. Can't give it high enough praise
One minus, the beds are very, very hard, perhaps one could be offered a soft mattress topper for those who want a little padding.
Home from home - comfortable bed, v nice bedroom wi AC, Italian decor, marble bathrooms, lovely breakfast area both indoors and outdoors, warm friendly service at all times, smiling and humorous staff...
Setting, breakfasts, large rooms with good facilities
- air conditioning was ineffectual - location is a little bit out of town if you're looking for a down-town location (but if you want quiet in a classy neighbourhood, this is it)
Old villa, quiet location, friendly staff
The staff were very friendly and the quality of the rooms were great. It was good value for money especially since breakfast was included.
It was a bit far from the public transport links but the suburb is so nice you don't mind walking.
A lovely hotel in a quiet, residential area of Rome. It is close to the historic centre and Trastevere for nightlife.
If you're a woman travelling alone (as I was), it is quite a long walk down fairly dark and quiet streets back each night. The neighborhood felt safe, but was very lonely at night.
