San Simone is an elegant 19th-century villa set in a large park of over 60,000 m². Offering a swimming pool with panoramic views, it is 4 km outside of Pistoia. Villa San Simone is set on the site of what were once a medieval convent and a Romanesque church from the 11th century. Its extensive grounds have plenty of wild animals such as squirrels and deers, plus a spacious garden with table tennis and a BBQ. Rooms and apartments combine antique furniture with modern amenities including free Wi-Fi and an LCD TV with DVD player. Guests also have free use of the shared laundry room and the apartments come with a full kitchen with dishwasher. The villa is 10 minutes' drive from Pistoia Cathedral and the station for trains to Lucca and Florence. Free parking is provided. Friendly owners with good taste. Fine well restored monastry and grounds with lovely views across the valley. The good cooking class was enjoyed by both of us. Plenty of parking. Relaxing atmosphere. The access road up the hillside is steep and difficult to enter.

The accommodation and setting are both excellent. We had a large comfortable room and enjoyed very good breakfasts. This owners are friendly and provided excellent advice on local facilities and places of interest to visit. The instructions for finding the Villa need to be made clearer on the website. The steep drive is also a challenge is your arrive in a small car with little ground clearance. Tarmac on the bends would be helpful.

It was a beautiful setting with delightful hosts. The villa is stunning, the grounds are beautiful and the swimming pool a real treat. Easy access to major Tuscan attractions.

We stayed in Apartment Levante for 5 nights. Lovely views from many of the windows, and skylights added lots of light. Bathroom was spacious and had modern fixtures. Bed was very comfortable, much better than many of the other hard beds we had elsewhere. Villa San Simone was very quiet. About a 10 minute drive into Pistoia and the train station, about 5 minutes to a nearby shopping mall with large supermarket. Breakfast is not included, but everything you need is available at the supermarket and the kitchen in the room is fine. Sandro the owner was very welcoming too. Not appropriate for someone without a car, and better not to try to find this place the first time after dark. If you follow their driving directions, it's not hard to find, though.

the owner was incredibly helpful in making our stay pleasurable. we realised we were staying in the "garden city" and being keen gardeners wished to visit a grower. this was all arranged for us with maps and introductions! beautiful restful villa with lovely views and the room/suite was extremely comfortable and well kitted.We would recommend this to anyone looking for a location a bit off the well-beaten track in Tuscany.

Mooi plaatje. Ligt prachtig en met de mooie tuin, zwembad en uitzicht op het dal en de heuvels is het een pittoreske ervaring. Men is vriendelijk en doet erg hun best voor de gasten. Ontbijten in de tuin met dat uitzicht is werkelijk fantastisch. (brood is overigens niet de sterkste kant van Italië). Geen TV op de kamer (tis maar wat je wilt natuurlijk). Het is een echt familiehotel; wat handelen op eigen inzicht en weinig structuur. Dat is niet erg maar ik vergelijk het een professioneel ingericht hotel omdat de prijs hetzelfde is (zal wel voor het uitzicht zijn denk ik). Er zijn -buiten een prachtig zwembad- geen faciliteiten op het terrein. Dineren is er niet mogelijk en men spreekt eigenlijk alleen Italiaans. Alles is natuurlijk een kwestie van perspectief; ga je voor rust en wil je er verder niet op uit, kun je er gemakkelijk een paar dagen toeven. Oh ja, wel opletten dat je het bruggetje niet voorbij rijdt, anders stuurt je navigatie je naar een onmogelijke plek.

il posto è fantastico, i proprietari altrettanto, ti mettono a tuo agio come fossi a casa tua. L'appartamento ABSIDE per una famiglia con 2 bimbi come noi è perfetto. Molto grande e bellissimo. La colazione poi, meglio ancora se fatta fuori nel giardino, è eccellente.Il tutto a pochissimi minuti dal centro storico di Pistoia. Non avremmo più voluto partire....

Accolti con rara gentilezza dai proprietari. Speciale il ciambellone di mezzanotte e le marmellate a colazione. Particolare cura si riscontra nei particolari che fanno unici gli appartamenti. Grande pace negli spazi aperti del giardino e del parco. Un ottima scelta!

Très déçus.... Nous avions réservé une chambre d'hôtel dans une belle villa et nous avons eu un gîte avec un décor pas "très classe" et des sanitaires insuffisants voir sommaires. Pas de service de chambre (lit pas faits et sanitaires non néttoyés). Tout cela font que le rapport qualité/prix n'est pas au rdv. A ne pas recommander pour un couple en vacance amoureux des beautés de la renaissance!

Palazzo ristrutturato di recente in modo magnifico sulla collina di Pistoia. Luogo tranquillo, bel giardino con opere d'arte, piscina in mezzo agli ulivi. Appartamento curato e arredato con mobili di design. Due suggerimenti: in un posto così attento ai dettagli perchè non togliere quella tenda alla doccia? E sistemare un paio di ombrelloni a bordo piscina?

C'est une belle villa , dont une partie est très ancienne, avec beaucoup de charme. Elle est située dans les collines qui surplombent Pistoïa. La vue est belle. Grande piscine. Calme garanti. Il faut prendre la voiture pour vister Pistoïa, mais ce n'est pas compliqué . Parking gratuit dans la propriété. Acceuil personnalisé et aimable de la famille qui gère ces lieux . Chambres et appartements bien aménagés. A noter : c'est plus un bed and breafkfast de luxe qu'un véritable hôtel. .
