Excellent welcome by Carla. Wonderful accommodation and a quite and beautiful location.

The ONLY fault was the lack of laundry facilities, but realistically hand washing of clothes was good enough.

The amazing view, friendly greeting by Carla, information about the area, peace and quiet above the busy coast, perfectly positioned for boat trips to Capri and surrounding villages.

Pool was a bit smaller than expected but wasn't busy and we had it to ourselves mostly.

Lovely peaceful place, good sized apartment, helpful friendly staff with good English, beautiful gardens, easy walks to Ravello and the coast, no tv!

No Wi-Fi, no soap in bathroom or detergent for sink

Fantastic location, amazing views, of Ravello and the coast. For 4 people this was a brilliant apartment overall, with pretty good cooking facilities and seemed very new / well maintained. Great shower, and the Cot / High Chair for baby were perfect.

We took the 6 bed apartment for 4 adults and 1 baby based on other reviews and were glad we did, staying for 9 days the additional 2 beds are effectively the living / cooking / dining area and wouldn't have been practical with a small child. They advertise that they have a pool.. be warned it doesn't run all year around (June-September), as this was a key reason for our choice of apartment this was very disappointing. There is one nearby but you have to pay to use. Finally we only saw Carla on the day of arrival, we had her number if there were any issues, but it would have been nice to feel a bit more 'loved' (this is quite a small point and not really a concern).

Location was excellent, close to Scala and not far from Ravello. The apartment was clean and well equipped. The manageress, Carla, was most helpful.

Described as two bed roomed apartment, it wasn't, there is one bedroom, the second bed was a bed settee in the lounge/kitchen/diner. This was not ideal for my 20 yr old son

Marvellous view on Ravello and the sea. Gardens and other property of Villa Sant'Alfonso are very well taken care of.

Even in May the Costiera Amalfitana is already quite busy and crowded. I would never go there in July or August.

the room was spacious and very clean. there were ample supplies for self cooking, or cleaning. Housekeeping services were available for a fee if desired. The location was fabulous. High up on a cliff with a view of the ocean and an amazing balcony with bar b que to enjoy the view. It was also a very quiet location. We awoke to the sound of church bells. The people of Scala were warm and welcoming and we appreciated being away from the crowds and noise and yet a short bus or car ride from both Ravello and Amalfi. It is an ideal location but i selfishly hesitate to say that as i'd like it to stay relitively unknown:) Carla the host was informative and friendly.

the lack of wifi is a minor issue since it is available at the cafe in the center of the village but it would have been more convienient to have it on the property. the other issue, also minor, is the steepness of the driveway which mirrors the local roads in trickiness. neither of these are reasons to stay away though. this was a great place and we will come back.

The villa is located across the ravine from Ravello. From the villa, you can walk there as well as to Atrani, Amalfi, Minori, Minuta or Pontone (each one reached in under one hour). Our apartment (#4) was very spacious and bright, and its terrace had fantastic views of medieval churches in Ravello, Valle del Dragone, and the seascape at a distance. The apartment was also very close to the pool. Staying at a villa with a pool was a strategic choice, we could take a swim in the morning and in the evening (after the strenous ascent from the coast). Its working hours were posted but fortunately not enforced, so we could splash there even at night. The villa was unexpectedly secluded: civilization is all around you but none too close. Cooking facilities, bedding, shower etc etc - all in order. During our stay we only saw Carla the hostess twice: first, at our arrival and second, in the street of Ravello (incidental). I consider it a blessing. Our brief interaction with Carla was very helpful, she gave us valuable advice about sights and services in the neighborhood. The Info Center in Scala was also very friendly and well stocked, unlike its nose-up counterparts in Amalfi or Positano. I will not go into many details about the program side of our stay; resources on Costiera Amalfitana are abundant and available. It will suffice to mention that our strategy was to mix mountain walks and boat trips, church visitations and culinary exploration, swimming and sweating, city wandering and meditating at sunset. In the former Maritime Republic of Amalfi, you will have many choices in each of these categories. Enjoy!
