Villa Scacciapensieri  

A very nice hotel not far from the city center.

wifi access is limited to a specific area

Three things about Sacciapnsieri: localization, staff and confort. The hotel is ideally located to get in/out of Siena and 5 minutes regular bus from Siena historical district. The staff is very professional and helpful. Forget gps, ask the front desk for "cartolinas" (maps), they will show the inner roads and the "must see" places. Usually we tend to go out for dinner. In this case give a chance to the hotel restaurant. Superb. Menu and service. I do recommend the Villa Scacciapensierifor short or long stays.

Beautiful Italian gardens and view. Friendly and fully professional staff and service. Well equipped rooms.

The grounds of the hotel were beautiful and the views were stunning. The head waiter in the evening was very polite and friendly.

The gentleman on reception gave the distinct impression that he did not really like us.He was from Scotland and given the fact so am I, I would have thought there would have been more of an atempt to at least appear friendly. I was travelling with my father and he asked us as soon as we entered what our relationship was? We were put in a room right at the road so the traffic during the night was disturbing. The hotel did not appear to be full so I would have thought a quieter location could have been found. The meal in the evening did not live up to what we expected and the price we paid!!!!. The Florentine Steak was tender in parts but very chewy in others. I have to say that we were disappointed and compared to the other hotels we stayed in, this was by far the one that we felt let us down.

Villa Scacciapensieri is located with stunning views across Siena. The staff could not do enough for us, taking the time to be interested and listen to what we were saying. The standard of service is like taking a step back in time with the level attention. A wonderful stay that one day we would like to repeat. I would recommend this hotel to anybody that is looking for a quiet peaceful break.

The only improvement that I could possibly suggest is the introduction of tea and coffee making facilities into the guests rooms.

There was no hot water in the first day . Unbelivable for a 4 stars hotel The Bedroom was upstairs and the bathtroom downstairs= very unconfortable

Our four nights stay in Villa Scacciapensieri was most pleasant. Everything was excellent; the elegant hotel and its surrounding garden, the spacious room with a beautiful view of Siena, the gourmet restaurant - but most of all we enjoyed the friendly and helpful personnel

I like the location which is on top of a hill surrounded by the Tuscan countryside. The gardens are beautiful filled with chestnut trees and lemons. Dinner at the Villa's restaurant was also very good.

The room was very small but for a single person, it is ok.

Located on the edge of Sienna in beautiful garden with pool and tennis available, the Villa is a lovely hotel. We were familiar with it as we had stayed there on a previous trip to Sienna....it was wonderful to see that it is still as pleasant an environment as it was 26 years ago. Our room had a territorial view to the Northwest. We enjoyed drinks in the bar and our evening meals in the dining room after a day of sightseeing...good food and wine choices. The staff is very friendly and very helpful - I left a jacket behind and 3 days later they located it ( I could stop off and claim it)!!! Hint - take the city bus that stops at end of drive into city for day of sightseeing. It also could be a base for many car trips to scenic spots in Chianti region.

The restaurant of the hotel was really good and its staff very helpful and kind to us. The hotel is placed in a good location - very close to the city - the parking lot size is appropriate and its gardens are very beatiful.

In my opinion the hotel is overrated. It can easily be a 3 star, but not a 4 star hotel. The facilities were clean but a bit old. We also had asked in advance for a queensized bed - and it was said by email that they could do it - but when we got into the room there were two single beds put together. I felt a bit mislead.

My husband and I went to the Villa as part of our honeymoon so wanted to stay a bit out of town to have the peace and quiet. The setting is lovely, the garden very pretty and the distance back into Siena is small enough that we could pop in without it feeling like a big effort. The waiters were brilliant, I a very sorry that we did not get their names so we could thank them personally, they really did make our stay there more enjoyable. Dinner was fantastic, expensive, but fantastic.

Everything was wonderful. Excellent food and service and the location is close to heaven
