Villa Schuler is the (!) perfect place to start to explore Sicily. A beautiful, historic and authentic villa in a wonderful location, overlooking the sea with an amazing view. Therefore their fresh and delicious breakfast, which is served à la carte on the terrace, is quite spectacular with this breathtaking view of the bay and the volcano Mt. Etna - especially with sunlight in the early morning. It is not only a superb location with an excellent service, very friendly and professional staff - but also with a lovely and very charming sub-tropical, botanic garden at the back, whose herbs they use to offer you a sensational welcome-drink on arrival. Furthermore it is right in the centre, just a few steps away from all the sights, fabulous restaurants, etc. The rooms are clean, with really comfortable beds and pillows. The location in Taormina couldn’t be better! (You definitely do not need a car, since it is pretty easy to get there by bus. So you better save all the expensive parking fees and your nerves from driving through the very, very narrow and steep streets: for a wonderful evening with a show at the theatre or some other cultural program that they suggest you at the reception.) We’ve spent some days in October (21st), and are so much looking forward to come back! Highly recommended!!!
all the ambiace
one of the reception ladies who insisted to give us a very bad room
The Hotel Villa Schuler is the perfect place for a romantic getaway in Sicily. The view is amazing, to say the least, you can have breakfast in an amazing terrace with a breathtaking view. Breakfast is served "a la carte", the best breakfast I've had in southern Europe. Staff was very helpful taking care of the car and any of our needs, spoke several languages, providing restaurant options and doing all this always with a smile. It is situated 2 minutes walking from Corso Umberto. The room was spacious and Wifi access was very good. It was an amazing experience!
The hotel was in a wonderful location overlooking the sea; breakfast was on the patio with a spectacular view of the sea and Mt. Etna. The staff was very helpful in taking care of the luggage and parking the car for us. Breakfast was ordering from their menu and was good and made even better by the view.
All was good
a la carte breakfast, location, friendliness of the staff
Great location, friendly staff, beautiful view from breakfast terrace and rooftop terrace.
Did not replenish soap, breakfast service extremely slow at prime time.
Perfect location, excellent breakfast, helpful staff
Nothing I can think of.
On arrival we were welcomed with a drink and were informed that we had a room upgrade without any additional expense. Our appreciation goes to luana the receptionist she was very helpful and to the young man behind the bar that garaged our car . All the other staff are very nice and accomodating.
Extra towels, but we didn't ask for them
Beautiful old building in the main part of Otigia island and on a great square with lots going on. Incredible breakfast included with most anything you've seen on a breakfast buffet except omelets. Great room well appointed and tastefully decorated. Large prettily tiled bathroom. Great wifi and accommodating staff.
Great garden and location
view was not as good as could have been due to palm tree
Its in a good position close to the town centre and with super views from the terrace of Etna and the bay. The gardens are lovely too, with grapefruit and even a terrapin.
The facilities in the room were adequate but a little basic (one chair, no kettle) but the views from the balcony more than made up for this.
We reserved a Double Room with Garden View 3 days in advance of our stay, at a price discounted from EUR 169 to EUR 139. Following check-in, when we logged in to Booking.com to make further accommodation arrangements, we realized with unhappiness and dismay that 2 varieties of higher category rooms (i.e. Junior Suite with Terrace and Sea View – Top Floor, and Superior Double Room with Sea View) were being offered at much lower rates than ours, i.e. EUR 99 instead of EUR 250, and EUR 119 instead of EUR 169, respectively. Upon our inquiry about the issue, the merchant explained that the case was due to a late cancellation. When we asked for a room upgrade or price discount, he said that we already have gotten what we have paid for, and that a room upgrade would not be possible as we already have checked in. As an excessively travelling couple, we shall note that we had not come across such a pricing policy and had not experienced such dissatisfaction anywhere before. The approach of the merchant to the issue may be considered rational from a business perspective; however, from a customer happiness and satisfaction point of view, he made us feel disappointed and cheated by keeping the higher category and, occasionally, cheaper available rooms to himself, just for the sake of potentially making a few more Euros from a capacity, which must already have been fully charged due to late cancellation. We deem the pricing policy of the merchant towards the engaged customers unfair and unethical, and his mood in defending his argument disrespectful and cunning. Not to mention the degenerate pricing method which disregards room category and price balance ...
What a wonderful place. The comfy room, the terrace with to die for view, dreamy yummy with a view anything you want, included breakfast, great location to all the sights just a few steps away were all great but the service was exceptional.
Pricey but really worth it.
This is a wonderfully comfortable hotel with outstanding views. It also has a lovely sub-tropical garden at the back Its location in Taormina could not be better. It is right in the centre and just below the main street. All the main shops and restaurants are a We were worried about parking but there is valet parking available (essential to pre-book).
It would have been nice to have freshly squeezed orange juice in an island which is famous for its citrus fruit. Slow wi-fi
Everything was terrific in this spot. Clean, well appointed, great patio, great view, lovely dining patio, beautiful garden, easy parking. Highly recommend this spot
I cannot fault the hotel at all. Everything was superb. The staff were so courteous, professional and friendly.Service was excellent and the hotel was spotlessly clean. Our room had superb views of Mount Etna and the coast. The breakfasts were delicious; fresh, home-cooked food in abundance. All round superb. Will definitely stay again.
Location was perfect, being a short walk from the center of Taormina. Having breakfast with a splendid view of the sea and the volcano Etna was the best experience of the trip. Staff was competent and mostly friendly.
Missing a place to socialize when the weather doesn't allow outdoor gatherings.
Location, touch of past, view, breakfast served outside, friendly staff, good beds
Wonderful views from the room overlooking the sea; breakfast was tasty but service slow. Location is great -- there is an entrance/alleyway directly to the main shopping street made. Highly recommend on-site parking.
Expensive - I found Taormina to be much more expensive than other places in Sicily. Difficulty navigating in Taormina to hotel.
Good breakfast. Good location. Friendly staff.
Wiev very nice
Excellent location, and great breakfast. Helpful staff.
They did provide parking which was nice but it cost 15eurs/day, a bit expensive considering you are already paying for the room.
The location is incredible. The grounds are lovely. The view is amazing. Some of the staff were super friendly and helpful. Very clean and well maintained.
Shower and Bathroom uncomfortably tiny - even for people that are not heavy. Yes this was disclosed upon booking, but still unpleasantly cramped. Some staff members were cool and aloof - not typical of Italian hospitality. We prefer breakfast buffet versus ordered and served - the process took longer than it would have if buffet were available. Two beds were pushed together creating a space in the center - not ideal for people who like to be near their partner.
The views as advertised were magnificant. The staff was helpful and attentive. Breakfast, made to order, on the terrace overlooking the Med was just an outstanding touch!
