Elegant and attractive building. Period. quiet. Good parking.

On a very difficult one way road system.

The hotel was exquisitely decorated and the room was really comfortable. The breakfast was excellent, and the hotel personnel were very friendly. They offered us the possibility of making an excursion from the hotel to the Etna Mount and back with a professional guide (50 euros per person), which turned out to be fantastic. My only claim is that I was warned at the reception desk that my rented car could be stolen unless I used the hotel parking at a price of 8 euros per day. I did not used the hotel parking but I was worried about my rented car all the time I stayed at the hotel. Why do you want to go to Catania if you can be robbed? This is not good publicity for tourists going to Catania.

The location

The room type we chossed was not the room we received. From this point of view the classification of rooms on site is wrong or not so clear: what the difference between "ordinary" and "luxury" rooms? In reality it is no difference excepting the price. The hall in the modern style building is quite dark so is difficult to find your room.

The room, the breakfast and the staff were all very helpful. The car park was very useful.

Traditional Rooms. The food was very good and would recommend the restaurant.

The Bar service was not good.

Friendly stuff, excellent breakfast for italian standards, who wants to sleep in peace in otherwise loud city- this is the right adress

rooms are bit small, be aware that the hotel position is quite outside the city center (it really didn't bother us, that's why it's quiet outside)

Very nice clean and the staff was very helpfull. I will recomand this hotel.

The staff were very nice and helpful:) It is a old Villa that is well maintained.

The location was the biggest downside for us.... not in an area for walking so you had to take the bus or drive to the historic center... it is an oasis in an old, poorer part of town. We would not recommend the fixed price/ half board dinner but the regular menu looked very good. The TV had poor reception....

Absolutely amazing hotel, fantastic service, beautiful views, delicious food, wonderful location. My husband and I spent 2 weeks here and we could have spent two more in this gem of a hotel. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly but very professional. The pool was fantastic and so nice to be able to take a dip when it got too hot. The food in the restaurant was beautiful and so lovely to sit out on the terrace and have dinner in the evening. Equally, the hotel is perfectly placed in a very friendly neighbourhood with easy access to shops and a very good pizzeria. We would thoroughly recommend this hotel without hesitation and would love to return one day.

The TV reception was not good, not usually a problem but we wanted to watch the olympics.

This is one hotel I will definately return to, it is clean with beautiful rooms, the stuff are very helpful and location is just outside the city centre with very easy access to transport as the bus stop is right outside the door.

Booked at the last minute and enjoyed everything about my stay. The staff couldn't do enough to make the guests welcome and they are friendly and yet keeping a professional distance. Will definitely stay again.

The only drawback is that one has to get a taxi or public transpot to get to the city centre though there is a free shuttle which runs from hotel to town centre and the beach once a day making a return trip in he evening... Make sure you book ahead as spaces are limited,

Very good hotel, with very good personnel, most of them speak a good level of english and they're always there if you need something. Perfect location if you want to visit the Etna and the city of Catania.

The swimming pool is relatively small and a little bit too quiet (I.E. no music )

Hotel Villa Del Bosco was absolutely fantastic. The reception staff were amazing there was nothing that appeared too much trouble for them, they were informative, friendly, approachable and very professional. All the staff were helpful and friendly and if they were unsure would immediately find a member of staff to assist. The hotel was calm and presented with a serene ambience. Villa del Bosco was extremely well maintained. I stayed in a traditional room along with my mum and daughter and we were very pleased with decor and furniture. The room was cleaned every day along with changing bath towels. The swimming pool was such an added bonus plenty big enough to cool down in and the area surrounding the poolside was immaculate. There were clean poolside towels laid out every morning. The breakfast room was spacious, clean and very accommodating. There was a fantastic range of foods available every day, again the staff were great. I would describe Villa del Bosco as a hidden gem

We had prebooked for one night a double room in the old part of the building and this was comfortable and spacious, the staff were very friendly and helpful. We were too late for a meal but we would have no doubt about booking again such was its style charm and character. They provided a taxi to the airport at Fontanerosa (Catania) at 24 eu which was half that charged in the opposite direction the previous evening by an airport taxi (metered) but we certainly had a good tour of Catania that evening!! The moral being get the hotel to organise your taxi/transfer if possible.

Whilst our stay was only short the impression was excellent. Being overcharged by an airport taxi driver did unfortunately create a conversation piece that evening but that was not Villa Bosco's problem. I am not sure that it was within easy walking distance of the centre of Catania but the building/service certainly was impressive and we were considering that evening extending our stay to look around Catania but our next accommodation had been prebooked.

I was satisfied with the efficient service of the staff and even with the communication about the booking. It was great meeting the staff as a community. The hotel is at a quite place and not far from Catania centre. It is fantastic.

Upon arrival it stood out as a beautiful, typical Sicilian building oozing with old charm. We were able to park the car which is always a bonus. On entering Reception we explained that we were late as we got lost. Immediately the lovely, charming young man on Reception set about finding us maps and helping us to ensure we could find our way back out in the morning. We were shown our room which was stunning in the old style charm and beautifully clean. We went back down to the bar for a nightcap and the service was excellent and again, the surroundings were stunning! I couldn't recommend this hotel highly enough and only wish I had been staying there longer than one night!

My only criticism is that the hotel is hard to find if you are not familiar with the area and we did get lost which was quite distressing for two ladies travelling alone. We had a map and directions, but they didn't really help that much. Possibly more explicit directions would help!!

Wonderful staff and facilities.

Bit tough to get to center; bus is fine but takes a while. Taxis are expensive for the short ride, more direct route than buses can take.

Spacious room ( I stayed in a standard double Euro 94) and design of the hotel. Breakfast at the top floor was pleasant. I was mostly amazed by the seafood I had in the hotel restaurant. Sweet king prawns, very tender octopus tentacles, fish steak... That was a superb 5 star meal. For me seafood at the restaurant 5 star, room 3.5 star (see below for my reason).

1. The cleanliness of the bathroom didn't seem to reach the 4 star standard for me. There was limescale easily spotted at the shower area. 2. One of the lightbulb was not working in the bathroom but I was told that the workers could only come the next morning (which is when I'm checking out). For me this shouldn't be an excuse as things like these should have repaired and checked in advance. 3. Pool was quite small ( I was a bit disappointed cause this was one of the reasons that I chose the hotel) 4. The booking.com website said there's bathrobe and slippers but nope. I asked for the slippers and was told that they didn't arrive due to the 1st May holiday. (I stayed on the 4th May Friday so still not sure why that could be the reason.) Next time I would like to stay in other hotels but definitely visit the restaurant again!

The Hotel Villa del Bosco is without doubt, one of the most beautiful hotels I have ever had the pleasure to stay in. The interior design is quite luxurious...I Felt I had stepped back in time to a more gentile age!! The outdoor swimming pool was a haven in the sunlight. The staff were charming, attentive & very helpful in passing on information about sightseeing, shopping & getting around Catania.Breakfast on the roof terrace was a joy. The hotel was exceedingly well priced for the facilities on offer. I loved it & would highly recommend it as a gorgeous place to stay. I can't wait to get back.

The staff where friendly and the rooms clean and comfy the only complaint I have Is that when we checked out we left a tip in a sealed envelope for the lovely Barman at the front desk but I'm told it went missing. So someone there is very untrustworthy! Such a shame.

The hotel is very nice with it's classic style. The electricity in the room did not work, and the staff reacted very fast and the problem was solved. There is parking inside and our car was safe.

Breakfast is too basic for that kind of hotel. Should think for more cheеse, meat and vegetables!
