The luxury Villa Tolomei Hotel&Resort is surrounded by a 50-acre garden with vineyards, olive groves and an outdoor pool.
Score from 379 reviews Excellent
In an 18th-century building, Grand Villa Medici is just over a quarter mile from Santa Maria Novella Train Station in Florence. The hotel has a charming garden surrounded by a relaxing swimming pool.
Score from 137 reviews Very good
Right on the Arno River bank, Plaza Hotel Lucchesi is a 10-minute walk from Piazza della Signoria. It features air-conditioned rooms, a 24-hour front desk and traditional restaurant.
Score from 253 reviews Very good
The restaurant, the service, the quiet oasis within walking distance of downtown Florence... This may be the nicest hotel I've ever stayed in.
It was lovely in all ways. Complete refreshing of facilities.
Remodeling not quite complete. Exercise room not available.
Outside hustle of city. Bikes and bike paths. Staff.
The service was poor. Too long waiting for food to arrive. Understaffed
Decoration style, top quality Service detail -oriented Great breakfast Wonderful pool Friendly and professional staff
Not enough bicycles
The hotel looks great and has stylish rooms with everything you need. Breakfast was very good, with good variety of foods and sweets. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Location is good enough, and they provide free bikes in case you don't want to walk for 20 mins to city center.
We had some mosquito problems, understandable given the location near the river. Internet connection could be better.
The breakfast was wonderful. A help yourself buffet full of fresh fruit, bread, cheese, eggs, sausages.......everything you could think of.
Difficult to get a taxi back from town.
Beautiful room Amazing breakfast Caring staff Nice pool and lounge area Very good restaurant
Bicycles into town Pool
Staff Restaurant/bar Room (and facilities within) Outdoor pool River location Tranquility
Lack of summary pack with hotel/Florence information
Friendly staff, quite, comfortable, wifi.
Location, no gym.
Style, comfort, cleanliness, breakfast, swimming pool.
3-4 km from the city center but not a big problem
Very nice design, lovely bar and restaurant with great Italian food (though a bit expensive), excellent breakfast (quality and value for money), smiling and helpful staff
bathrooms miss a shower curtain. that's all !
Comfy bed. Good air con. Lovely bathroom and lots of extras. Fine attention to detail. Friendly staff.
Location seemed like an unlikely place for such a nice hotel- walk back at night can be a intimidating with groups of men and the occasional prostitute.
-Friendliness -Breakfast -The Pool & Sun Loungers -The Room
-Made a mistake and delivered laundry to our room when it wasn't ours
Here is what we liked: - The hotel is brand new and everything is very stylish (which we like) - The staff is dressed in a 1930s style which looks very classy yet elegant - The rooms are nice, of decent size and have rock-solid doors so you don't get disturbed by other people slamming the door etc. - Checkout is at 12pm - The breakfast is beyond amazing. Everything you want and if its not there they will make it for you
What we didn't like: - The hotel wasn't completely done yet so there was a lot of people moving things around (however, this will change in the future) - The hotel is located a bit outside the city. While some like it we didn't because our primary reason to come to Florence was to see the city. Cab rides are 15 Euros each way so it quickly adds up. - The outside of the building doesn't really look like a 5*. The inside makes up for it I guess - The pool is nice but people from the street can look through the gate and see you while having breakfast or sun tanning. Not ideal I think.
The pool was fantastic and the room was brilliant as well- amazing bed & shower. Staff were attentive and friendly always.
City tax was not detailed before so that was a slight shock. Breakfast is more expensive than stated online as well. Road nearby the hotel was a bit of a downer on the feel of the hotel.
The staff is super service oriented Beautiful place
Breakfast was far above- Italian customary- quality. Very attentive and personal management style; we were always served before asking.
Breakfast was excellent as was other food at bar/restaurant. All staff very courteous and room was also large with extremely comfortable bed and excellent shower. Cycles to go into centre of Florence.
A/C continually cycled on/off. Hotel min 20 mins walk from Centre of Florence. Need more sun loungers at pool. As hotel is new a lot of minor glitches being resolved.
Located a little out of centre but easily accessed by bus, short taxi ride or 30 minute walk after all that gelati!! Just opened so everything was clean & new. The decor was completed by artistic set designer with staff dress code that complimented. Very spacious comfortable guest room overlooking Arno river with open wardrobe design which we loved. Pool facilities along Arno river were perfect after day out exploring & many people also used the adjoining jacuzzi. Flip flops made available with your pool towel. Fast wifi. Lovely bath products. Fantastic value for money for facilities on offer in Florence. Would highly recommend very relaxing & enjoyable place.
Still finalising some little missing items eg. Full length mirror, shower curtain/screen. Restaurant had lovely setting but we waited long time for food to come & the offering was a little pretentious.
Lovely building and grounds
Lacking overall polish. No room service menu in rooms (or any information). Pool closed for a day with no warning. We were charged 30euros for minibar drinks we didn't consume. Lack of communication generally between staff
This is a really beautiful hotel, attention to detail is amazing. Food is excellent. Breakfast buffet offers everything. We had dinner in the restaurant and it was very good. Chef is from Milano so very high level of quality. Bikes available for the 10min ride into the city. We will be back..
Breakfast was lovely. Staff at breakfast very helpful. (Note breakfast is included at the hotel- what booking.com means by 'not included' is that the hotel will add 12 euros per person per night for breakfast) Very clean Use of bikes was very handy, as without it is a 30 min walk to the Ponte Vecchio Reception staff tried to be very accommodating
Very new hotel, so still a few teething problems, it will be excellent when it is finished. Satellite tv didn't always work due to wi fi connection. No wifi in rooms. Got a kettle in our room on the last day
