The location of the hotel was exceptional, easy to get to and from the water taxiis and to all major sites of interest. The rooms were clean and inviting, albeit, the shower is smaller than what Americans are used to but this is to be expected in Europe. The staff were helpful and considerate. Hats off to the wonderful breakfast that was presented daily to the hotel guests. The coffee machine was great, so unique, and the ham was the best I have ever eaten. Venice has a very unique flavour to it making it a definite favorite city. Venetians were pleasant, helpful and friendly. I would certainly stay at this hotel again. The only downside was that there was no elevator, however, I understand why not in view of the age of Venice, etc. The hotel staff took my luggage up to the room for which I was grateful. Doesn't one always pack too much anyway? Next time will be far less clotheswise. |

I liked the location, the staff, the breakfasts and the room. The hotel lived up to the descriptions of itself on the net. There was no clear instruction on how to locate the hotel. I would have benefitted from a small local map on the net. |

We stayed for 3 nights at the Hotel Violino and couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. The staff was unbelievable as far as friendly, helpful, etc. The location was fantastic, 2 blocks to St. Mark's. Best of all the price was very reasonable for Venice. Our room faced the little Piazza so at night we heard a lot of loud talking. But, that is to be expected if you want a great location and decent view from the room. |

Everything was excellent, and great value for money. The room, with its beautiful canal view, was just what I had asked for, and the bottle of Prosecco on ice was a lovely welcoming touch. |

Staff where very polite & friendly, good choice at breakfast, well placed for site-seeing. Apleasant hotel Due to location to a nearby small square & Gondala stop could be a little noisy, I also consider the hotel a little expensive for standard of rooms/facilities compared to other recent visits to Venice. However I expected this as Venice is an expensive city & was aware that the price is on the whole higher the nearer to San Marco Square which was only two minutes away |

The location was fantastic - could not have been better - a stone's throw from St Mark's Sq. The room was a terrific size for Venice but mind you we had a triple room although only two of us could make it in the end. Everything was spotlessly fresh, crisp and clean Two of the reception area staff (female) that we met were professional, helpful and friendly, one (male) was grumpy, distainful and completely disinterested. The breakfast was a bland, mean, miserable affair with tea/coffee out of a machine, tinned fruit, processed cheese etc - but who ever comes to Venice for good food? |

Great location to St. Mark's Square. Beautiful rooms with good view. Very friendly front desk with nice breakfast. Nicest hotel we stayed at in Europe. Given more than enough towels. Expensive but everything seemed to be in Venice |

Staff especially Luca was very helpful at Reception. The room was lovely and well appointed al though small. They did honor my request to be on the canal though so perhaps that was why it was smaller. lovely bathroom.location in Venice was sensational. Near the San marco Valleroso vaporetta stop and among all the 5 star hotels. Gondolier stop right outside next to Bauer Hotel. 5 star location. Great buffet breakfast. |

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was as requested i.e.- non smoking with canal view. Location is excellent and the room was private and quiet- no noise problems. We don't like continental breakfasts as a rule but this was expected. |

The rooms were very quiet even though the hotel is located in a busy part of Venice Difficult to find the hotel, directions were not adequate given the very complex numbering system in Venice |
