In a 19th-century building, the Quirinale is a 10-minute walk from the Colosseum. This historic hotel is connected to Rome Opera House through a passageway in its leafy courtyard.
Score from 4118 reviews Very good
The Twentyone is a modern boutique hotel on Via Cola di Rienzo, one of Rome's best shopping streets. Castel Sant'Angelo and the historic center are just a pleasant 10-minute walk away.
Score from 1732 reviews Very good
Right next to the Vatican City and a 10-minute walk from Saint Peter's Square, Starhotels Michelangelo Rome has rooms with classic decoration and air conditioning.
Score from 2198 reviews Excellent
One of the highlights of the luxurious Atlante Star Hotel has to be its rooftop restaurant where you can enjoy spectacular views of St. Peter’s Basilica while you eat.
Score from 439 reviews Good
Excellent situation, all visits at walking distance, nice and quiet neighbourhood. Nice breakfast, mindful staff.
Floors up to 4th not rénovated : bad sound insulation from the outside (car noise) and from the corridor ( we were close to the élevator). Modern building without charm. A good 3* rather than a 4*.
Excellent location and very professional staff, high standard.
Shame that WiFi was not free in all rooms
Position near Vatican City and romanian desk office girl.
It was to short our holiday.
Good size room, good breakfast and good location.
Price of mini bar drinks.
Breat breakfast A lot of people who have business trips 15 min from Vatican City
Vecchio. Foto poco veritiere
Room was to hot had to leave window open to get a sensible tempature!! Told reception they said open window, thermometer in room said 26/27 degrees!
Location Bedroom 6th floor Staff Good breakfast
Could not turn off bathroom light at night!
Location, quiet, great bed, good breakfast, safe, friendly staff, food restaurants nearby, good shopping nearby
A small item! Tv for rugby in a big conference room, no atmosphere with a very pricy basic bar.
Comfort, polite staff, breakfast
This is a hotel which takes its job seriously: nothing was too much trouble. Staff are very friendly. Breakfasts are delicious with a huge choice. Lounge is a great place to relax after a day's sightseeing. A very good choice for us.
Very good room, nice king bed, nice and pleasant staff. All this right next to the Vatican and the city center... Good value for the money.
Only 24 hours free internet and the breakfast orange juice...
the staff were great especially the bar staff, there was a guy working the bar when we arrived i cant remember his name but he had dark hair and a goaty beard, he deserves a medal.
the wifi should have been free for our stay and not just for 1 day. we checked out of the hotel at 10am on the day of our departure but our flight wasnt till 5.30pm we were denied acces to any wifi while we sat and eat in the hotel as we had checked out we felt this was poor service.
There nothing not to like only thing i did not like was leaving
we liked the room and the service provided, plus the very friendly staff.
The hotel is spacious, pleasantly furnished and appointed and probably the cleanest we have experienced anywhere. The rooms start off clean and get a thorough going over every morning with maximal replacement of bed linen etc (more than we expected or required, indeed). We got a fine room -- not huge but big enough -- for not much over £80 per night (breakfast included). Breakfast was first-class (except less-than-hot water for tea, which they will doubtless fix). Customized print-outs of news digests for readers in English, French, German, Italian (and I think Spanish) as well as Italian and NAmerican newspapers can be picked up at the entrance to the breakfast area. Apart from bar and room service, there was ready staff advice about nearby restaurants. Staff were invariably pleasant and happy to help. Our instructions for a trip to Ostia Antica were just spot on. For other eating there are various places close by: we found Obladi Oblada in the street running perpendicular to the far front end of the hotel (Via Lucrezio Caro, 56) a real little treasure and modestly priced at that: Luciano the proprietor and his food are well worth a visit (two in our case). The hotel can be reached by using the Metro -- alight at Lepanto and come out onto G. Cesare (Julius Caesar!) Street, face away from the station and go to the right and then turn almost immediately right into Via Lucrezio Caro; walk for most of ten minutes down this street (proceeding straight across a piazza on the way) and then wheel left into Via Ennio Quirino Visconti Street (Chinese restaurant on the corner). The hotel is at the bottom of this short stretch of street. The hotel is very well placed for the the Vatican--one Metro stop or a modest walk away--and from Lepanto it is only a couple of stops to Spagna, the Spanish Steps, the Keats-Shelley Museum at the bottom of the steps, etc. And of course other places such as the Colosseum are eminently reachable by Metro.
The only small 'miss' was properly hot water for English Breakfast tea -- at breakfast. Hot water from a flask doesn't work for proper tea! Visconti needs a hot water dispenser/machine for tea-makers at breakfast-time.
Really cannot knock this hotel at all!! Staff were extremely helpful and polite, location was perfect, situated in a lovely area, neighbouring many bars and restaurants and is within walkable distances of most attractions. Me and my partner walked back from stadio olimpico in under 45 minutes, and enjoyed a delightful stroll to the colliseum in around 30/45 minutes. Vatican City a mere 10 minute walk from Visconti, would definitely recommend this hotel. Tony, London
The hotel is well situated - within walking distance to most attractions/sites. Not in the middle of town thus avoiding the rush and traffic noise, etc.
No coffee making facilities. Free wifi only for 24 hours??
- very tasty breakfast. - Near to Vatican. - Near to many restaurants.
Very close to the main attractions. Nice room, friendly stuff, excellent breakfast. The bus to the airport right around the corner, just 7€ one way.I would always stay there again.
nothing. It was great.
We came back to the Visconti Palace after 4 days in Pompeii and our second visit was even better then the first. The staff are all very pleasant and helpful; the breakfasts are delicious with a great variety of food. Rooms and beds are really comfortable. The hotel has lovely atmosphere and is a great base from which to explore Rome.
Location was perfect, we never needed to take public transportation and walked everywhere. Bus stop to airport is four minutes from hotel. Staff is friendly and helpful. Hotel is very clean. Breakfast is splendid (ask for cappuccini)!
Small detail: Free Wifi works only for one day; from the second day onwards they will give you a special code. As we weren't told, we were Wifi-less for a day, which was no real problem.
Staff are so helpfull and kind
The bed was very bad
The staff were very friendly and helpful and all spoke very good English. Most of the main tourist attractions were 10/15 mins walk away (coliseum 35 Mins) most restaurants were reasonably priced if you looked hard enough. weather was great, so overall very enjoyable.
The food and wine in the hotel was expensive.
The Hotel was very welcoming and All the staff very helpful. The resturant was very good and the lounge bar was extremely friendly. The musicians were excellent and absolutely first class and very welcoming and hospitable. We would certainly return to the Hotel on our next visit to Rome. Location was excellent.
