The hotel is very nice and the staff is very friendly. The views of the city (Como), the lake (Como) and the mountains are spectacular. The drive to the hotel was challenging, steep with lots of switchbacks. The walking around the hotel is alo challenging for anyone with limited mobility, steep with cobblestone pavements. We parked the car while we were there (not many good spots) and took the funicular and public transit everywhere we went. The in-house restaurant is not owned by the hotel, and they do not take credit cards in the restaurant. |

The hotel is on top of a small mountain overlooking the looking the lower basin of Lake Como. Amazing sunsets and equally incredible way to wake up each morning and see the world rolling out before you - so be sure to ask for a balcony overlooking the lake. The village of Brunate is a 7 minute funicular ride up from Como, so it's very easy to visit the city, or go explore the lake. Definitely check out the next door restaurant Bella Vista. The hotel itself was clean and comfortable. Not the most modern of places (our room looked like it had some old water damage on the ceiling); our room was very small, but well designed and comfortable. Good shower. All in all, a great place to wander back to after a leisurely day of exploring. |

I booked the hotel for the lakeview. I asked for it, but they didn!t mention that they won't have a room like this. They couldn't give another room. They should have write me that they won'T have a room for me with lakeview. If I knew it I wolud book a room in Como |

staying up mountain fun. easy to get to funicular rail. good run up and down mountain. staff appalling - rude! instructions to get there confused us and we wasted an hour walking around with heavy baggage! - and then got abused by young guy on staff. forget it. |

We had a lovely view from our room. Took a short walk to the funicular and were down at Lake Como within twenty minutes, enjoying the ride on the way. We left our car at the hotel and didn't have to worry about parking in town. The GPS tracking device took us on a very scary route along narrow roads up the hill. Rather follow the signs. Local drivers are quite reckless on these tiny streets with hairpin bends, that are bordered by high walls |

Our hostess, Christine, was wonderful, inviting, friendly and accommodating. The views of Lake Como were spectacular from Room # 30. Loved the little balcony too. Appreciated the very fast internet connection. A perfect stopover between France and Switzerland. |

We had a wonderful relaxing stay at Vista Lago. The trip up the funicular to Brunate was a lovely transition from Como, and we felt we were staying in a real community in a unique environment. The hospitality was great, the view incredible, and the food wonderful! |

Excellent location, quiet and relaxing with a great view, I paid a very good price for all this and breakfast. Brunate is a little difficult to reach (either take the funiculaire or a 20 min drive from Como)... but really that ends up being a good thing in terms of quiet and views. |

views of lake, mountains were superb especially from a 3rd floor balcony, accomodating staff who supplied parking for us in his private parking space lack of parking, and the small twisty mountain road to get up there is quite hairy to drive up. |

The location was beautiful, the staff were very helpful (and they spoke English), the room was impressively modern and clean Not the fault of the hotel, but people should be aware if they are driving of the difficult narrow switchback road to the hotel. If it is a worry, then perhaps the funicular would be a better option. The restaurant menu did not have enough choice. |
