The hotel is in an excellent central location, within walking distance of all the main attractions. Its also close to a lot of good bars and restaurants. The majority of the staff are helpful and friendly. The rooftop terrace has stunning views and the bar prices are reasonable for the area. I had stayed at the hotel previously with a friend. I chose it for a solo visit because I knew and liked it. Unfortunately the hotel 'single' rooms are very poor. I experienced three, the first was okay, small but recently reburbished however I had to be moved because of the 'noisy nieghbours' the second smelt of drains and the third had a tiny wardrobe and bathroom. I asked to upgrade-was willing to pay- but was told that was not possible. The hotel is great if you are using a double or twin but not as a single guest.

I chose this hotel based on other reviews of it where the view from the rooftop terrace was rated very highly and the rooms basic but irrelevant due to the view. By some great stroke of luck we were upgraded to the best room in the hotel, which has a better terrace even than the one in the restaurant below. It was amazing. We could not have afforded this room but it was the highlight of our trip to Tuscany. The location of the hotel of itself is just fantastic - we were already happy. We also enjoyed an evening wine tasting on the restaurant terrace - two delicious wines (each) and a plate of local cheese and wine for the very reasonable price of €15 per head. Service is definitely a priority at this hotel and they are actively engaged in a project to take the tourism experience to another level - "Beyond Tourism" I think it is called. Whether or not you enjoy the same luck with an upgrade as we did, I think you will enjoy this hotel. Breakfast on the terrace is beautiful. Be careful not to leave your food on the table unattended. The local pigeons are very feisty and you will regret your decision. One person should stay at the table on pigeon guard and the other can occupy themselves with food acquisition duties...... It is worth taking this precaution so that you can enjoy the sunshine and the view in relative peace:-)

Location of this hotel is brilliant, just yards away from the Ponte Vecchio and near to many of Florence's wonderful cultural attractions. It was lovely to immerse ourselves in the art and colour, shops, bars and restaurants, yet be able to retreat to the hotel in minutes for a rest, maybe a shower and to resume sightseeing after recharging the batteries

There can be no better hotel in Florence for location! Literally at the end of the bridge which meant for easy access to everything, but most of all stunning views! Eating breakfast overlooking that view is good for the soul! Extremely helpful staff and a very comfortable stay.

Unbeatable location, kitty corner to the ponte vecchio!! Close to everything. Great restaurants around - like golden bar +++. super value for money. Room small but comfortable and very clean. Tidied daily with fresh towels. Staff was friendly and there was nothing we asked they did'nt know the answer to! Conad (conveniece store) 50 steps away. Breakfast room had a great view. Overall, a very positive experience and we would certainly recommend this hotel to all our friends. Not a great breakfast selection, but not bad at all. Breads, cold meats, cheeses, joghurt, fruits and cereal. A few hot items, like eggs or sausage would have made it even better. Could hear some street noise, but noise did seem to get better later at night when traffic died down. This all certainly is minor negatives in the big picture of this great hotel.

I stayed with my partner for one night at the end of a week in Central Italy. As it was his first visit to Florence I thought the hotel's location which is effectively at one end of the Ponte Vecchio would provide a great start point to a brief introduction to the city. This is one of its great advantages. We often stay at smaller hotels and they are usually more friendly as there are less guests for the staff to know. We found the staff helpful for all the things we needed from them. The room and bathroom were of a good size and the bed comfortable. We were not over impressed by our experiences at breakfast for the one morning we were there. The breakfast room is quite small and though the staff on duty worked incredibly hard to clear tables and provide spaces to eat some guests after us had to wait, if there is one thing I hate it's queing for food. We sat at the next table to two American visitors who were told that there was no more butter as it had all been used, there were other spreads but it seemed poor that with I think at least an hour to go before the end ob breakfast there was no butter. As we had been travelling the previous day we had brought food for a picnic and had some individual containers left so my partner rushed downstairs and got us all four of us some, not what I would expect from a reasonable quality hotel.

Everything was fine. Clean room every day, wonderful location of the hotel, breakfast with a breathtaking view on the 6th floor. Just be aware of the cold breakfast, there are no hot dishes. But for us it was ok. There was a line sometimes to have breakfast but we didnt wait more than 5-7 min.

The location is superb, right beside the old bridge and the facilities are upon standard as a 3-rated hotel. Wifi works well and free of charge. It is a little bit expensive including the city tax.Florence is really small and I think wherever you live, you can travel on foot easily. So the solo advantage for the hotel is not that outstanding.

The Pitti Palace Hotel had a very good location-close to the shopping!! The staff at the front desk were very helpful and polite. As with almost all of the hotels we stayed in we asked for a room with a view. You do get a view if you hang out of the window. I suggest that the management answer emails. I sent 5 emails to them and no one ever answered. It was frustrating because I never knew if they received them.

This hotel is in the middle of shopping. It is at the end of the Ponte Vecchio bridge. We paid half the price for this hotel than we did for the one we stayed at in Rome. I had expected that difference to show but other than fewer choices at breakfast, it was good. It was a great value for the money! I would have liked some hot food choices for breakfast but the breakfast was adequate.

Excelent value for money. Decent room, but there were problems with WiFi (slow connectivity). Breakfast was rather simple, but not too bad considering the price.

The location was fantastic and the price reasonable. The coffee. Maybe the worst I have ever had. They have a Nescafe machine as do many other hotels in Italy however, they should seriously look into getting a new one. As their guests are almost 100% foreign travelers, perhaps they think the quality of the coffee does not matter. News Flash; it does!
