The breakfast was atrocious. It only cost 3eur pp/pd, which covered our tea and coffee on the following day accompanied by our own supplies. Sweet biscuits and dried bread (bruschetta type stuff?) with extra sweet jam is not a favoured way to start the day, and I wish I had known what to expect so I could have prepared by bringing my own fruit! Still, 3 euros just about covered the tea and coffee :) Also, it's probably just a misunderstanding about the term B&B, but breakfast should be included if it stated that it is a B&B you are paying for!
Another thing I was not used to was the fact that we were locked out when we arrived! Nobody answered our knocks/rings of the bell, and we had to use our British phone to call the owner to come and meet us - she stated 5 mins, but was 20mins. Luckily the garden is very pretty with lovely jasmine and beautiful tiled tables; but if you had been travelling all day and just wanted a shower and somehwere to rest your head, this does not live up to the name 'Welcome B&B' !! We clocked this up to the 'Italian way' ;) ….
Also, we could only pay with cash which was due to the card machine/wifi being down.
The place is beautiful and clean with some lovely old features, and I would definitly return to stay in the terraced room with my own breakfast!!
The host was great and attentive and welcoming. She gave us great tips on what to see and do, and, most appreciatedly, honoured our request of a room with a terrace or a balcony. We were able to relax and spend the early parts of the day in the garden in complete peace and tranquility. The front garden is filled with jasmine flowers which are so pretty and smell divine! We were interested to know if the TV worked, and the host (I never learned her name) apologised that it did not but returned the next day with a TV box. The place has a lovely rustic charm with sunflowers being a main feature, and was extremely clean. The beds were comfortable, and the shower worked. We were pointed in the direction of Il Mio Carapaccio, an Italian restaurant down the road where we had a great night filled with waiters with personality, lovely food and limoncello aplenty!! I would definitely return, but only for the terrace room :)
