The pool. The peace. It is familiar and we know the staff. No suprises. It is perfect for old hippies from IL & WI to hang out, play in the pool, easy walk across street to beach and food. Super affordable.
It is showing the wear of 25 yrs. Not a place for 1st comers.
Loved the proximity to beach, staff, swimming pool area and the bonus was the pool table. Neighbours were lovely and regular visitors which is always a good sign.
Only thing I didn't really like was the lack of coffee in my room. Everything else perfect.
The Garden is beautiful
the room was'nt properly ready and i had to ask for things, such as a kettle. Before leaving my home for this vacation i tried to get intouch with the hotel, but had no reply for a couple of days, i even asked booking .com to email them. eventually when i did get hold of them, the promise to email me with what i had asked for did not materialised i had to call again. On this front i felt the office is run quite poorly.
Courteous staff; convenient to shopping and restaurants.
The walls are very thin; can hear most noise from adjoining rooms.
The staff was very helpful and were willing to help with any concerns or questions I had.
The walls are thin, but I have found that to be the norm in most hotels in JA.
the staff members were friendly and very helpful. love the location. very private.
lack of electrical outlets. not enough refrigerators-some rooms had none no iron board
It was a very comfortable stay for the price. It was a very great comfortable stay.
Only thing the hotel is not on the beach. The beach is across the road behind another hotel. Food place next to hotel will rip you off. Walk down the road either direction you will find better places for less.
Did not have music and bar that was advertised. Need all year bartender to satisfy customer needs.
the gardens the women that work there
the blocked up toilet
I will return
I accidentally lock my keys in my car..the owner and his friends were of tremendous help in getting it open. Thank you all!
The room was very basic, but clean. Staff were very friendly and efficient. The air conditioning worked well.
Wooden shutters (with screens) do a poor job of keeping noise out. I was awakened several times by loud music until 3am usually from the vacant property on the other side of the fence.
location, value, comfort
The staff was easy to get along with, cooperative and pleasant. It felt kinda like home. And being jamaican, madethay appreciated. It was all accommodating. And I appreciated all efforts made, from theground staff up... very friendly:-).
The fact that the resturant and bar closes so early. 8pm is way too early to close off for food and drinks. Set up a little schedule with small events, nothing loud. A small band or something. The resources are the for it. Inform the guess of this. And maybe take a dollar or two of the menu prices and the dinning might be a bit more crowded. But thats all just my suggestions. Overall it was all good.
"Starboy" (Security) was great, really helpful and friendly. It was clean, quiet, safe and excellent value for money. The beach was a 2 minute walk across the road. We really loved it and would definitely stay again.
That we had to leave!
It was right across the street from the beach. Inexpensive.
Pool is dirty and gross. The hotel room did not feel as secure with the windows being pretty open to the outside. Mosquitos were able to get into the room because of the windows.
Great location, very comfortable beds and spacious rooms, very clean. Honestly the best you can get for that cheap.
The pool bar wasn't open all the time, and one security guy hit on me late at night and made me seriously freak out. He said he wanted to do stuff with me and came all the way to my friends room to check if they were awake or not.
Loved the location, room was very clean and beds were comfy
Nice and quiet. . Hotel Team was friendly.
Our room was not ready when we got to hotel...
I like the friendliness of the staff. The Wii Fii connection was excellent! The grounds keeper keeps the grounds lovely!
I would have to say my only complaint would be the lighting in the room..if they could improve on the bare bulb lighting it would be a definate asset!
Close to the beach and not expensive.
Front desk clerk made a mistake and gave us the wrong room then made us hurry and change because of her mistake! She was not at all nice about it. I ended up accidentally leaving something in the drawer because of having to hurry and move. I was able to retrieve it, but also lost my socks in the process. It was her mistake and left a very bad impression. I will probably never book there again. There are too many other accomodations in that area.
We loved the fact that there is a swimming pool and that the staff was very accommodating to our needs. The plantings are beautiful and the staff were friendly and seemed hard-working. For our money, Coral Seas Resort seemed a great value, and we will be back ! Thank you, Coral Seas, for a relaxing time !
Negril is the only city in Jamaica we've visited- we've been there 5 times. What we never understood is that if the people there are interested in protecting their tourism dollars, why doesn't the city band together and do something to eradicate the trash along the road & walkways? That lovely sidewalk that's been installed across from the 7 Mile Beach is a great example of what a little work & money will do to make an area a safer & more beautiful place for tourists to walk & enjoy. Coral Seas Resort does make a great effort to keep their own little oasis beautiful; personally I was a bit ashamed of the way some of the visitors treated the property, in terms of leaving their trash strewn about and throwing paper & bottles on the ground. The employees have a lot to keep up with, without having to pick up after irresponsible guests. This visit we heard a lot of comments in Jamaica about the people there having a tough time economically- and I'm sure that's true. I enjoy visiting Jamaica and would love to see that island thrive. We believe it can- with more investment from the locals in terms of tidying up & beautifying the community. It does not need to require a lot of money.
Close to the beach but not as hectic as actually living on it.
the walls are literally built out of stencil paper and you can hear everything from the guests in the rooms next to you as if they were lying next to you in the bed. And the same with the bathrooms. We heard all kinds of horror from neighboring bathrooms. we slept maybe 4-6h in total during our 4 nights there due to a woman smoking weed every evening and then coughing herself half to death all night next to us. One night we woke up at 04:00 by the bubbling sound of a bong. Since all the rooms seems to share ventilation we also had a constant smell of weed and cigarettes in our room. This stay almost ruined our hole trip. Ohh yeah and there is no fridge, which in it self is cause enough not to stay there
I didn't like that they refused to refund me for checking out early. Neither would they agree to credit me one night stay for future travel. Don't pay by cash if you have to stay here!! I didn't like that the staff made fun of a regular visitor because she complaint about noise upstairs her room. They disregarded her desire for a peaceful vacation which she paid for. I didn't like that a housekeeper checked me in and out but did not have the authority to resolve my early checkout refund. I didn't like that she refused to contact a manager or supervisor to resolve my checkout refund.
Located in the middle of the beach road strip. Can walk to the "times square" shopping plaza, or to the knutsford express yard (the inter-city express bus service), in 3 minutes. Lots of nice places to go listen to reggae vibes, be on the beach in 3 minutes walk too. Two double beds in the room, decent size washroom. Cable TV & Wifi. But, I like Negril too.
Nothing really. Its a nice place, and at this period in time, it was priced right.
