location , room, staff, restaurant
Great location. Excellent rum punch.
Checking in took over one hour as they couldnt retrieve the booking from booking.com even though I showed the confirmation email, very frustrating. Bar next door played music until 2am in the morning, difficult to sleep. Beach furniture needs replacing. Breakfast options poor so we went next door which was better value for your money. The shower didnt work properly either too hot or too cold. The toliet was leaking over the two night stay, this was reported but no maintenance staff on site. This hotel needs refurbishing.
Location and the staff were very polite and tried their best to accommodate.
I booked a studio with a kitchen, they upgraded me to a superior room which only had a fridge but it was bigger and they charged me $20 a night more. They include a breakfast which consists of toast, SMALL coffee and fruit loops!!! Not my idea of a suitable breakfast. The dinner we had at the resort was $13.00 for 6 pieces if flat ravioli and a bit if tomatoe sauce. We went next door the next day and had a meal for $10.00 which we would rate as gourmet. They took a photocopy if our passport when we checked in but would not return it. I don't feel comfortable having my passport information out there.
Staff friendly, place was kept clean, on the beach front, could hear the waves crashing from my room, love the Superior room that i got, bathroom was clean and we got fresh towels every day.
The WiFi never picked up in my room, restaurant a bit pricey(not a fan of Italian food)
On the beach nottin gud to say about this place
Nottin the room was smellin or sewer gass commin true the sink ac not workin they said ac guy commin to fix never show up its the worst experience i ever had the management was rude never will go back there and my guess was told she was not allowed in the property after 10 pm she had to leave
it is near beach
smell in room
Very good for budget travelers. Value for money.
Owner, maid staff and grounds crew. HOT water for showers with great pressure. Toilets flushed good everytime (Negril first) Super clean and very functional hotel. good mid beach location. Walking distance to many stores, restaurants and nightlife. Fair price. not to stuffy and not run down.. Vibe is "just right mon"
This is in no way a reflection on Mariposa but Negril has a HUGE problem with hustlers. I have been 12 times so I know what to expect. It was slow season and I felt so bad watching people try to go for a nice beach walk only to be hassled every 100 feet. I make the best of it but I think something needs to be done. The few are messing it up for the many great beach vendors. Just say no, no, no, NO, NO, NO, NO that usally does it.
Vistor from 10a to 6p or 530p depend on how management feel that day. She can also request a police report on top of their Id. Right on the beach. Tony"s bar mext door, to socialize, bourbon beach jerk chicken close by. Nice area.
10pm have to make arrangements to get back in because gates locked.
staff helpful, rooms clean, good location
the fact that there was no security during the day after dream weekend.at night the security only come in at ten pm.there is only one manning back the front and the back. The ceiling fan is slow, the ac needs to go its unbearably noisy.lots of mosquito
The access to the beach and the location o the strip as well as the staff was great.
The kitchen facilities like the stove needed to be redone. The shower curtains were atrocious. The blanket cover on the bed had holes.
The staffing very nice
The wifi was horrible food taste ok but very limited menu and the complimentary breakfast was really nothing
Affordable prices. ....staff is awesome. ......right on the beach.
The gates to the property locks at 10pm. The wifi works a little slow Sometimes not at all.
The beach front view & easy beach access.
The complimentary breakfast options were limted.
Loved the room and staff
Food was terrible and over priced....we enjoyed the property but after eating breakfast decided we would be better off cooking for ourselves. Bonus is that the rooms were fully equipped with kitchenette which allowed us to do this. There are lots of great nearby restaurants to enjoy.
Staff was very friendly and helpful.
1. The presence of a public restaurant on property takes away from the privacy of the property. 2. Size of room extremely small
The staff was very friendly also the beach and gardens were very well maintained We were the only guests the 8 days stay Nighttime security was very pleasant
The rooms with "kitchenette" were only an old mini fridge and a hot plate .. Hot plate didn't work Evidence of rodents in cabinets Air conditioner ( portable) in master bedroom was very loud. Didn't cool properly and even after I cleaned the nasty filter still was not working properly. Housekeeping offered me a second fan... No thanks No daytime security for the beach which meant constantly being harassed and hustled on a daily basis. This caused me to ask the security at neighboring hotel if I could use their facilities.. Very accommodating
They need to inspect they room b4 renting it alot of bugs and dead insects in side the room them
I love the access to the beach, and i enjoyed the food at the resturant. I loved everything about the 7 mile beach.
great location; courteous staff; spacious rooms.
roaches and lizard in rooms; bed was not comfortable; staff was not easy to locate.
the nice quit setting , central location on the beach , fact that the room has a kitchenett
mattress has a big sag,no do not disturb sign to hang on door , WiFi is not strong enough we could not get hooked on tried all spots ! need a credit card machine at the restaurant
We love the location of the Mariposa Hideaway, the staff, and the hominess of the room. One is surrounded by music. We will definitely come back.
The essentials of the property are maintained but much needs refurbishment or capital investment to replace worn out things that have served their usefulness. For example, beach chairs have torn and dirty material, you need ear plugs to stand the noise of ancient air conditioners. Maybe that is why it is for sale.
It was reasonable in base price.
No real beach. No bar or restaurant. No one was ever at the front desk to help with things. They didn't let us bring a friend over to visit at the room one night because they were not a registered guest - this was a real problem. Their wireless internet access never worked, another real problem these days.
it was hard to gain beach access early in the morning. I had to ask several times for a bar of soap for my room. the "free breakfast" was a joke. (no coffee refills and only a piece of toast). The room smelled of sewer gas and the toilet ran all the time.
