Retreat Guest House  

An oasis in the country. Staff very professional and friendly, service excellant. A wonderful place to cool out and relax. Room bright and airy a great view of Falmouth port from our room balcony.

Location - further off the main road than expected.

Make no mistake, the Retreat Guest House is a mansion in the hills overlooking Falmouth and the Caribbean Sea. A rare and beautiful location at a price that is very very reasonable. A room with a view of the port made our stay all the more special. My only other experience of this caliber was a stay in a French chateau outside of Bordeaux. The Retreat enjoys a beautiful quiet isolation, yet we were able to drive the entire coast with little effort. You will not find many places like this to enjoy the real Jamaica. The owner is a lovely lady and her assistant is very charming. They would be welcome in our home here in Florida anytime.

The map provided on Booking.com incorrectly identified the location of this hotel. That is a real disservice to the owner and their guests.

Nice place, nice and quiet away from the world, good place to rest up. Room was prepared very nicely, very excited when we arrived.

They charge far too much for simple items. Example is they charged $30 us for two tuna sandwiches. That is more expensive than the states. The rates are ridiculous, and they seem a little money hungry. Also, water was running with very low pressure, almost a trickle, the whole time we were there, meaning we could not use the spa and shower they had set aside for us. When we asked them they only seemed to pretend to help the situation, without actually fixing it.

Es una casa de familia que queda en el medio de la montaña/selva, a 20 cuadras de la playa. No hay taxis disponibles en la zona (no es turistico), queda en una calle de tierra. Imposible ir caminando a la playa por la lejania y por la peligrosidad. La dueña de la casa se hace la amable y hace de taxi, pero te cobra cinco veces mas que lo que sale un verdadero taxi. No hay room service. El desayuno te lo cobra 30 dolares. Se acuesta a las 20 hs y luego no se puede hacer ruido ya que no es un hotel, sino una casa de familia. Queda lejos de la ciudad de falmouth. No se lo recomiendo a nadie. Nos pasamos las 24 hs encerrados en la habitacion (porque la playa a la que nos llevo era publica y nos genero mucha inseguridad). It is a family house, in the middle of the mountain/jungle, 20 blocks away from the beach. There´s no many taxis in the area, so she offers to take you to the beach, but charges you much more than a taxi does.There´s no room service, and everything you buy (drinks, sandwiches) are really expensive. Dinner ends at 7 pm, because she goes to sleep; so after that hour you can´t do anything. We don´t recommend this guest house to anyone, we stayed all the time locked up in our room. The owner of the house (joyce) has ver bad attitud to everything, she does whatever she wants. When we asked her to call us a taxi to go to Ocho Rios, she told us that it costed 100 dollars, but she only payed him 60..telling him that that was all the money we were going to pay..very bad experience

Der Weg zum Retreat Guest House ist sehr schwer zu finden. Die Ortsangabe auf der Googlemap entspricht nicht dem Standort. Es gibt nur ein einsames Hinweisschild an der Strasse hinter Falmouth an der Hauptstrasse von Montego Bay kommend.
