In the protected area of Wadi Rum, this authentic Bedouin camp is surrounded by orange-colored rock mountains. Salman Zwaidh offers private and shared tents, and free breakfast is served daily.

Score from 66 reviews Very good
The night in the middle of the desert was absolutely lovely. I loved getting to watch the sunset and sunrise from a small cliff next to the camp - a truly unmatched experience.
The camp is located beautifully. Lovely facilities to watch the sunset (small bench on top of the rocks, matrasses). Good food, live music afterwards. Comfortable tents and showers and toilets available.
We had to catch the bus to Petra the next day and the staff was supposed to bring us to Rum village. They told us we had to take breakfast around 7am to be on time. We did not leave until 9.. We missed our bus but one of the staff members called the bus driver and brought us there. This was really friendly.
Everything was good, localization, incredible view, friendly staff. You can rich the camp during the day when they will be go there with food e.g. But you have to live early after breakfast (taste good)
You cannot live Your luggage when You arrive You can put to the tent and later about 6 pm it is strange the are waiting for all tourists and splitting tents we do not why... sinks in bathroom were dirty little bit
Wadi rum is a beautiful place to visit but do not expect much from the accommodation provided. Tour itself is wonderful but tour guide was not very knowledgable and talkative.
Be sure you arrive before 7pm unless you want to fight for extra charge to get to the camp.
Truly enjoyed ourselves at the Bedouin House Camp. Would highly suggest the jeep tour-- covered a lot of ground and plenty of time to stop, hike around, and make camp by sunset. Camp was a great location, clean, food was very nice, and just a very comfortable atmosphere. Would easily go back there.
Great experience spending two nights with the Bedouin. We felt warmly welcomed and embraced, and saw some amazing sites through the Wadi Rum on an all day keep tour. Facilities are simple - but this is what makes it such a great experience!
- Loved the desert atmosphere and is worth staying at least for a night in such camps. - We liked the main tent where food is served. - They had toilets and bathrooms, not perfect but still good to know that one doesn't have to do in open sky in the middle of the desert :P lol - Would definitely recommend to stay and not miss the desert camp experience. - The Owner Agaab and other staff went out of their way to find my aunt's missing phone but unfortunately we all couldn't find it in the end. - The camp is located in the protected area so its quite safe. - The beds and blankets provided in the tent were quite comfortable.
Now... to start with there was break and miscommunication between us and the camp owner which created few misunderstandings and result of that had a few things which we didn't like. - We booked the CAVE which was around 80 jd, now the problem was it was so damn cold and the cave is quite far from their main camp tent and bathrooms (I did not know this) so it was sort of impossible to stay there so we requested the tent which is around 20 odd jds but we were charged the cave rates 80 jd. I was very very upset and unhappy about it. If i was the host i would have understood my guest's problems and charged the rates of the tent in which they stayed in. Anyways never mind but Agaab the owner's son did give us discounts in other things but still doesn't make up for it. - As we could not confirm our arrival/check-in time and as we arrived late we got really really cold and bad food. was a big disappointment! - In the main tent area i thought there would be some sort of entertainment like traditional folk play music and be lively but it was so dead, everyone seeing each other's sad faces. I was told there were not many guests so they did not organise anything. - There were bathrooms/toilets, not perfect but ok! the men side toilets were dirty and stinky but the female side was clean. i did complain then and there and i guess in the morning it was taken care of it! - Whole night the dogs were barking and running around and at a point i thought they going to tear the tent and attack us.. lol may be they must have seen a ghost :P haha never know! - While checking-in at night we were helped by the staff to put our bags in our tent but while checking-out the next day the staff just looked over but din't help us carry our bags out! i had to carry 6-7 bags my self up to the car. - I agree with other reviewer's that be ready to spend out money for other small things.
Wonderful experience; unbelievable surroundings; talking with Zidan was a pleasure;
We reserve the cave, wich is not really like in the photo (you sleep near the rock not inside), but is much warmer than the tent. When we arrive we had a shock, but finally it was OK.
Actually it was satisfying for seeing desert atmosphere. The boss was very helpful
but when we at desert the staff wanted money for any other small things; for example he wanted 20 jd each more than 5 people to show us the stars. It was so ridiculous and disturbed.
Staff was very helpful and friendly. Outdoor experience
The tent camp offers an ideal locaation for exploring wadi rum. The staff are incredibly hospitable, and the food is excellent! We took a jeep tour and it was well organised and the whole thing was great vaaalue for money. The group tent was cosy, and there were plenty of blankets to keep the cold away!
Landscape, views, friendliness of manager family, Jeep and camel tours
Flies, cold food
Fantastic location, great guys, excellent food (cooked in a hole in the ground). The accommodation was very comfortable and clean for tents. I highly recommend going here. It was one of the best places I've been to ever. I don't know how the rating works but under the circumstances I would rate this place as 10
The jeep tour with Mohamed was amazing!! He was quiet at first, but we asked a lot of questions and he opened up and shared a lot of interesting information about Bedouin life and history. This was our favorite part. He was kind to us and great with our kids. The stars and planets at night were all encompassing. I wish I had a travel telescope. :) The camp was fine. There are giant rock formations immediately behind it, so climbing for our two children was great. The shared bathroom facility was as clean as could be expected for desert camp. The ride from the Visitors Center to the camp site was really fun! We were in a truck turned "jeep" with the wind blowing through our hair as camels walked by and cliffs surrounded us. At dinner, the owner offered a Q&A, in English. This was great but is very dependent on what questions are asked and the crowd's comfort in speaking English.
The camp is under construction as they're expanding. So, there is disarray. The pick up from the Visitor Center (the one inside Wadi Rum) was ok, confusing but the random people we asked were all helpful. I suggest organizing it ahead of time to prevent any stress. That said, everyone at the Visitor Center was helpful so it didn't matter in the end. The food was ok. The camp orientation was lame. We were taken to our camp "room" and told here you sleep, there you eat (pointed to dining tent. We could see the bathroom, but a little more information would have been useful or, at least, welcoming. No music at dinner.
We enjoyd very much a company of the host who is a real bedouin with great dignity! Good dinner, perfect location in Wadi Rum for sunset and sunrise and very nice music was provided by staff after dinner.
There sould be more information on the site that in addition to accomodation you have to buy a dinner and what kind of activities the camp provide. For us it was OK as we already knew it from other sources and were ready to pay for it.
The tour and the camp are excellent. the staff are so friendly. strongly recommended. more than your expectation.
i like everything.
Stars, stars and even more.... stars
Great location for sunset and sunrise. Staff were very friendly. Dinner was amazing and staff played music and guested danced along. All in all great experience.
Nothing. Don't expect too much comfort from camping in desert.
- Helpful, friendly staff - Fantastic value for money - Great Bedouin speciality food - Fantastic open-air cave that is hugely romantic
Very nice location in the desert. Staff is always smiling and offering nice tours and music in the evening around the fire. They will pick you up in the village. Dinner was good.
Beds could use some more sheets.
Friendly staff, Tasty Bedouin 'zarb' meal. Great views across the desert particularly at sunset and sunrise. I thoroughly recommend spending a night under the stars at Wadi Rum
Everyone was really friendly, shared toilet facilities much cleaner than i expected for the middle of the desert! (take a torch with you though). Food really tasty and atmosphere amazing. Stayed in the desert cave, would definitely recommend that - sleeping under the stars.
