Petra is a great place to visit as it is one of the wonders of the ancient world. The moment we come out of siq( canyon type rock cut way) and see the Treasury , it has a magical experience. The Petra visit combined with Wadi Rum are excellent combination in souther Jordan- certainly worth visiting.

Stayed two nights but three would have been better.
Stayed two nights but three would have been better. We missed the evening hike due to other arrangements. Overall, great experience. We hired a driver to drop us off for the backdoor hike into Petra. Start early and it is really worth it.

Petra is breathtaking.
Petra is breathtaking. I cannot describe it more accurately. Little Petra is also a hidden Jewel.
The Petra museum is worthwhile to visit.
Petra by night did not meet my expectations (and perhaps of may others).

2023 update if you wanna travel on your own from Amman (not with an agency), best thing is to stay 1 night in Petra and 1 night in Wadi Rum, travel with JETT buses:
- take the 7 am JETT bus from Amman to Wadi Rum, arrive by 10.30 am
- walk around Petra the whole day. Bonus points for staying until sunset.
- take the JETT bus the next day at 11.30 am to Wadi Rum. Spend the day and watch the sunset, stargaze
- chill and do activities around the camp. Take the JETT bus to Amman at 5.00 pm
---
If you can, spend 2 nights in Petra. You can take it easier and you can do more hikes and see gorgeous views

Obviously went to Wadi Musa to visit Petra; for me, 1 full day in Petra was enough, but I was there for 14 hours, which can be a lot for most. If you want to take your time a bit more, or aren't too much in shape (there's a lot of hiking up and down), I would suggest 2 full days instead. I don't think there's much else to do in Wadi Musa than Petra really.
We just got back from out stay at the Seven Wonders hotel as part of a trip to Jordan. We went not expecting much from the reviews here but got an amazing deal from booking.com so thought we would try it as the hotels in Bath can be a bit pricey. They must have renovated the rooms since the other reviewers stayed because our room looked great! Just the same as any chain hotel - very clean, large bed and shower, wardrobe and TV. The breakfast was massive! Huge and geat value for money.
Seven Wonders Hotel was great and I would stay again!
The guest house was very clean and well maintained.
This was my family's second visit to Petra and we stayed at an expensive hotel last time out. However, the Leen Guest house was FAR better than any hotel we have been to and is also a much better value for money. Also, the location is excellent and you can see the entire Wadi Musa from the terrace.
The hosts are also very friendly and accommodating!
We really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Petra.
I adore theme hotels and Valentine Inn Luxury did not disappoint! I prefer the feeling of a family pensione to a stuffy corporate hotel. The rooms were cute and clean, the beds comfortable. The shower was hot and the towels were soft. The dinner was one of the best we had on our trip! They were so kind as to drive us down to the visitor center and pick us up. We had a gorgeous view of the city, and the wifi was great. Whole heartedly recommended for your family!
A perfect choice to have a perfect stay at Wadi Musa. Very well designed place with nice view (from our room) and also close to Petra. Also, very friendly and professional staff. In particular, I would like to thank Mr Abdulkarim for his great service. Not only he did a great job to serve us in the accommodation, his information about Petra, how to get there, which way to go, and how to get the most of it was awesome. He is a champion!
Lovely small and quiet hotel just a 10-15 min walk from the entrance to Petra. Lots of shops and restaurants within a 2 minute walk of the hotel and the rooms were well equipped and comfortable. This was one of the cheaper hotels we booked during our stay in Jordan and the staff were so kind and helpful and there were lots of extras in the room we didn’t expect which made it even better especially after a long drive.
Very friendly staff members. We enjoyed our stay at Petra Sky Hotel. We woke up very early one morning to walk down to Petra Visitor Center (20 minutes walk) and the hotel left a morning food pack for us in reception as we would not be able to go to breakfast. They also allowed us to check out little later as our flight was only in the evening and we left Wadi Musa only in the afternoon.
The owner of this hotel is the sweetest man. He helped me out so much when I was ill. He also loves to give you all the advice for your trip to Petra. He told me a lot about his culture And I really enjoyed talking to him. The hotel has a beautiful view over wadi musa and the dunner is so good!! I really enjoyed my stay and hope to come back in the future.
It is a 6 min walk to the Petra front gate, and incredibly near all the food/attractions. The hotel is in a quieter part of Wadi Musa, and there is plenty of free parking out front. The hotel staff were very accommodating, and the manager gave us a fantastic 2 day plan to see all the important sites in Petra. The stay was worth it for that alone!
The location is great. If you come to Wadi Musa to explore Petra, this place is only 5-10 minutes by foot from the main entrance, so perfect to be there early in the morning before the crowd arrive. Good value for money as most hotels in this area of the town are expensive.
The breakfast is very simple and it was brought to thw room on time.
The staff here are absolutely amazing, one of the best hotels I have stayed in for service. First night we arrived very late and they brought a beautiful spread of dinner to our room. They accommodated requested quickly. The free shuttle service to Petra is excellent. We had breakfast and dinner included, both were nice.
The location was perfect. The rooftop restaurant was perfect and had an incredible view of the city. The food was delicious. The service in the restaurant was wonderful. All attendants were very helpful. If another night had been available, we would have stayed another night. We LOVED our stay at Petra Moon Hotel.
The hotel is at the top of a hill, so unlike most hotels near Petra, the views from our room and the balcony are beautiful, seeing the sunset is an essential part of the visit! It was also helpful to be able to eat breakfast before 6am so we could arrive to Petra for the opening time, beating the crowds and the heat.
The Hostel is located on the two top floors of a building near the Mövenpick Hotel. The cabinsvare spacious, Clean and I got an Upgrade in a cabin with Windows. So nice the View in the City at night. Really friendly people running the Hostel. Highly recommend. Could have stayed some more days in Petra
It was very clean, professional great staff, amazing shower, air conditioned, good food and in a good location. The staff provided wonderful service and are very friendly. easily one of the best hotels i have stayed in from all over the world. The breakfast pancakes were delicious too.
Nomads Hotel Petra is so nice. I stayed at a few hostels and I was pretty impressed with this one. It is aesthetically beautiful. They have a nice outdoor patio / social area. The reception area is also really nice. I stayed in a 4-bed female dorm. The beds were comfortable.
Everything was exceptional. The food was the best we ate compared to other hotels we stayed at in Jordan. The fish is amazing! Amir at the front desk was so kind and friendly. He made sure we were accommodated. Thank you Amir!
This is probably the best value room in Wadi Musa. You get the same level of room that you'd get in the 4 star hotels at around half the price. The organiser is also very helpful and the small breakfast is a bonus.
Staff were very friendly and welcoming. They helped booked our onward travel from Petra to Wadi Rum and arranged for us to be picked up from the hotel. Location is close to Petra entrance so ideal location.
Staff are very friendly. Room is nice. Hotel room is new and modern. Beautiful view of Wadi Musa. Close to some good restaurants. Staff will park car for you.
