Petra House is at the gate of Petra. No other hotel is closer. When you have spent a long, hot, dusty day inside Petra, the first thing you see is the beautiful Petra House. The outdoor patios, restaurant and especially Cave Bar are amazing! The value is definitely there at the Petra House - In Petra I would not stay anywhere else. The grounds, restaurants etc are a 4 star, the rooms are only a 3 star. They could use some sprucing up. Paint was peeling and a little dated. However, the room was clean, comfortable and plenty of room for the 3 of us. A coat of paint and new furnishings and it is back up to a 4 star!

The location to the Rose City was ideal right next door to the entrance. Comfortable but not for the disabled! I did not enjoy the food at the hotel including the breakfast it would have been better with less choice and more attention to quality.

It is literally right next door to the visitor's centre and a fabulous location. It's a very sweet hotel with lovely helpful hotel staff and superb value compared to the rest of the hotels in Petra. Breakfast was extensive and really good value. The beds in a double room were small for two people (and we are not big people) the decor in the rooms does need updating but the hotel was clean.

The position is the only good aspect I found ants in the bathroom, I immediately asked for another room but they had just the next room with separate beds, they did'nt refund me for the inconvenience and they have been really unpolite, if you have such of ants invasion at least they should have upgraded me not downgrade!! Stay away from this hotel

Superb staff, always helpful and were respectful. In particular Adel. The breakfast food was ok, pretty standard in any hotel which was a shame, but the omlettes were fantastic. The evening bar-b-cue at our table was excellent. I thought the music was too loud and not really appropiate to have club dance music blaring out when the guests were of a older generation. I asked the staff to turn it down, which they did. Could do with better internet connection, instead of only near reception and it's quite expensive. It should also be free, given the quality of hotel. I will definately stay again, and have already recommended your hotel. Superb experience - thank you!

Very good location, close to the Petra entrance. Good service, staff was very helpful. Not as clean as other hotels. It is still very clean, but just not spotless. This is to be expected for a hotel in a relatively remote town. The only complaint is that it is difficult to access by car or taxi. I had to drag my heavy suitcase for a long distance from the bus station to the hotel.

I can recommend this hotel. About everything was just excellent and enjoyable. "Wi-fi is available in the entire hotel and costs jod 4.50 per hour." However, I had difficulty in connecting. The service offered to get me connected was inadequate. In the end I left without checking-in on my return flight. Everything else were just fine.

Good location (next to the site), good views, good lunch-box for day walk. Staff is kind and helpful. Restaurant is reasonable (though not outstanding). Noise in the night! That spoils everything. We were on the restaurant side, their ventilator is very noisy all the night (if you open the window). Their air conditioning is also extremely noisy (if you close the window).

We found it an excellent hotel, which far surpassed our expectations, as well as its write-up in Lonely Planet. I really cannot believe that there is no mention, for example, of the 2000 year old Nabatean cave, which is now the Guest houses bar. Wonderful place that w would recommend to anyone...

The location was perfect, we were a few yards from the gate to Petra. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent and cost no more to have it delivered as room service.

The location. Just in front off Petra entrance. The comfort and the staff. Very friendly. The cave bar. Beautiful. No wifi free. The information say that the hotel has Pool and Spa but it is not true. You can use the services of The Crown Hotel but it was closed. I think you pay more for facilities that you don´t have.

I booked this online based mainly on other people's reviews - my 'wild card' of the trip, but I was right to trust everyone as this place has the best location, right at the entrance to the gate, with superb restaurants, food and rooms. Staff were mostly friendly, but some were a little distracted! Rooms are spacious and offer views out over the entrance to Petra, so you don't need to walk far once out of bed! The cave bar is really atmospheric with great food and drinks in a funky friendly atmosphere, breakfast is a good selection for all tastes in a clean, bright restaurant. The name guest house is a misnomer really as this is definitely a 4-5* hotel. The sister Crowne Hotel is currently closed for renovation for a couple of years, so there is no pool access as listed in the info. A/c was not very effective, it just circulates warm air.

Welcome drink on arrival, friendly staff, beautiful surroundings, gorgeous room (although air con a little difficult to figure out (take the picture off the wall and open the box lid downwards!!) Cave bar was just awesome and the food was outstanding as well as being reasonably priced. Sulaiman was a great asset upon our arrival. We loved our 2 nights there and you really cannot stay closer to the entrance to Petra! Wonderful - would certainly recommend to anybody; single, young couple, mature couple, family...whoever! Thanks for great stay. Bit puzzling trying to get to it! Wasn't very clear. You have to drive through the mini-souk leading up to the entrance to Petra!! Not far but slow cos people seem oblivious to traffic. Worth it when you get there though. Just say "Guest House" when you get tot he barrier to souk and they will let you through. Quite an exciting way to arrive to be honest so not really a negative just bit of advice!!
