The avocado salad barely had any avocado in it. Opened mineral water bottles in the room SHOULD NOT BE refilled by housekeeping.

Location is perfect- room service is great and punctual, they say 39 minutes and food is delivered within this time. Excellent Staff at Reception and spa and other outlets. Three major Restaurants, Lebanese, Mexican and Indian the best in town. We loved it

My room,775, as wellas the adjacent 773 were non-smoking rooms. But my neighbor from 773 was a heavy (nargila?) smoker, and HIS smoke infiltrated unbearably to my room.
IC Amman is my favorite hotel in Amman for 20 years. It combines Middle Eastern atmosphere and hospialty with Western luxiary. The lunch I had at the Burj el Hammam restaurant was excellent. So was the shuttle service to the airport.

The hotel was expensive and we expected to receive service in line with what we paid. However, when we checked-in for our stay late in the evening after a long flight, we were told that they could not give us the room we had requested (a king bed, non-smoking). Instead, my husband and I were told we had to choose between a smoking king room or a non-smoking room with double beds for our three night stay. It took going down to reception three times in the early hours of the morning to ask about being given a non-smoking room until we pointed out to them that we knew they had a room available because they had originally asked us when we checked in if we wanted to pay significantly more to upgrade into a bigger king/non-smoking room for them to offer us an upgraded room that fit the requirements of the room we had originally booked. While the upgraded room was nice, it shouldn't take a five star hotel three discussions to come to the conclusion that they need to upgrade your room and accommodate the request you made in the originally booking. It was not the kind of service I would expect from an InterContinental and I will think twice about returning to one again.
