No Relaxing facilities. Did not want a gym workout.
The steam room was very dirty and always unattended, and so was the gym
Excellent location for visiting site at Petra
We had specified that we would like a non smoking room and king sized bed. When we arrived we were offered a smoking room or else a room with twin queen beds. The room was a junior suite, which was fine, but the bathroom was very small. Very hard bed and pillows
Location, room, food, public areas and most staff
We were billed in £ without being offered the choice of local currency. This cost us more than £20 extra because of a 4% mark up. This was sharp practice and I am contacting them separately to complain.
Everything. Great location
The location was superb; the staff courteous; the facilities were great and the general ambience was absolutely brilliant
Nothing specific to complain about. The staff were probably a bit too 'present'.
Door lock kept failing rendering is locked out of room 5 times often waiting over 30 mins to get in causing us to miss two appointments. Water was sometimes cold in the shower. Internet not always working. We left early due to issues
The hotel is very well located in front of Petra entrance. The hotel itself is very pretty (rooms nothing special). A special mention of the service. They where super frendly and approachable.
1. The acclimatization of the room was terrible. We tried to sleep with a 27ºC 3 people in a not very big room. They couldn´t do anything about it. Apparently the AC system is setted by default at that ridiculous temperature. The solution provided was a very noisie suppletory AC machine. Impossible to rest. Definetly not a 5 star Mövenpick solution/room. 2. The toilet flush didn´t flush properly. No comment to this. 3. Small beds 4. The booking page didn´t allow us to book for 3 adults (just 2 adults +1 child). Of course they charged us for the extra bed.
Great for access to site. Hotel opposite main gate and ticket office.
Great location adjacent to the entrance to Petra. Lovely hotel building and rooms, extremely comfortable room, bed etc. Bar and restaurant were very well decorated and comfortable. Wifi was poor in the rooms and not available in the lounge and bar.
All meals were only average, breakfast being best, and still, only ok. Not overly fresh breakfast as it had been set out the night before, so dried out cheese and old fruit salad. Food and drink is expensive due to 7% service charge and 10% govt tax, and for that price the service should have been much better. Instead, it was relatively slow and not what you anticipate given the hotels stars and recommendations.
Proximity for Petra was the best. It's a really nice hotel and the staff was very nice. I would stay again.
We went in November (winter season) and the heat was on in the hotel. There was no way to cool our room down because the thermostat was locked at 24C. One of the worst nights of sleep because of the heat.
It is without doubt the best location
When I checked out, they did not ask me what currency I want to pay the bill in. I know that in such case, it's better to do it in local currency. If you do it in US$, the currency of my home, they will apply their own exchange rate. When I looked at the receipt more carefully later on, it was paid in US$ with a 4% markup! which in my case came out to about $20. I was not pleased!
Impressive architecture, friendly staff, terrific upgrade at arrival, flexibility when we wanted to change departure date, great breakfast.
Lot of noise from the street
Comfortable beds Attentive and friendly service staff at the breakfast hall and roof terrace
Wifi is horrible. Didn't manage yo log on until day yo leave. Concierge staff could be more helpful and disorganised.
We stayed at this hotel to see Petra and the location was perfect as we have 2 young boys and the entrance to the ticket office is just across the road. The staff were very welcoming especially as we were a family and even though we arrived early without notice they did everything they could to get our room ready for us.
Convenience and homely environment...
After a long day of walking around the Lost City, it was such a relief to only have to cross the street to be at our hotel. The GM's Assistant helped us with booking a transfer to and from Amman airport and she was fantastic! She answered all my questions and gave very clear advice on what to expect and provided us with the driver's name and mobile number in case of emergency upon our arrival. The driver was very well priced and courteous and we were well taken care of. We would stay at Movenpick again and have already suggested to others that this is the only place in Petra to stay.
Getting internet access was difficult and I gave up. Housekeeping were very good at taking away old towels but didn't replace them and toiletries were not replenished either. Both was taken care of quickly when we rang.
Overall the hotel is excellent
The location for visiting Petra is fantastic, so close to the entrance. Spacious, room and comfortable bed, with a nice bathroom. Good food in the restaurant. Courteous and efficient staff.
The Location was Excellent it was right in front of the Petra.
The Wi-Fi service was very bad.
The Hotel has a perfect location for a visit to Petra, the room was spacious (junior suite) and had all amenities even with a bottle of red wine for the welcome. The staff is extremely helpfull and very well trained. Stunnig rooftop terrace although its hard to find a non-windy corner for dinner. The food is extremely delicious.
The wifi connection is improvable, it gets easily overcrowded that you can not login anymore. It was a bit noisy at night due to some brumming, engine like noise (not the air condtion) that we were unable to locate.
Very nice stay, friendly stuff, made arrangements for our honeymoon and everything was great
very good hotel. the best location
- Excellent location in front of Petra's site place - Clean
- Pillows - Service poor at sometimes despite the positive attitude.
