The same manager runs two hotels: streetside Al Fawanees that has more dingy rooms, and Noor, which is better and in the quiet courtyard. Noor has no sign and nobody knows about it, so ask directions for Al Fawanees to find it. Looks dump on the front but rooms inside are ok. The place is far from center and tourist places but it has the necessary services nearby: shops, fast food, bank and taxis. In hotel WiFi works. No towel. I booked for 2 nights. The hotel manager claimed that they had not received my booking at all, and could provide room for 1 night only. Yet, they had still rooms available in Booking.com! I did not insists about this but accepted their offer to have a street side room for the second night. The street side room, however, was dump. Not sure was it room of Al Fawanees or someone's long term apartment made empty in short notice. All it had extra room but no WiFi, no towel, no cold water (only very hot water making showering almost impossible), dirty floors, electric cable coming from window preventing for closing (thus traffic noise). Noor itself might be ok for non-demanding traveler. Main concern is whether the reservations made via Booking.com are respected.
