Very little, the view from the hotel is very nice. Looking out over the valley is about all that is good at this hotel. The room was big.
Nearly everything else, the hotel cost 58JD and for this I would expect much more than we got, for example no bath mats in the shower, bathroom was dirty, we also made the mistake of eating at the restaurant and it was poor, on the bright side there was no chance of food poisoning as everything had been cooked to within an inch of its life. We ordered drinks and the only time we saw them was on the bill when we were checking out. I would stay here again and I wouldn't recommend anyone else does. This has been the most expensive hotel we have stayed at in Jordan and compared with the others, some of which are 25JD cheaper, comes up way short.
-location of the hotel is outside jarash in the hillside with an amazing view overlooking valleys and forest. -taxi to ciy center can be arranged for 3JD by reception. -rooms where large and clean. -bed, pillows and matras of good quality. -friendly and helpful staff with any questions or requests.
rooms are not 100% sound proof, but i didnt have any problems with that during my night rest.
Good location Check in - good man present & helpful Clean bedroom
Poor evening meal. High prices for drinks. Restaurant on 2nd floor with poor access. Hotel needs a new coat of paint.
The hotel is located at the top of a hill in the countryside offering spectacular views of the valley below. The staff are so friendly and helpful. There is a swimming pool and lots of areas to relax outdoors.
The hotel is dated. The rooms are find but the grounds and common areas in general aren't in great shape.
The location was very nice among the countryside not far from Jerash. Although this means one must have a car to reach both the city and the hotel. The view from the room( indipendant block at the front near the entrance) and also from the terrace where breakfast is served. The owner is very friendly and speaks good english offering informations about the area and the attractions. Atmosphere is informal and makes you feel at home.
The bathroom is poor and not very well equipped. Lack of basic things like a lamp beside the bed in order to reed in the evening without disturbing the ones sleeping in the same room. No continental breakfast at all, but that's ok..
views are good
I made a reservation for this hotel about 3 month in advance and asked for a room with balcony and double bed. Instead, we got a room with 3 single beds and without a balcony. This due to the fact that 3 large groups were visiting; so the owner told us this was all she could do.. They did make an effort in putting beds together, and gave us 50% discount, fair enough, but it was not at all what we were expecting and what I had asked for.
Good location outside of town (car needed), in olive grove. Friendly staff and nice big rooms.
The view from the room.
No wifi in the room. The hotel seemed abandoned. The restaurant was closed at lunch time...
location is very nice & quite , room is clean
need more furniture like fridge, safe box and more tables
So peaceful and beautiful. Amazing views. Room was fine, staff friendly, breakfast good. Jerash is incredible and hugely undersold.
We found it hard to find! Weren't used to map reading in Jordan. Once found it was obvious but the cross roads you turn off isn't a crossroads, it's a t junction.
The hotel is located in mountains with great views over adjacent towns, about 5 kilometers from Jaresh. The new half of the facility has all amenities and the staff, in particular at the front desk, is very helpful.
The older wing, which appears unused other than for the restaurant is dated.
The staff was very nice and helpful. The food was good. The view from the hotel is awsome
A) WiFi signal was rather inexistant B) the hotel is far away of the town and the restaurant is a shame C) the rate for 1Euro / 0,82 Jod they propose is very low compare at the usual rate 0,95 for 1 Euro
Good location with fabulous views
No fridge in room
It was in nice surroundings
A bit run down with depressing decor.
Isolated rural location with a fine view, nice room
cleanliness and comfort
location is on the hill
The location is tranquil and the view is lovely.
The Olive Branch is difficult to find without a GPS (we used the Pocket Earth app on our iPad; without this we'd probably still be looking for the place). Unfortunately, the hotel choices in the vicinity of Jerash are limited, to say the least. The breakfast wasn't very good.
The staff were very generous and sincere! The place was clean, quiet and relaxing. Excellent value for money! Also Very clean. Many thanks to the olive branch hotel!
Wifi was very slow and could only be used in the lobby
Garden rooms spacious, very clean and comfortable with great view from balcony
Food average, Wi-Fi only available in reception area and very slow
The Olive Branch is a nice hotel and in a great location on a hilltop surrounded by olive groves, there are attractive flower beds around the main building and in front of the new garden rooms, and the garden rooms themselves are spacious and comfortable. The pool looks great (though it was too early in the year for us to swim there, in early April.)
The place lacks atmosphere. The dining room is huge but empty, service is slow and haphazard (tables weren't often laid in advance, no juice at breakfast or milk for tea and coffee, very few people there), and the route up to the dining room is a peculiar trek up what feel like back stairs, and the reception desk wasn't always staffed. There is wi-fi, but only in the lobby area. Overall, we really wanted to like the hotel, and the staff at reception were friendly and helpful when they were there, but the hotel really needs more love and attention and some serious thought about how to make guests feel welcome. We ate there on our first evening but the lack of any atmosphere in the dining room was a real turn-off, sadly.
Gorgeous hillside views. Cheap taxi fares to hotel from Jerash town centre. Lovely owners who are happy to help. The newer rooms are large and have a balcony that looks out over the valley. Excellent breakfast
The bed was a bit hard.
Good Location , value for money
Poor comfort and facilities
We used this hotel rather than staying in Amman and I'm still glad we did. It's located only 10 minutes drive out of Jarash high up in the hills surrounded by gnarly pine trees and olives. But be aware that it is a simple facility. The original hotel is looking quite tired and a bit grubby but the management have embarked on a substantial construction phase with new rooms, facilities and outdoor eating areas. I'm guessing the ongoing downturn in tourism is hurting the business and refurbishment plans. I particularly appreciated the honest discussion with the manager - a great introduction to Jordan.
On the night we were there we were the only diners in the restaurant and the choice was extremely limited. Breakfast was similar. The hot water system is a bit crazy: because the boiler is located in the old building (50 metres away) you have turn the hot water tap on for several minutes in order to get some warm water. Ridiculous given Jordan's critical shortage of water. Maybe they will eventually install a boiler closer to the new rooms.
We liked our room that was brand new and with wonderful views. But the rest of the hotel was old and rather the worse for wear. Also impossible to find and no signs anywhere to guide you.I couldn't recommend it for this reason
The food - mezze for vegetarians yet again.
