We particularly enjoyed the dinner served in the hotel's restaurant, it was just delicious. The owner is English, so it's easy to communicate. The staff is helpful and the hotel is perfectly situated. A lot of charm !
Nothing, everything was fine !
Friendly & good service
Marketed as a family hotel and we found owners to be friendly and they spent time answering our many cultural and geographical questions. Breakfast was delightful especially sitting on the verandah overlooking Petra. Was also great chatting with other guests oner the evening meal.
This is a great travellers hotel - very personal and positive service with excellent knowledge of the local area and people, all from a European perspective. Rooms simple but clean and well air conditioned. The supplied breakfast was the local fare cooked by the owner and was ample and tasty. The optional evening meal in the restaurant was very good value.
Not something that was an issue to us but it is a distance and up hill from the gates to the park but only a 3JD/3 min taxi trip. Not many taxis early in the morning but such was the service that we were taken down by a family member. The view from the restaurant completely negates the 'uphill' problem - fantastic, particularly at night.
Had a leisure day in hotel after 2 days walk in Petra, the terrace is wonderful, beautifully decorated, great view of the wadi Musa, nice dinner and the lovely kitten. Jane is helpful to book the bus for us to Wadi Rum that pick us at the hotel next early morning.
a bit far from the city centre, need a car!
The staff especially Jane were so helpful and attentive, giving advice on everything we asked. The room was clean and comfortable, it was like staying with family. The breakfast was fresh and tasty, dinner was delicious. Definitely attend a dinner at the associated Bedouin camp, it was a highlight! Our stay was so peaceful and enjoyable, we'll definitely stay at Rocky Mountain Hotel next time we're in Wadi Musa and will recommend to everyone we know.
Nothing, all was perfect.
Pleasant stay, helpful staff, lovely owner ... great hospitality in a family run hotel ... stay here is like stay in your own place
i absolutely loved the dining area/lounge, with the view, and the dinner was very nice. sorry i did not have enough time to enjoy the breakfast. the room for 3 was very comfortable.
Staff was super friendly and helpful. We had dinner at the hotel the night we stayed and it was good. Large room on top to hang out and enjoy the view
small bathroom, couldn't use sink without getting water everywhere. No problems with wifi.
What we needed was a clean comfortable budget hotel in Wasi Musa really Petra. We got that and more. The staff were welcoming and their advice helped us get more out of our visit. The food was Bedouin style as stated and was plentiful and fresh. The ability to have tea and coffee at any time was great. Watching the sun set over Petra from the restaurant and teracewas superb. Five star it is not but it is fighting
I am sure many will find fault with something but if one remembers this is a budget hotel, I think they are being unrealistic based on our experience.
Lady on reception was incredibly helpful (and English), location and views were stunning, evening meals were super convenient and good food, 'common room'/lounge was superb for relaxing in the evening and listening to the call to prayer. Value for money incredible: a much better experience than staying in a big chain. Also own the 'seven wonders Bedouin camp', which was excellent and really worth doing.
Keep windows CLOSED and locked if you're in a room with a terrace/balcony - these are public spaces and seem to attract some traffic.
The hotel is located in an ideal position to have a wonderful few days exploring Petra and caters to your every need in this respect. This includes offering good pack lunches, transport to the entrance, highly knowledgable staff and a welcoming atmosphere to meet other explorers. The view from the terrace bar over Petra is awesome and sitting here with a shisha pipe and cup of tea is a great way to unwind after a busy days hiking. Bottom line: excellent value for money and would highly recommend.
Owner was incredibly informative, welcoming and helpful. The lounge is large, cozy and spectacular--the perfect place for the breakfast. Clean and simple; great value.
The restaurant room/chill room upstairs is very nice, it has beautiful views and a very relaxing atmosphere, which is perfect after a tiring day of walking in petra. Staff is very kind. You can have a meal in the evening, which was very tasty.
If you don't have a car, there is a shuttle service, but it's a few km's from Petra entrance. The rooms are small but that's understandable for the price and the rooftop place makes more than up for that.
Helpful staff. Excelent breakfast and dinner. Comfortable room. The decoration of the restaurante was in bedouin style, very beatiful and exotic. The hotel provided free transportation to (and from) the entrance of Petra. Good for money.
There is no telephone in room.
+ helpful and friendly staff + good wifi + good view
- very old building, furniture, towels, bed clothing - no shampoo - hot water supply only in the morning and evening - cash payments only - very poor breakfast
the location is great - certainly a place you want to stay longer and come back too - beautiful view over Wadi Musa - staff was very helpful and friendly. Thanks to Atef for showing us the 7 wonders bedouin camp as well - you shouldn' miss it.
there was nothing we didn't like
Very helpful and friendly staff. Great view from the terrace. Very close to restaurants and town center.
A great view of Petra from hotel roof cafe. Helpful staff.
Jane, the proprietor was incredible helpful. I was able to get lifts to and from Little Petra on my arrival and she was great at providing tips for my day in Petra.
Hot water was only available early morning or late evening. Being unable to pay by credit card was awkward as there were limited places to get jordanian money.
Nothing fancy but good value for money. We ere just looking for a bed for the night before heading to see Petra in the morning. The hotel restaurant with its oriental decoration is quite charming.
There was something wrong with the booking and we blame booking.com The reception invited us to be as long as we wanted in the hotel and to join dinner. The little terras was overlooking the city. But they had no room for us. They brought us by taxi to the Rashied hotel and that was awful! Electricity didn't work, shower was leaking and breakfast could hardly have that name.
Beautiful room, great view, kind and helpful staff. Wonderful supper meal. Would love to stay there again when we visit Petra.
An absolute plus is Jane, the friendly British woman that runs the hotel and is constantly seeing that every guest has a good time. The rooms were clean (a bit kitsch, but we liked it) and the roof terrace is breath taking. Highly recommended.
The WiFi didn't work in our room, but it did on the roof terrace, with was fine.
