not a thing
booked deluxe room was put in a less than standard room, when I complained I was told that they only had one room left and they would fix it for the second night. After discovering the wall behind my pillow was black with MOULD we asked to have the wall bleached. After 1 1/2 hours of negotiation they moved us to the only room left.....it was a deluxe room!? At check out time we were asked to pay in cash because card machine was broken, we had no cash, they asked numerous time for cash but we had none so miraculously the machine worked!! I DO NOT recommend this hotel. Upgraded rooms are very nice and the rest are mouldy and smelly.
while we were there at Sella Hotel, the elevator was out of service, so we have to walk up and down three floors everytime we wanted to go to our room or go to the dining room. The internet wifi was good only on the 3rd floor that we stayed. If we are on the ground floor, the wifi didnt work, so we asked the reception to issue us a new username and password. The reception said hes gonna charge us for 2 JD. I was very dissastisfied and I told him that I am a guest here. Eventually, he yielded to my request. But u know, I was already dissapointed!
One of the rooms had mold and when my friend asked for another room they said there weren't any, but there was one Delux room. Also they lied when they said we could not pay by VISA because the machine wasn't working, but when they found out we did not have any cash, suddenly it worked. Right!
Booked deluxe room, told not available, was put in a less than even standard room that was smelly and turned out MOULDY. A large section of the wall behind the bed was black with mould. After trying to have wall bleached they decided to move us to another room. Turns out our new room was deluxe! Don't know why we weren't put there to begin with! Stayed 2 nights, at check out time we were told that the machine was broken we would have to pay cash....but we had none, the clerk asked us 2 or 3 times for cash and when it was understood that we really didn't have any cash the machine worked just fine.
Good value for money
Staff (unfriendly, gave us different room than we booked, gave us wrong information about transportation). Location (the webpage says it's at the entrance to Petra, but it's acctually 3 km away). The room was rather small and not well equiped.
staff was attentive. dinner and breakfast were good local food.
it appears that hot water needs to be turned on. air-conditioning stopped working during the night.
Location was ok and easy to find.
Rooms were very dated and the staff was not very friendly. Very nosey as were were next to the road on a hill.
Great Location and very good staf
not clean and old furnichature
- very helpful and friendly staff, who conveniently arranged tours - nice lobby and dining room - reliable internet service - lovely view into the valley
- room was very dated and shabby - unusually low ceilings - hotel needs major facelift - cramped bathroom, needed repairs - too far away from Petra gate (not walking distance) - no other visitor services in neighborhood (restaurants etc.) - very poor TV reception - would not return for a visit
Rooms clean, I have beautiful view of city, good location to Petra and decent breakfast
When I arrived they want me to pay up front with cash saying that credit card machine not working. I was traveling with Jordanian family perhaps they dont trust us to pay in morning. I never know hotels to required cash up front. Very bad business practice especially refused my credit card when they has sign advertising that they accept credit card
All services are very very bad...
Some great cooking.
Very slow wifi. Too many hidden charges. Too far from town to walk. Noisy.
Helpful staff - they changed our bed without charching us. The view was very beautiful
The breakfast is not worth the 6 JD The location - located 3 km. from the entrance to Petra. The King Size Deluxe Room didn't live up to our expectations
The staff was highly uncooperative. We were a group of friends with both guys and girls and some were staying in a different hotel and the staff over there dint allow to visit the room and created a nuisance. Moreover this is the first hotel in the world, which they state that according to rules, it is not allowed to eat or drink inside the room. My recommendation is to completely avoid this place altogether as there are better hotels at cheaper price in Petra.
It is worth the price as it is cheap. It's warm but not too hot, there's hot water and I slept eell.
It feels like it used to be grand but no changes were made since 1983 and it has slowly died on thr spot.
They promise me a deal we could have deluxe nice bedrooms but when we arrived they give us the simple beds because the deluxe rooms were more expensives then not the deal
the rooms are very different of the rooms you ca see on the pictures
Location , staff were good, clean good for what i paid
Just the toilet chair broken
For the money it was good value and we enjoy our staying there. Hotel is situated 20-25 min by foot from Petra or 5 min by taxi for 3 Jordan Dinars.
At least it was pretty clean
It's nothing like what you see on the photos, it's very old. TV didn't work, the toilet seat was loose, there were electrical wires hangin on the wall. Staff was not very friendly. We payed 6JD for a very poor breakfast.
- Great beds, really comfortable! - Clean rooms and bathroom
- The tour guide member of staff trying to sell us tours at every opportunity, even at 1am when we had just arrived after 12 hours of travel. - It's a bit of a walk to Petra, at least a few km and all steep uphill walking on the way back.
Wifi was available in the room
This is not a 3 star hotel. The staff is more than aggressive with selling us breakfast, dinner or any tours they offer. They are all extremely over priced and honestly not worth it. The room is a bit outdated . And a lot of the utilities were not working. Also we stayed for 3 nights but only had hot water 1 night. - location: it's about a 30minute walk to Petra's gate. A taxi will cost you 3 JOD (don't pay more than that). Very inconvenient after walking all day in Petra. After we left Pella hotel, we stayed at another hotel (for less $$) and it was a 5 minute walk to Petra's gate. Our experience at the other hotel was night and day . Don't stay here.
Location & facilities not as described- long walk to from Petra gate.
Solid middle class hotel, beautiful view over the ancient Petra rock city. Good value for money.
the view & surrounding
a little away from petra entrance
